Starting from the wee hours of dawn, with the stage built right on Lake Upavan in Thane, this festival, organized by Times of India, has a very unique ambience to it.
In this video you see, the first piece of the concert, Raga Ahir Bhairav, and the unimitable sing-along towards the second half of the piece where the whole audience joins to sing a song they've never heard, but still know. That is the magic of Indian Classical Music.

महेश सर मी तुम्हाला दादा म्हणू की sir म्हणू समजत नाही कारण दोन्ही उपमामधे तुम्ही मलाच नव्हे तर आम्हा सर्वांना खूप जवळचे वाटता. अर्थात एका रक्ताच्या नात्या पेक्षा खूप जवळचे . म्हणजे मोठ्या भावाचा लहान भावावर ज्याप्रमाणे हक्क असतो त्याप्रमाणे .

मी सुरज पांचाल, लातुर चा आहे, मला लहान पणा पासुन गायनाची आवड आहे, तुमी engineering अभ्यास / job करत करत नामवंत कलाकार झालात याचा मला हेवा वाटतो. तुमच्या कडुन खुप काही शिकण्या चीं ईच्छा आहे.
मी पालीटेक्निक पुर्ण केल्या नतंर काम शोधण्यासाटी पुण्यात खुप फीरत असताना मला माझ्या resum मधे मी hobby म्हनुन (music singing) अस अगदी सहज लीहल होता पण काय माहीत मला तो resum edit करुन त्या मधे (Music) हे काढुन टाकाव लागेल अस सांगीतल, मला खुप वाईट वाटल की.. मी engineering मुले संगीत-गायन चा क्लास सोडला.
माझ वय 25 आहे, मला माहीती आहे गायन व संगीत यासाठी आयुष्य कमी पडत शिकण्यासाटी पण आता मी engineering सोडुन देऊन पुणे विद्यापीठ मधे B.A (MUSIC) याला addmission घेउन मरे पर्यन्त जीवनात संगीत शिकाव अस वाटत आहे. तस ही मी ज्या college मधे शिकतो ते बंद होणार आहे. तुझे गाणे व आलाप ऐकले की मला अंगावरती शहारे येतात. संगीत आणी परमेश्वरची भक्ति समान आहे संगीत साधना आहे, मी जाणतो आहे. या वया मधे लोक पार्श्वगायन करतात पण मी या वयात शिकायला निघालोय मला मार्गदर्शन ची गरज आहे so plz......
