Bruce Soord reveals on the forthcoming album "“Conceptually ‘It Leads To This’ continues my desire to observe and (try to) make sense of life and the world around me. It’s all there in the lyrics.
The initial concept for the songs came together very quickly but the final lyrical and musical elements took a huge amount of work to piece together between the four of us, at least to a point where we were all satisfied. After so long in the business, being 'satisfied' is constantly being pushed further, constantly redefined. That's the thing, we just kept pushing...”

I'm sure most of you came to praise Gavin's drumming, and we can all agree that the guy is out of this world. However, it's important to also acknowledge Bruce's exceptional work on the guitar and his melancholic beautiful voice. I have always appreciated Bruce's contributions to TPT and other musical projects. In general, this band's creativity and talent are truly next level!
I feel the guy in the band who really deserves a lot more recognition is bassist Jon Sykes. The guy is awesome, cool as fuck and does amazing backing vox.
For me I found this band through Gavin because of Porcupine Tree. I tried listening to pre-gavin pineapple but couldn't get in to it much. Having an insane foundation like Gavin gives all the other band members a path that works so well.
What would Tool be without Danny? What would A Perfect Circle be without Billy?
Agreed. Steven Wilson often speaks of Gavin's effect when he joined Porcupine Tree. Everyone had to up their game. He's having the same effect here. Bruce wrote this in seven..

New TPT music always needs to grow on me. It's interesting to me how much I like this song after a few more spins compared to when I first heard it. I love the lyrics and the vocal lines and the middle part with the harmonies is so beautiful! The bassline is just sexy and I think the stunning hi-hat work and the subtle different ways that Harrison plays his fills here, is like a velvet coat. Again a beautiful song that makes me look forward to the new album.
Agreed, TPT music has to grow on me as well, rarely does any one of their songs grab me at first listen. It does over time grow on me and only then do I find their albums enjoyable.

@@ViiOlet810 yep, same guy. Absolute legend. There's a lot of videos of him online at clinics and stuff (Drumeo as well). Definitely worth digging into. The man's a gentleman as well, real pleasure to listen to.
