Dark Souls 3 - Walkthrough Part 10: Cleansing Chapel

- Dark Souls III is an action role-playing game set in a third-person perspective. According to director Hidetaka Miyazaki, the game's gameplay design "follows closely from Dark Souls II". Players are equipped with a variety of weapons including shortbows, explosives like fire bombs, greatswords and dual-wielding swords to fight against enemies, and shields that can be used to deflect an enemies' attack and protect the player from suffering damage. In addition, attacks can be evaded through dodge-rolling. Bonfires, which serve as checkpoints, also return from previous installments.
Ashes, according to Miyazaki, will play an important role in the game. Magic is also featured in the game. Each attack has two different styles. One of them is standard attack, while another provides power-ups to players, and is slightly more powerful. When performing miracles and spells, the players' magic points are consumed and decreased. In order to refilled these points, they need to consume Ash Estus Flask. There are two different Estus Flasks in the game. One of them can help refill magic points, while another refill hit points. Combat and movements were made faster and more fluid in Dark Souls III. Several players' movements, such as backstepping and swinging heavy weapons, can be performed more rapidly, allowing players to deal more damage in a short period of time.
Throughout the game, players encounter different types of enemies, each with different behaviors. Some of them change their combat pattern during battles. New combat features are introduced in Dark Souls III, including "Ready Stance", which are special abilities for players that allow them to deal much more damage to enemies than ordinary attacks are capable of. Small gravestones are also introduced. These gravestones light up when interacted with and not only serve as players' torches, but also provide additional lore to the game.
The game puts more focus on role-playing, in which the character builder is expanded and weapons are improved to provide more tactical options to players. The game features fewer maps than its predecessor Dark Souls II, but levels were interconnected and were made larger, which encourages exploration. The agility stat from Dark Souls II was removed from Dark Souls III. The game also features multiplayer elements, like the previous games in the series.

At that spot where the guys were throwing that thing that prevents estus flask usage, I prepared myself, said "let's do this", entered the area to attack the first guy, got hit, mama witch hit me, they all gang banged me and I died. I rate this game 10/10.
Yea I can relate, luv the disclaimer " This is Dark souls & You will Die,..ALOT " ! LOL good times !
Dark souls is nothing but an experiment by the government to test the human boundaries and tolerance towards insanity. Nothing else.
I refuse to believe otherwise.
majd That’s actually a good theory
There's should be a disclaimer in the game called "Don't play to reckless!"
@@tomnook8730 Yeah I love how From software can make fair but difficult games so consistently especially when they have such different playstyles.
Dark Souls: Don't play too reckless!
Bloodborne: Positioning is key!
Sekiro: Hesitation is defeat!
When cowboy says this area is riddled instead of tricky, you know shits bouta go down hard.
i ran through the area 3 times and still died.. 4th try i got through to the elevator without fighting..
Lol
First time playing, got to the "deceitful pack" at the shortcut door and boy I got wrecked. Have to run past everything, got the shortcut, got wrecked by the pack again and the moved on 😂
I lost so many souls…
This area is infinitely harder than its boss.
That’s how it was for Curse Rotted Greatwood for me
That's the great thing about this game. It's unpredictable.
When you use the Sharpen Kill on the Butcher Knife it doesnt show that aura on your body anymore and the noise of health returning is gone. Is that new?
I had a hard time with this boss.
everything after high wall is harder than that area boss.
Hey Cowboy, you probably know this by now, but incase you don't (or if it helps someone else). You don't have to press "down" many times to get to your Estas flask, you can just hold the button for about half a sec.
Thx did not know that
Thank you!
Legend.
omg ty so much so fucking helpful jeez have died so many times going crazy looking for the estus flask & skipping over it haha
awesome, glad I could help some of you out!
He's like the Bob Ross of Dark Souls, if you're as high as I am.
Bob Ross didn't mess up, just made happy mistakes, lol
He sounds like Brian Griffin from family guy
Rhyce Bell so Seth McFarlane I can kind of see it lol
who's ready to get stoned as fuck and play Demon souls on PS5?! wooohooooo!
Where all the 2024 people at
👋
Hello
I'm a 1987 person. Still here though
Aaaaaaay 😎👉
I am here. Dark souls 3 first time
These are by far the best walkthroughs I've ever seen. FightinCowboy preps for these and the pace is just right. There is so much junk out there. Thank you.
On my first ever playthrough of DS3 in 2024 thank goodness for guides like this.
Same, did 2 just a few weeks ago. I enjoyed it not sure why it gets so much hate
Did you notice that when there's that glowy effect upon defeating an enemy, your estus gets refilled by +1. It happened when you killed the lady stuck in the statue.
ircas89 You Can Also See Estus Essence Flow, In The Form of A Gold Plume of Particles, If You Look Closely After Killing An Enemy.
Yeah it's a thing that will happen every once in awhile, I still haven't figured out what triggers it to happen all I know is that it won't fill about what you have alloted and it won't refill Ashen Flasks.
as you kill enemies their life essence fills a hidden gauge to refill estus flasks.
How do?
Im only playing DS3 for the first time in 2019. I play an area and then watch your play through for that area. That spider room, FML. That thing landed on top of me last night and I pretty much turned into a child. Awesome series and loving DS3 as this is my first play through in the DS series.
same
Not sure if anybody's noticed, but Greirat sells firebombs and they're a lot cheaper (50 compared to 100 from the maiden).
says the one who killed greirat
Sir Spike what’d he do?
Sir Spike You talk like the npc is a real person. Wtf is wrong with you lol
@@GreenSlug420 might as well be I love the guy
A tip for whom it may concern, if you have a fire infused weapon (i chose mercenary and chose fire gem for fire sellsword twinblades) this area is incredibly easy especially the area with all the maggot and zombie guys because when you hit them with fire they sit there burning for a good 3-4 seconds.
I think you have another area in mind ;-) Here you have a lot of hollows, those quick af short guys and dual blade wielding idk-what -they-are
PSA: Fire Bomb's are only 50 souls when you buy them from Greirat, half what the lady is charging.
Happy Hollowing =]
WooT to da N7 - this march M4 oh yeaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAA ! WoooooooT !

Been following your guides for a while now. Just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to do them. They are invaluable as well as mildly entertaining. Great work man, I appreciate it.
every time I play dark souls 3 I find my self going back to your walkthroughs, even though I've played it too many times to count and every time the memories flood back in.
Legends say that until this day Cowboy is still playing dark souls 3 and haven't bought any bolts for the crossbow.
Your the real OG for warning people with arachnophobia. Gave us all a second to prepare ourselves for the enemy. I have arachnophobia but that enemy wasn’t so bad. Not as bad as some other spiders in other video games.
Skyrim moment
I love your walkthrough. Best walkthrough on CZcams for sure. Keep up the good work man.
By far, the best walkthrough of Dark Souls...I may not be able to kill enemies as easy as you but still so good!!
You got lucky with the other dancer that got glitched I swear to god I almost broke the controller trying to go through them.
Jon Ayuco I usually lure one to me as I pass through there
try to lure one and then kill him and then kill the other one you need they arw not a problem to me because at the first boss from here you can get 6 estus shard if you explore
Jon Ayuco I just waited until they use their 3 hit combo. After that, go to town
casual.
it's easy peasy if you go up top to where he mentioned was a good plunge attack spot hit the first one with an arrow and as she goes toward the stairs plunge attack her there. The second one is a bitch tho because you also get bombarded by jihadists out of nowhere while fighting her and i don't think she actually comes down into that spot for you to pull her like the first. I feel like not many people played world of warcraft who play this.... if you did you'd realize there's so many mobs you can just arrow pull to deal with less threats at once.
"I've gone too far in this series without dying"
Skeleton Dog: "Am I a joke to you?
That beginning part of the chapel made me lose 10k souls, idk where I'd be without this guide all these years later
"I wouldn't even go as far to call it a mini boss because you know... it's already dead." lmao
I'm 55 and I'm still stuck on the Cleansing Chapel, i have no idea where to go. until I started doing research and came across this playlist. THANKS! :D
I fucking hate this area so much
Not Steve Action-Adventure RPGs usually have the areas becoming harder the farther you go.
I wanted to say I am really enjoying your walkthrough and I appreciate all of the great work you put into making these. It is fun to play through an area then come on here to see what I missed or to hear explanations of how things work. Thank you for your time and effort.
Thanks buddy
I’m a first time dark souls player so I had no clue wtf to do with myself in this game but FIGHTINCOWBOY The savior has helped me so much ThankYou for guiding me in these dark times COWBOY!
I havnt finished watching the walkthroughs but literally because of you. You helped me get into the the game. I'm a new comer wasnt feeling it saw your walkthroughs and now I freaking love this game
I blame the Lloyd's Sword Ring for his death, he wasted many estus on Kirk just to do more damage.
I agree. The damage boost wasn't worth making himself vulnerable
I’m following along as a deprived going for a dex build and am going to use the Uchigatana as long as I can. Loving the parry skill that it has. So much fun and it’s devastating gettting reposts on almost every enemy.
I’m playing slightly ahead of you to avoid spoilers but to also see if I avoid stuff along the way but I’m glad I’m not the only one who had a hard time This this portion. Thanks for the vids!
i dont even know why but i still cant belive this game. i dont even played by my self but for me its one of the rare legendary games you just can watch for hours and still get banned. i would wish for endles more of this advature. just an awesome game
Cowboy i know im late to the game, but ive been watching your walkthroughs since i started, and they've really helped me alot man, thanks so much for making these kick ass awesome videos
Thank you so much for showing me how to open that door. I had no Estus left after the fight with the 2 wardens and I didn’t feel like going through that section for the 20th time(especially since it was the only time I had ever killed a warden and I was freaking out)You’re a life saver.
Why does it seem like you're so much damn stronger than me...
philly b he did a very thought out build if u don’t do it right he would look like a total noob
@@bobbob5007 I had a stroke reading this
Well, he is using a strength build
Not stronger, but enemies are weaker as he explains at the very first episode, the patch hadnt released yet at that time.
Lmao. Im level 40 and hes 26 something. Yet he's still stronger.
FYI, instead of using firebombs on those resilient blobs, you could just get the pyromancer glove from the NPC, and purchase one of the fire spells. I find it handy to have fire at will.
I agree it does make things easier
My suggestion for this area is to stock up on arrows (upgraded as far as you can at this point) and use the bow to take down enemies at range. If your bow is at +3 or so you can potentially one shot kill the regular sword/spear guys with a shot to the head.
The bow can also be used to draw enemies toward you to kill safely away from groups or the fatties or provoke the sneakies toward you.
Flynn's Ring is practically useless. It boosts your attack power by up to 15% but drops off *_severely_* quickly. You need to be under *_2.4_* total equip load to receive the full effect. Not 2.4%, but a flat *_2.4 units_*. At a mere *_30 units_* you will not be getting _any_ bonus attack power.
Also you will actually _never_ get the full 15% boost even if you stay that low on weight, because the ring itself weighs 0.9 units, which means the most you can possibly get from the ring is a 14.12% damage increase.
The only thing it's good for is gimmicky low-armor builds.
EDIT: Spelling :(
+NumPad 2.4?! It is useless.
Tip for those just now playing, like me: buy bombs from Greirat. Only 50 souls vs her selling them for 100.
I have over 100,000 souls I think I’ll be okay but I’ll keep that in mind for when I’m broke
sep - 2023! love the walkthrough its really helping!
Hardest part for the early game like as fuck i rage quit every time
Great series, dude! Easy to follow and full step by step info, even about most items (many forget how important this kind of info is while doing a walkthrough) though you don't waste your time. Love it!
This place has killed me the most since the High Wall when I first started the game. What a nightmare....
Oh my goodness, I am so happy right now ^_^ In my 5 playthroughs of the game I have always JUST made it to the next bonfire with no estus and basically no health. But this time I got to the end and with all the items with 7 estus left and full health. Thank you so much ^_^
I actually never knew about rooftop you have to reach by jumping, until I saw your video! While its odd that there's no loot up there, it still makes for an excellent sniper spot to eliminate most of the enemies that would otherwise ambush you. Using that spot for sniping while keeping some firebombs handy saves you a ton of estus from what I've found.
If you jump down from that area to the little platform to the right you can kill 4 thralls that otherwise ambush you as well, I know I’m late but maybe a new player will see lol
For those just tuning in, Flynn's Ring doesn't do anything for Cowboy's build. The ring gives no attack rating at around 30 weight. I'm pretty sure he knows this now.
From the wiki: "For example: At roughly 10 weight, the damage is down to 7-8%, and at 20 it's down to 3-4%, and it caps at roughly 30 with no gain."
Furthermore: "For the full 15% (or 14.12%) increase, you need to be under 2.4 weight (the ring itself weights 0.9). It has a use for low level builds or very low-weight builds, although don't expect the full 15% AR increase."
Cowboy, found you via 1st Elden Ring Playthrough and Beat it!!! You’re guides are VERY appreciated and now I’m going back playing Dark Souls 3!!! This part is alittle tough lol you make it look easy.
Just wanna say how super-awesome this walktrough is, super-awesome narrative and everything. I've played WoW for 10 years, so I've skipped on many great titles in this time including all Dark Souls series, so this is the first DS for me and I must admit, I was quite struggling at start. Especially the first boss almost made me quit.. So by now, I've quite figured out the mechanics and whats what in the game, but I'm still watching this walktrough, because it gives me ton of useful information, (like I would never figure out to burn those maggots with torch on my own) so its way more comfortable for me to know whats ahead of me, even though it spoils stuff for me and it does feel a bit like cheating. Anyway, this was already Part 10, so i felt the need to express my thanks and really compliment this awesome walktrough of awesome game. Thanks.
I got Kirk down to 20% health then he got a couple good hits on me and the little guy snuck up behind me and finished me off. I was so pissed lol
Watching this after I just finished this section of the game to make sure I haven’t missed anything. That “spider-dog” as you called it scared the absolute shit out of me. Like startled to the point of controller flying out of hands. I’m not ashamed to admit I screamed and whimpered
Dear lord this game is so fucking hard. I keep praying for another bond fire to come at every corner
Same
Don't rage quit.
+Arnar Er Besturson I'm pretty far but it got so hard that it's not even fun anymore. I put in all those hours and don't really see any end to this.. Just same old shit accept they hit you 2 times and you die .
+ripperx444 try making a new guy and start from scratch. I was about to rage quit once until I started a new character and went through three or four areas in under two hours. It really boosts your morale and re-envigoutates you.
+Arnar Er Besturson I think I messed up when I changed my dudes specs at rosaries thing. I was going streaghth build and then switched to dexterity and I also didn't know not to use the boss souls and I sold that ultra sword ..
Him at 9:53 : "Not Today"
Me watching in 2020 after the GoT series is finished : "time traveler spotted"
Brilliant walkthrough series. Thank you!
Def best series for this game on CZcams at the moment, and ive seen just about all of them. Keep it up!
so you call them mini dancers...would you tell them to hold you closer, tiny dancers?
Mini cancers
Lol nice
Call them whatever you want thats what makes these videos so great the names you give the creatures and such
The giant, instead of running past it, I went higher up to the ledge where he just pops his head. He just attacks when you get close, so I just got a few hits in when he lands his fists. It took a few minutes but he died and I didn't take any damage
The point of the ledge at 5:00 is to jump of the side to take the little hat guys by suprise so they don't jump down on you
Lucky bastard...those double dual wielders keep fucking me up, and I can't get lucky enough to have one glitch into the wall like that lol. The single one earlier on is pretty cheese at this point, but I can't get an opening on either of the two because they cover each other almost flawlessly every time I come up against them.
Also, I need two more titanite shards to get the butcher knife to +3...I also upgraded a longbow once, the deep axe twice before getting to the point where you first mentioned upgrading in regard to the butcher knife, and the that 100% physical shield from Highwall once. :p
I noticed with the spider beast thing, that you can run in and have him jump down and roll back out of the door way. Making him stuck in the door way and take virtually no damage while killing him. Thanks for the walk through though! So helpful!
THE REAL WALKTHROUGHS ALWAYS IN THE COMMENTS, fuck sake im a master at killing the knight but the spider killed me like 20 times
It's cute how you have notes.
IS THAT MCCONNELLL
I haven’t seen anyone talk about this yet but I found a soul farm location in cleansing chapel I still haven’t determine how much you get for 10 minutes or anything like that but basically this is how it goes go out kill the dudes who were previously guarding the estus shard go down to the lower section (with the 3 maggot monsters) kill them (I highly recommend using fire like for example: fire ball,or fire bomb, etc basically anything fire related attacks) and after you kill all 3 of them take the shortcut to the bonfire and repeat. Also you could kill the two guys with flaming knives right outside the chapel for a bit of extra souls.
1:12 As a mage, these are a pain in the ass to deal with.
Man I got absolutely dummied by the 1st bonfire checkpoint a long time.
But your walkthrough helped and I thought it was a lot of fun to play
burn those bone shardsssss
After winning so many battles as a ninja, I don't want to get MSD strains on my limbs and fingers, so I used trainer to get all the miracles and pyromancy! ... And all the level ups! Then it became a first person shooter game with explosive arrows, etc ... So much projectile fun!
How I got more used to parry timing: I always assumed it was just a hair later than I thought. So I would hesitate just like a fraction of a second longer than I thought it would be, and I hit it almost every time
Oh, also with that ramp area where you take out the ambush guys, you can jump down from there and take out 3 more ambush guys, instead of getting ganked
21:25 I know this video is old but I respect that arachnophobia warning a lot. I don't have it personally, but that's really awesome to see!
Nice walkthrough and with good tips, playing dextgery build with katana :D

I've just now started getting into Dark Souls and I was able to use your videos to help me with the first two. Currently working on this game and for the actual first time I'm saying "fuck this place". Even with your walkthrough this area is ridiculous.
WHERE IS THE LADDER?????
ikr
😭😭😭 I'm wuth the same bs bro sent me completely off
I rested right after the elevato....ladder and paused to watch the walkthrough and the duel wielding enemy found me and killed me while on the staircase
why isnt the ladder there for me
Dude, thank youfor your videos. I just now started playing this amazing game. I usually clear an area first myself then watch your video to see if I missed anything. Thanks for your work!
When Kirk killed ya, I just can't avoid to laugh xD real sry but the timing was just too good x)
I like this Walktrough, good job CoWBoY keep goin!! ;)
Cowboy: Your going to want to run past the giant as fast as you can.
Me: *Kills giant instead*
Since my character is a mage i actually managed to kill that giant by casting magic at him and hiding each time
20:50 is by FAR the hardest part of the game for me. First time since following this walkthrough I’ve been actually stuck
Dude was easy since I farmed a little for greatsword and it's all I main, I have like 64 equip load too so I can wear all the exile armor lol.
come ooon days go faster we need this
Small question, Im on this part, and attempted to take the shortcut. There is no ladder in the first segment that skips the grave yard. I don't understand
Yeah same here there's nothing in there but caskets😢
TheUltimateEbil You need to have kicked it down from the top by going through the grave yard first. You do need to kill a dancer but I suggest just make a run for the small building which leads to the ladder. When the dancer then goes for you just dodge him so he falls off the top.
TheUltimateEbil watch the last episode
Thats why you should stay playing tf2 ds3 is hard m8
you can get kirks armour if you go to the room with the respec lady before taking on the boss.
Does she just give it to you? Do you have to beat Kirk first? Sorry for all the questions, I just really want to try out that armor.
can i take it if i beat ze boss?
the double 2 sword girls get me everytime, and I didn't realize the bonfire was just the short cut to the previous.
Anyone else here in 2019??
ME. ahaha And I gotta tell ya, this game is AWESOME, I should have buy it before...
I miss playing this game
Yeahhhh deciding to rewatch while doing a few ng+ runs on my strength build.
Yes first time playing ds3 I play the 2 one both are really good games
Well i am here its 2022
the ambush part, you kill the one guy on the wall drop down on the building below and there are 3 little guys waiting and they will not move until you hit them. then on on the wall. this is just help so you won't get overwhelmed in that area.
theres no ladder for me
+Rey7716 Games He unlocks it during part 9 of walkthrough.
+Bun Biek thanks
Me neither
Great :)
Your walkthroughs keep me playing ds3
I got through the roof part just fine the first time until i went to go fight the group to the right of the large door that you can open then i died lost around 20k souls then went back and died again repeated that about 6 times then almost threw my xbox out my window
Lmaooo
@@kwsssssssssss commented two years ago lmaoooo. Good luck soldier its all worth it.
LOL i love how u just take the frustration on the miss twin blades person by immediately killing the dude just praying to the tree god
In my opinion these scaling weapons really only begin to shine on high reinforcement levels and high attributes. Far as I can tell from 5 characters in this game, there is absolutely no reason to not use a raw astora sword, or any other raw weapon of your choice early on. My pyromancer did heaps more damage one-handed than the strength char here, at a lower stamina cost per swing, faster swings and a more versatile special ability to boot (stance) - with no stat investment to speak of (depending on starting class). It's really too bad, but that's scaling for you, right there.
Just wanted to say that I've been enjoying your Dark Souls 3 walkthrough videos. I'm new to Dark Souls and your videos have been extremely helpful.
I killed the giant from atop that perch that overlooked the entire room
+Aztek4611 same, felt bad about it, but finally thought "Yeah fck it the game does that to me all the time" XD
exactly fuck those giants lol Any guilt I had faded the second I saw that he was in that sludge that made you a standing target.
Question, after you defeat the 2 giants, you can go and fight the boss, so what's the point of going up to Onion guy, just to get tricked and then go on top of the chappel, fight the mega strong knights, just to go back down, pull a leaver and go back where you started from 🤔
After you get "tricked" you can go upstairs to that npc again and buy the onion knight armor set. After that you can go to the well (outside of the cathedral bonfire) talk to the *actual* onion bro who has fallen into that well, give him his armor (because he got stripped out of it and was thrown into the well supposedly) to carry on with his questline.
@@gheus1170 I understand! Thanks 😊
I need to ask a question is it bad I that I already killed the Abyss watchers
@Luvsansunrev Khongorzul What's the problem ?
Prolly already have the answer, but yes and no. You did it out of order, and may have locked yoels questline out, but it's super common and not the end of the world.
I did the same thing. Why *wouldn't* you go through the very obvious big door instead of the tiny easily missed hole in the wall?
This is the exact spot I originally quit the game. Just kept dying to these two. Glad a few years later I gave the game another chance.
FiGhTiNCoWBoY, random question: Every now and then you say things like "Please get out of the way, sir" while killing a mob, giving me a certain vibe. Are you, or were you, a cop by any chance? :-)
Aww. So much for my powers of deduction. :P
I think he's a cowboy, been wondering forever why he's never picked up that whip
+FiGhTiNCoWBoY So your not a cop, obviously, but since your a cowboy, were you once a sheriff?
Smh
The entirety of Cathedral of the Deep seems like a major throwback to DS1 style level design. Lots of small enemies interestingly scattered. Long run without a bonfire meaning you have to conserve your estus. Really wish they designed the levels like this throughout the entire game, because in general I think DS3 is loaded with bonfires which makes exploring an area not very stressful. I like the cathedral a lot.
at this point i have 9 estus and at +2
Naberius CZ you went to the catacombs first too?
@@asbestoz1123 for some reason I have 10. 9 if we count the ashen flask but I alloted it.
If you go to farron keep, you can find an undead bone shard surrounded by slugs. Plus you can pick up an estus shard in that area. I wouldn't worry about poison, as it does minimal damage. Now if you want an extra bone shard, kill the abyss watcher boss and proceed into the catacombs. You will eventually go to some stairs where you have to run from a boulder. It's basically a ball of skeletons. I found this out the hard way when it hit me from behind and sent me off the stairs to my death. So just sprint down them, let it kill the skeletons. When the skeletons in that area are dead, the next time the boulder hits the wall down the stairs, it will break and drop an undead bone shard. So of course there's the one in the undead settlement, and another in the graveyard, outside the catheral. So you can have 9 estus shards and 3 undead bone shards before going inside the cathedral. Also if you want, pick up the estus ring to increase your estus heals even more. When i got in the cathedral, i had 9 estus flask +3, 30 dex, 27 vigor, a +4 sharp astora greatsword, and +3 black knight shield. The black knight shield has higher stability than the lothric knight shield, meaning it costs less stamina to block. If you're wondering where i got the large titanite shards, you get one by making the dragon at high wall fly off by shooting him 50 times. You can also trade a firebomb at the nest to get a large titanite shard. If you got the 2 titanite shards in the catacombs, you can get 2 more large titanite shards by killing the giants in the cathedral. So you can get a +5 weapon before that fight. That is if of course, you don't kill the dancer and farm the knights in lothric castle.
Elevator, stairs, escalator, beam me up Scotty
7:54
Im at this point with 2%hp 0 estus flasks and no homeward bones...
Honestly, Just go to the Farron Keep first and get the estus shard and bone shard. I reached the shortcut with 7 estus left :/
Granted, I leveled up my Butcher Knife to +4 and died a bunch of times to the stupid thralls and I know that you're already finished the game so why did I bother to write this?
tip about the giant, there are actually corner alcoves you can camp in for a moment. hero try to grab you one time, but if your on the corner farthest from him, you'll be fine. after he tries to grab you, he'll just smash his hand into the corner, so you can run to the next corner as soon as he starts the next animation. makes it a little safer:)
