I think Jekyll is not underrated especially among EXO-Ls. Most of EXO-Ls choose Jekyll as their best song from Obsession album. For me, Nonstop is the underrated one because I find it so rare to see people liking Nonstop. Personally, my favourite songs from this album are Trouble, Nonstop, Groove and Ya Ya Ya. If I need to add one song as Top 5 top tier song in this album, then yes I will add Jekyll as well.

I began the KPop journey last year, listened to quite a bit of groups, all great in their own right btw, but EXO was it for me… they have the absolute best discography. Point. Blank. Periodt.
Chanyeol and Kai did surprise me in this album. Kai has more lines and Chanyeol has more singing parts. "Jekyll" is my favourite, but I also love "Obsession", "Trouble" and "Groove". In terms of music genre, this album is different compares to other EXO albums.
About kai, he got a unique vocal tone as u may noticed, his voice is like a warm honey and i say always that his voice to me is like a drinking hot chocolate milk powder while looking on the rain, don't ask about it haha🤣😅 those are the vibes I'm getting from him

Kai’s voice has always stood out to me in EXO, like you said, even among some of the best vocalists I’ve ever heard. His tone is so unique and yet fits so well with the others. I’ve seen his voice get mistaken as Suho, Baekhyun, and even Kyungsoo in lyric videos over the years and I think it was because people really underestimated what he can do with his tone and range. Ahhhhhh exo has THE BEST b-sides in the industry….every album is a no skip. So glad that you’re getting more into their discography. My fave off of this album is Jekyll, I love how dark it is and the chant-like chorus is *chef’s kiss*…blasting it on a late night drive through town😩

Can’t believe it was released in 2019, yet I’m still not tired of any of the songs. Also Grove? And Kai’s part on that second verse??? Yes put some respekt on Queen Groove’s name~! They all ran that, but I’m telling u-that song was perfect for Kai and Suho’s vocal colors. (And FYI: Ya Ya Ya is basically the black EXO-L national anthem now lol. They really had the balls to take on a sample from a 90’s r&b girl group like SWV that was meant for Ceradi, and said: “yeah, I think we got enough soul for this”, and delivered?! EXO finna be invited to the BBQ if they don’t chill lol)

Exactly! Jekyll is basically based on "Jekyll & Mr Hyde" so that's why in the chorus you've got the more "agressive" parts (Jekyll singing a.k.a x-exo) and the softer parts (Mr Hyde a.k.a exo). The song also implies that exo and x-exo are basically two parts of the same person hence the "I'm in control", "I'm already in you" or " Your voice that cries out in my head" lyrics. It's so cool how they made this song because you can pin point the moments exo transforms into x-exo and how they warn us that they are coming
It's actually reversed. Dr. Jekyll is the more timid, kind man, and Mr. Hyde is the dark, evil man that comes out after he drank his own test drug. Hyde is the dark alter ego that only comes out at night when Dr. Jekyll relinquished control of himself, or something like that.

When I first heard this album it wasn’t my favorite and then I noticed that the first song Obsession ends with them saying ‘disappear’ and ‘go away’ with them breaking their necks and ending with butterfly effect saying “saving my life” and we are angels and finally “dont leave”. After that I realized how amazing this album is, so unique. It’s really a masterpiece album.
