I was wondering how Danny Boy could be an Irish song: glens can be Irish as well as Scottish, but there aren't many Irish peaks which really justify the word "mountain". Turns out that it's an English song which was later set to an Irish tune.

"Danny Boy" is a ballad, written by English songwriter Frederic Weatherly
John "Jack" Judge (3 December 1872 - 25 July 1938) was a British songwriter and music-hall entertainer best remembered for writing the song "It's a Long Way to Tipperary".
