Sometimes, I think that going back to being anorexic would be easier because days in recovery can be really challenging, but then I watch a video and see how full of life, love and happiness you have become since letting go of your eating disorder and it just makes me want to fight even harder, thank you so much for always being inspiring and beautiful… It might be weird to hear a stranger on the Internet say this but you mean the world to me
From literally looking like you were going to die a few years ago, to becoming healthy enough to actually concieve, that's proof of how far you have come! Well done! It's literally like you have come back to the land of the living
Also getting a period doesn’t mean you’re healthy enough to conceive necessarily. I had an ED and got mine back at a weight considered “anorexic.” I know it’s not the weight that defines the illness entirely but my point is I was no where near a “healthy” weight at least for 99% of people. A severely underweight person such as myself can get and maintain a period for a variety of reasons (birth control maybe but I’ve never taken it) and that doesn’t mean they are actually healthy at all. However elzani does appear to have a very good relationship with food that is reflected by her recent videos which I’m so happy and inspired to see. Just pointing out it’s not that simple for everyone.
@Moon Child I refer you to the video she made 3 years ago titled anorexia is killing me if I don't do this I will die. Anorexia and eating disorders kill. I'm sorry but I expressed myself truthfully. Elzani I hope you stay strong forever. There is no way back now x
@@pidetods5880 Thank you for addressing this. I'm just going to be honest and say I found this video/conversation around getting your period and/or not getting your period quite triggering! And I am the most surprised as this is coming from somebody who is rarely triggered. Similiar to yourself, the first time I lost quite a bit of weight my periods did stop but they came back after minimal weight gain. Fast forward a few years later and I lost even more weight than the first time and my periods never stopped! Of course a part of me saw it as a sign of failure. To my mind, talking about whether you lost your period or not is just as harmful as discussing numbers/BMI as it is yet another metric by which we can measure and compare. Ignorance was bliss! I 100% know that no harm was intended but that is just how I feel.
@@rewindirreversibly If you think discussions of periods or BMI are “harmful” then you’d be better to just not watch any health, weight or food-related videos. This is a brave young woman who brought herself back from the brink of death and is now regaining her life and health. She’s every right to celebrate and to be open about regaining her periods - it’s an important marker in her journey back to health.
@ rewindirreversibly Yes exactly! It is not much of a marker for health imo. I wasn’t so much triggered by this personally or else I wouldn’t have clicked on the video but I completely relate. It definitely annoys me to say the least that people talk about it like that. Maybe they just don’t know idk. I definitely found this kind of content very triggering though when I was in a much darker place with my ED. I was having many other signs of being sick but I would still get my period for a long time so I used it like a “justification” to keep restricting. Very sad that I felt that way, and I hope you are doing well with your journey.
Love the period cake, and how lovely of your family to share this event with you without feeling weird about it, I wish the taboo about periods was gone entirely! You're amazing, I'm proud of you
The last time I saw you, you were literally dying and I couldnt find your channel anymore because I forget your name. Today it video appears in "recommend". Its the first time I see you in a while and let me say that Im so proud of you girl! You look happy, healthy, alive, pretty. Youre such an inspiration for many people to recover < 3. We love you so much!
You have no idea how much you mean to me! I got my period this year also after 6 years of not having one due to my eating disorder. I gained over 50 pounds during quarantine because of your positive influence. You deserve so much more hype, and congrats to 34K on IG. 💕
Today, I finally made the leap to properly start challenging myself and get out of this quasi-recovery living. It’s not really living tbh, I’m eating enough to keep me going but keeping inside my comfort zone with my “safe” foods. But, after watching SO many of your videos whilst you were in recovery, I know this is the only option I have, because I can no longer keep doing this to myself. I can no longer keep starving all day every day, no matter how much I eat, and not trying all the AMAZING food that I always dream about but never actually try. Today I went on a HUGE food shop with my mum and bought so many foods that I’ve been avoiding because I class them as “unhealthy” or “scary”. That’s ridiculous, because no food is unhealthy, and no food is scary. Food is just food. And food is amazing. We need it to live, and not just survive, but really LIVE. I am going ALL IN! Listening and responding to every single hunger cue I get. And NOT restricting, no matter how much I want to. If anyone else reading this wants to join me on this journey to a better life, please reply and we can do this together!
I am so proud of you! You can do it, I believe it you! Sending you lots of love and strength! Recovery is hard but it is doable and the absolute best choice you could ever make. You can do this!❤️
Elzani that’s amazing, well done you. My period was starved away too when I was very ill with anorexia. It never came back , but I was already 47 when it disappeared ( it had been regular before then). It is wonderful that you have saved yourself from literally the brink of death, but please don’t stop making your videos! They make my week, and still make this old gal think she can be as brave as you xx
Yaaay! Thankyou for sharing this milestone with us :) I lost my period for 10 years & remember the fear it wouldn't come back and the overwhelming gratitude when it did. You have become such a bright light in the online recovery community. Keep shining x

Elzani I’m so happy for you. I know how exciting it is for your body to become healthy again enough for natural processes to start back up and it feels like a victory. Most people say things like “wow your lucky you haven’t had your period I hate it” but when you loose that it is scary and makes you feel like you are less than a woman or just not right and when it comes back it’s like wow I am finally healthy again and I’m able to be who I’m supposed to be. I’m dealing with very messed up ones now but I’m glad to have it back atleast. Congrats on all your progress I’m so proud of you. ❤️❤️
