@@davidcolaco8355 I think the only reason Sisko was still commander even though he was a ship and in charge of a station. Is because the Defiant is officially designated as an Escort vessel due to its small profile and not a mainline ship. Because of this it probably served the role of frigate and usually any officers with either rank of Lt. Commander or Commander would command such a ship. Its the reason Worf took command the Defiant during the battle of Sector 001 in first contact or in the frontlines while Sisko was in DS9 or Starbase 375.

I would like to know what makes Burnham qualified to be a captain. Seriously what are her credentials and qualifications?
She graduated from the Vulcan Science Academy, as did Spock, however Spock went to Starfleet Academy, I’ve taken the time to look into this Micheal has NOT attended the Academy. Therefore she shouldn’t be allowed to hold rank in Starfleet at all, much less a command level officer.
Some could argue T’pol also did not graduate but remains as a second officer aboard the NX. This is a true argument, however, T’pol resigned and joined Enterprise on what was likely a one way trip, Archer kept her a first officer because of her knowledge of the area, skills as a scientist and he TRUSTED her.
She had proven herself capable of following orders, Micheal has disobeyed direct orders on several occasions, one of which resulted in war. She appears to have given a commission as a favor to Sarek rather than earn it on her own merits, which would explain her…proclivity to doing as she pleases rather than follow the chain of command.
I know a little of what happens in season 4 and she is responsible, whether you like it or not, of allowing Book and Tarka to destroy the DMA controller A. and B. allowing her ship to be hit by a salvo of torpedoes because she “knows Book and he wouldn’t hurt her or the ship”. She deliberately put her personal relationship before the well-being of the crew, she doesn’t deserve the chair because she doesn’t respect the chair.

I don't buy this really... They seem to be taking a DS9 approach to storytelling with the character and her rise to Captain. Captain Sisko wasn't a Captain until the end of Season 3. I expect by season 6 none of the episodes will make sense on their own.

It kills me how they ruined the chance for Sonequa’s Michael to be accepted by the fan base in the first season. She’s a fantastic actress but writers messed it up. Gave her a man’s name, a cringe half Vulcan accent that never sounds natural, and shoehorned her backstory into established Trek lore, becoming Spock’s “secret adopted sister that he never mentions because it’s classified”..

I agree, the woke liberals including the showrunners just label everyone as racist if you call out their bull@@@@ but I'm huge fan of Sisko and Janeway. I clearly have no problem like most people having a black female lead/Captain but her backstory and the character is dog s@@@.

@@BishopWalters12yeah I admit their attempt at maximum diversity just felt like an over the top effort at checking all the boxes in one show. it’s easier to focus on that since the show fell short in just about every area with a few exceptions. Poor character development and chemistry, and generally the worst writing in Trek history. The writing was super pretentious plot wise.
