I got mine out of the trash where I work. First problem was it was a corporate machine and highly secured, bit locked and passwords. it was a brick with no way in. I removed the drive and formatted it externally. now I cannot install windows without a product key (I thought anyway) so I got windows 10 media creator from Microsoft and created an install thumb drive. it worked fine. I was waiting for the activation nag but it never came?? I checked the windows registry and there was a key already in there?? I upgraded it to Windows 11 22H2 with internet tricks to get past the system requirements and this little bugger runs great. its now my main PC its so good.

Very compact and looks good but it's very delicate to handle. Connectors get spoiled easily and replacing them is very costly and not available. Gets heated up very fast due to poor ventilation.

@@HPSupport Thank you so much for your help and reply. Actually it's a system design flaw which should have been rectified at the Quality Control check itself. Because it has no vents, holes properly for ventilation, due to which it gets heated up fast when used with a M.2 or MSATA and 16 gb of ram.
System is really excellent no doubt in that but this small drawback was not taken seriously. Hope HP will rectify this in its newly introduced systems.

Do any of the 800 G3 Desktop Mini PCs come with an additional fan for the storage?
I own an 800 G2 Mini, with an i7-6700 CPU. It has a fan sandwiched between the 2.5" SSD and the M.2 NVMe SSD.
From what I could ascertain, it appears as though the "i7-6700" CPU models have the storage fan, and the "i7-6700T" CPU models do not have the storage fan.
I am trying to figure out if the above is correct (it is hard to find the answer).
How can I know which 800 G3 Desktop Mini PCs were factory built with the additional storage fan?
That fan is important for my use, because I will be installing an M.2 drive and using it heavily. I do not want it to overheat or have the performance throttle down. I need that storage fan. So please let me know if there is a pattern of which units came with the storage fan (and which units did not come with the storage fan).
    Thank you.

    I THINK I F'ED UP MY ELITEDESK.
I'm writing here cause of desperation. I was tinkering with it (meaning i was, unsuccesfully, trying to boot batocera via USB drive to install it on the drive). I messed with the bios security settings, after seeing that i couldn't boot batocera, i was gonna contain damage by applying default bios security settings. Except i then confirmed and exit bios and the pc started to turn on, showing nothing on the screen, and shutting down in cycle (couldn't even access bios again, nothing on the screen). I've pushed the cmos Button, removed the battery, removed everything except ram and CPU, removing and installing back the CPU,... But nothing seems to work. Did i destroy the bios?
