I've learned from various documentaries, that, being archosaurs (as are/were dinosaurs & pterosaurs), crocodilians are cousins of dinosaurs, but aren't dinosaurs themselves. And that all birds ARE, in fact, highly evolved therapod dinosaurs, with the chicken being the closest living relative of Tyrannosaurus rex.
