I have the original bench seat in my 61 Apache. It been padded a little more then stock. It just a comfortable as that plastic outta place late model seat in that truck!!!
cool
I've been driving these trucks for nearly 40 years now, and my first truck I purchased for $500 when I was 16 and learned to drive and work the 3 speed on the tree all at the same time. a few hours and I felt confident and drove around all day! What memories. I have since owned many of these 60's chevy pickups, each always seems like an old friend, when I sit in the cab, yet with their own individual personality. I currently own 2 shortbeds, a fleets idea and a stepup, both run still but the are in need of restoration now. Ido need a good rear end with panhard bar bracket for my 1964 fleetside, so if anyone can help...I would appreciate it! Again would love to know more info about these trucks? Thanks again for sharing, much appreciated!
I'm in love with this truck,
I’ve never been a fan of the side step, which makes me love this truck even more
thank you for the kind comments ...... it has been a joy!
This is one beautiful old 65 Chevy C10.
One beautiful truck. I recently, yesterday actually purchased a 65 Chevy Suburban. I don't think I will replace the V8 it currently has but I love that interior and paint job. Thank you for a few ideas.
Beautiful pickup and great video! I love the resto mod concept. Keeping the vintage look with modern upgrades like engine/trans, disc brakes, suspension etc. So many snarky, rude comments from keyboard commando's who will never build anything close to this truck. I'm building a 65 small back window and will be making changes to suit my personal preferences like this guy did. I don't care what other people think. I'll be replacing the factory seat with one that is comfortable because of back issues I have. Thanks for sharing this with us! DDDave
Thanks brother! Yeah, people love to talk trash don't they LOL. Oh well, I'll just keep enjoying all these awesome cars and having fun. Sounds like your truck is gonna be cool! Best of luck to ya!
Beautiful truck, thanks for sharing. My dad had this same year model and color when I was young. I would like to have one just like it re done someday.
This is really cool, I want one !!!!!, My dad actually had the same model and colour as this as a work truck for his shop back in the 1960's, after that he switched to Ford Pick-ups in the 1970s
fantastic truck ! in amazing condition .
The old seat makes it feel like a truck not an easy chair
I love this truck
Awesome Truck, NICE Job!
Cool truck love it
This is sweet. Great job.
I love this truck fleet side have the same model =) !! ...but not in this conditions...=( =( =( , good job ! congratulatios my friend.
Greetings from Villa Alemana City, Sud-Americas - Chile
My hats off to hiw the build came through. I have one question. From what vehicle, year and model did the front suspension come from. Bolt on straight from another chevy vehicle, wow
Nice pick-up! I'm planning to do the same to my 1965👍
I'm fixing up a 65c60 with a 283.
Beautiful truck.
Great job my Dad has a 66 pick up and I would love to restore it as you did yours I always think of your truck when I'm at my parents house how I would like to restore it for him I would set it up as you did thanks for sharing great job. What was the cost.
Why use a junkyard engine? I agree with others "Interior is crap" they didn't have backup lights in 65. however you have a nice "starter kit" with a few modifications you would have a nice truck!
Wow, the haters, shut up, it's what HE wanted!
Exactly!
i see a lot of these wood panel beds; are they easy to damage?
Beautiful ride!
What year exactly of "late model suburban" did you use the suspension/cradle from? I'm about to start the restoration of my 1965 Chevy (stepside) and working on getting ideas. Thanks
63 to 87 front cross members all interchange. 1/2 ton pickup or suburban two wheel drive. 70's and 80's get you 5 hole wheels and disc brakes. If you are replacing ball joints and tie rods and such you need to get them for the year you have because they are different from year to year
The seat is out of a 95-99 Chevy Pick Up for those who were wondering!!
Nice Truck once again! Love the videos and both your trucks! Curious who is the premier bed restorer you speak of in the video? I would love to know more about all the parts, updates and sources that you did on this restomod on these year chevy pickups! Thanks again!
You and me both lol
Dam that is my dream truck wish I had that
genius is simplicity!
Nice work !
She's a beautiful ride
Thanks!
I agree you have a very nice ride.
Magnifique from France ;-)
Trailer queen! Built to drive 15 years ago. But does not look driven!
Hi..I have a 66 with the same colours which I bought in Denton. With factory air.The lettering on the tailgate, are they stick on letters?
I would love to get the color code of the blue on your chevy. I'd like to paint mine the same.
What year suburban suspension did you use?? I hope you answer my question thanks!
Feel free to check out our website :) The link is in the description!
what years of suburban front suspension will fit on a 65/66 c10?
This truck is a work of art. I’d be willing to pay a bunch for something like this. Now Hunters art? I’d use the truck and do burnouts on his art.
Trying to figure out what year you said running gear been looking for bolt on and how to drop front end and will rear end work with old tracken bars scott from ga.
What year running gear did you switch to?
Other then the interior reAl nice job
it is a very nice truck but unless you installed those back up lights, 66 was the only year that had them.
I like all original and the more it sounds like shit inside the cab the more of a true 60"s experience but good job for what you like
love it!!
Do gou have any links on installing a 350...
Cool!
gorgeous truck, but feul injection?
What year suburban suspension did you use?
Vortec 5.3 💯
The steering wheel and seats do not match this pickup.
Otherwise, beautiful truck!
it is a very nice truck, and you did a great job on it. having said that, i`ve got to say that it kills me when people take an old vehicle and try to make it like a new one. if you want a new truck, just go buy one ! you took all the heart and soul out of that truck and made it a plastic, plain jane truck just like all the rest of them on the road. how long would it take to get bored driving that ? when that truck was built, it was built by PEOPLE who were proud of what they did. you just took all of that away and put a bunch of plastic, computerized junk in it .
Mark Terry Amen!!!
The heart and soul of this pickup is completely intact. It's not hacked up with a chopped top, giant wagon wheels, shaved door handles or other stupid mods that completely change the lines. It is beautiful and very well done! I don't like the steering wheel/column but this guy does and it's His truck.
I love this truck.
love everything except the seats. They really cheap it up.
but they're ergonomically designed by gm engineers for your comfort xD -_-
New Blue
12:22 is that a UFO????????????
HOT RIDE
sell the truck ??
Don’t like the exhaust needs 3inch pips stay hidden under the truck
What Are the color codes of blue and white please
how much this car ??
Love this truck , beautiful.
TRUCK
Are these vehicles for sale?
Check out website... MyRod.com
The interior is not appealing to me at all. The tires and rims are not my thing either. Not to be a trolling hater, but i guess it's your truck so do what you want
Dale Wildey I totally agree brother.
Seat no mach
fuck f-350! I want this!
Ahun esta disponible ☺️
91 surburban front end?
Yep, if I remember right... that's what it was.
Missing an ( E ) Man
" this is my favorite hubcap"??? Okay?
How much $$ you got in it like 50k I'm sure!!
OK #1. A 5.3 L = 325 cu. in. not 327 Check it out.
#2. It`s an engine not a motor. A motor gets it`s power from an outside source like a power house or a battery. An engine gets it`s power from within. If you can call an engine a motor then you can call a motor an engine. That engine is about 315 hp stock.
A 315 hp motor would be bigger & heavier than your truck.
I love your truck but trying to clarify a couple of things. No hard feelings.
1. they are not exactly 5.3 liters. different cylinder head arrangements and valving yields 5.361L - 5.365 (depending on the exact year of 5.3 used), so we have between 327.1 - 327.3 cubic inches. check it out and get back to me if my math is wrong
2. "motor" is an industry term, very commonly used by those that know more than you and I about the automotive industry,,,, don't expect "motor trend magazine" to change their name to "engine trend magazine" anytime soon.
3. a 315hp, not to mention even a 350hp motor is in no way bigger than his truck. I am an electrical engineer in texas (so you might be wasting your time checking my math as I suggested above) and installed and programmed the controller logic for a 350hp motor less than a month ago. (I own the company I work for),,,, the motor used was a base frame 449tm by u.s. motors/emerson power systems, and was 33 inches overall length and 23 inches in diameter, with a base weight of 2029lbs with the belt and the 11 inch pulley, so that's not really bigger than a truck huh?
so, I like how you pay attention to detail, but check your info first. cheers
Don`t know how this got to gmail when I sent yahoo.
You might be right with your math but the owners manual says 325 cu. in,, That`s what I go by. Also when I typed in 5.3 = ? cu. in. I got 325.
Calling an engine a motor started out wrong years ago. So people accepted it. I like calling things what they are. That`s why I call a horse a horse & not a mule. Cheers.
Robert Broyles a true 327 sbc would be a 5.4 in the books and the ls 5.3 is a 325. and I also agree with you on motor vs engine. I have a force of habit to say engine instead of motor to people who say motor
Thank you....
Robert Broyles OK #1. Chevrolet refers to the 5.3 as 327 cubic inches...good enough for me.
#2. WHO CARES!!!!!!!!! Get over yourself, (cough) douchebag (cough)
You need the classic steering wheel! the one in your truck is soooo ugly!
Gotta get past 7:00 into the video before you see anything but a goofball yapping.
Really dude? I enjoyed the video. He built a very nice pickup and was kind enough to share the process with us.
The interior is crap, looks way to new and doesn't match the classic look and feel, why not power heated seats then or gayer leather for whomever hemroid infested old ass sits in it
