Mel Gibson deserves to win a directoral Oscar for Hacksaw Ridge. Andrew Garfield needs to be nominated for an Emmy and Oscar for leading actor in the Hacksaw Ridge movie.

Mel Gibson is a brilliant actor - but even more so, a genius director. I'm personally so glad that he's been able to rise above all of the bullshit and make movies again! His voice is unique, bold and artistic. The dude stands out. He's right up there with Capra, Stone, Spielberg, Ron Howard and Clint Eastwood.
Mel Gibson is BACK !!!! And people, stop allowing GROUPS OF REPORTERS to do your thinking. Start THINKING FOR YOURSELF for a change!!! I never gave up on Mel Gibson because only 1 side of the story was being told.....back in the day, Mel was a LEGEND.....and he's still a legend.

Timmy well about 10 years ago he was intoxicated he was under the influence and a police car pick them up and he was drunk and slurring his words and he doesn't remember what he said and then the police officer told him that you said some offensive remarks about Jewish people and people take it offensive it was anti-semitic but later on you didn't mean what you say especially when you're drunk and you're intoxicated you don't really mean anything you start saying Jibber Jabber when you're drinking so then people took that offensively and he didn't show up at Hollywood or even mention for four years until 2010 he came back with the movie called Edge of Darkness which was a good movie in my opinion really good comeback and it said to be
You forgot, Phillip Alvarado, that "Mel" made the Movie "The Passion of the Christ" which JEWS HATED vehemently because Mel told the truth that the Jews handed Jesus (an innocent man, except to the Jews when He had claimed to be God incarnate) over to Pontius Pilate to be beaten viciously and violently to a pulp and hung on the Cross. THAT was what got "Mel Gibson" in hot water. The Drunk tirade that night was just a "gotcha" moment that fell into the laps of salivating Jews (basically ALL of the mainstream media is controlled by and why Trump was thrashed constantly during the recent American election for president, because Jews want to Genocide ALL WHITE people for "what Hitler" did...).
You see, there's much much more to it than a simple intoxicated rant. The JEWS NEVER forgive, which is why Mel Gibson WILL NOT "win" a single Oscar for this "Hacksaw Ridge" masterpiece. You watch.

Ehh, I’m not sure about Andrew equating patriotism and tribalism. You can have pride in your country’s history and values and still see people from other countries as human beings. Desmond didn’t go “beyond” patriotism. He embodied the purest form of patriotism. It’s an American value that all men are created equal.

I think Garfield was chosen as the lead because he was Jewish; Gibson showing that he is not Anti-Jewish like the press paints him.
Whatever Garfield's a good actor, he got a raw deal with the Amazing Spiderman fiasco but thankfully he has this and Martin Scorsese's next film coming up so his star should be on the rise again.
All that Bible reading didn't end up nowhere for Desmond. He helped the wounded Japanese as well because God loved them as much as he loved the Americans. He was doing no more than following Jesus' command of "Love your enemies!" (Luke 6: 27).
