If you have bunch of elite relievers, the starters don't have to go 5-6 innings in the playoffs. Even 3 innings is fine and utilize the best reliever based on situation.
@@damonlavender2554 Yamamoto won’t make it, too frail but outstanding when healthy. Glasnow is having an awesome season, but hasn’t thrown over 120 innings in a year. We’ll see how the “baby giraffe” goes in Sept. or Oct.

Happy to not see the Lux bashing today in chat. He went 2 for 3 with a walk and run scored. I don't want to see Robert on the team, there are enough guys with low batting averages currently. I'm concerned with Will Smith struggling at plate. Miggy is impressing since his call up.
Will Smith may eventually have to switch positions. He was an infielder at one point.

Dodgers finally got bona-fide 50 HR slugger in Sho. Seems like Smith is overrated so use Austin more. CT3 still a ways from Mendoza Line, but hopefully coming around.

Bull pen did come through, but it's the White Sox. The schedule is scary for the month of july, playing Philly and other 1st place teams.

it's almost like pitchers that get injured should stay down in Triple A until they are actually needed rushing them to pitch in meaningless regular season games is not helping clearly.

Thank goodness for Glasnow, because this staff is a mess. Hope they monitor his pitch count through the rest of the season, though, as he's likely headed for far more innings than ever before in his career this season.

Glad to see Rojas lay into Miller. Quit being soft and get after the hitters. It's just sad that it was a player - not Roberts, who is soft as Charmin - to do it first.
I'm happy for the recent wins, but this pitching staff and the back half of the batting order are a mess. Beating up weak sisters doesn't mean you have a team ready for postseason play.

Time to consider Smith to play another position. He is rather short and slim for a catcher (5'10 195 lbs). If only he was stocky like Pudge or Yadier Molina from back in the day or Cal Raleigh of the Mariners, he might be able to withstand the daily grind. What good does it do for rest of the lineup if he needs to rest 20% of the season? Even if he is playing, he's not raking like he was at the beginning when there was little to no aches and pain. His slugging % is going down each year, a clear indicator that he cant hit at elite level like he did his first 2 seasons. His first 2 seasons he played less than 100 ges each. Soon after he started playing 162 game season, his slugging % has been less than .500. I bet if he played the infield like he did in the past, he's going to start raking.

Little Bobby is all worried about impressing everybody. (Especially Mommy and Daddy and the 28 members of their entourage at the stadium) in complete contrast with Michael Peterson who is just glad to be in MLB. As embarrassing as it may be, the Dodgers need to have a conversation with Miller and Buehler about surrendering their pitches to the pitching coach. Yes, have the pitching coach call the game…why? Clearly Will Smith does not call a good game nor does Miller and Buehler know how to get outs without throwing 100 pitches in less than 5 innings. Bad game caller behind the plate and pitchers that want to use every pitch against every hitter is not a good combination. Little league it, and have someone who can call a good game do so…

He can play any position, his old managers have all said he'd be a hall of fame outfielder if he wanted to. He's just rehabbing his pitching arm so better not to make him throw unnecessary long throws.
