  • The Democratic Republic of Congo has been enduring a devastating conflict often dubbed as an "African World War," resulting in the loss of over 6 million lives and displacing more than 6 million people. Despite its severity, the international community has largely overlooked the crisis, focusing instead on conflicts like those in Ukraine and Gaza. This video aims to shed light on the ongoing situation in Congo, exploring why the conflict persists and why it receives minimal attention compared to other global crises.

It is escalating because the world hasn't focused on strengthening the government, public institutions, private sector and infrastructure of Congo. So it is easy to exploit the natural resources.

More than 10 million dead, 500,000 women raped and still silence. Between April and July 1994, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), formerly Zaire, was invaded by an influx of Rwandan refugees and since then it has been constantly attacked and looted by troops from Rwanda and Uganda. What is happening in Congo where the deaths are now counted over 10 million and the rapes in the hundreds of thousands.
Since 1994 theres been a witnessing of the masked invasion of the Congo (DRC) by militias and troops of Paul Kagame, the Rwandan head of state initially supported by the Clinton administration and then by France in Nicholas Sarkozy. Based on testimonies and documents from the CIA, the archives of the White House, the Elysée and the European Union. The United States trained this man (Kagame) without faith or law, to serve their interests in the DRC, the Central African Republic, Congo-Brazzaville, and other Central African states where the war between the West, China and Russia is fierce for the control of strategic mineral resources. Insatiable predators carve the DRC and plunder its wealth.
Research shows programmed extermination of local populations when several heads of state in the region and a European ambassador have already been assassinated. Above all, the killing of the DRC is organized by using terror and lies in order to seize essential minerals for the world industry of armaments, mobile telephony and transition energy (EV battery). An explosive document behind the scenes of the gigantic massacre of human beings which takes place.

@@thabangtladi8057 wrong! Congo war started in 1998 not before independence and is that not even more reason to end it since its gone on for too long? . So if Congo is a failed nation what do you call the one SA makes so much noise about? Noise to the point of attracting US sanctions. Is palastine even a nation? A failed nation is better than a nation full of ego driven people looking for failure aka South Africa. Now SA is busy attracting sanctions. Can't even keep the lights on. No water coming out the taps in cities but calling for sanctions to come. Can't learn from Zimbabwe.
When somebody tells you the truth it is not mockery, it's so you fix what is wrong. Land in South Africa is owned by whites. The economy is run by whites and this is in Africa. The highest rate of inequality in the world while black South Africans just want to get government grant. That's the truth, deal with it. So you cannot help your own brother in need because they told you the truth? How petty is that??? 6 million dead in Congo vs 200 thousand in Palestine and you can't even give a voice to that choosing to fight an overseas war that has nothing to do with you because they called yoh put to fix what's wrong. So petty. Shameful!

Shut the fuck up. I’m tired of Africans always making excuses. African corrupt useless presidents or leaders vacation in European countries or stinky ass Arab countries spending millions of dollars. African heads of states don’t look out for their people’s interests. Other groups of people may be corrupt but they spend money in their own countries to at least benefit their people indirectly. Them foolish African heads of states go shopping and buying properties they will never use in their lifetime in the western world. There’s two sides to this. Most African heads of states are groomed puppets and smart ones who refuse to be puppets are all killed by the west. . Example: Gadaffi from Libya, Magufuli from Tanzania, or Thomas Sankara from Burkina Faso. And many more. That said, being African, I blame my useless brain empty African heads of nations before I blame westerners or Arabs. I would loot, pillage, and steal resources from African nations if I was the western world because Africans themselves are too ignorant to know how to exploit their natural resources for their peoples’ benefits. It all starts by being honest with ourselves.

In my humble opinion, the DRC war is harder to moderate. The Hutsi/Tutsi war is hard to understand because it's Africa against Africa. Ramaphosa's involvement would be seen as taking sides against specific people of Africa. There is no clear-cut line where justice is being overstepped. I've grown up understanding that one nation discriminated against the other based on physical features. Its probably much more than that and I do not know what politics lie behind that, but this can only be solved if one of the two nations walks the high road.

Recently the president deployed 2900 soldiers with sufficient artillery to assist until December - What more do you guys expect? Why are other SADC countries not helping out? I think y'all are just trying to squeeze the last droplet out of the already strained SAn economy.@@sithabelamandlawenkosiwodu6298

They need to stop the infiltration of arms. The leaders, and politicians need to be governed by rules and emulate good governance that West or foreign investors will follow while being in DRC Congo. That is the most simplistic ignorant statement ever. Let’s ignore that Congo has 200+ more armed groups, most dating back to the 80‘s which never stopped fighting. Congo just highlights Tutsis as a scapegoat to their widespread governance problems. Also, they supported the genocidal regime, trained them and gave them refuge while they were armed A stone’s throw away from Rwandan territory. Congo help flee hundreds of genocide suspects abroad to Europe. Congo was so much involved in The genocide against the Tutsi that Habyarimana‘s body was found in Mobutus palace. Also Congo had tried to ethnically cleanse Kinyarwanda speakers on its territory as early as 65, carrying out land ceasing and refusing them of voting rights. Congos leadership is to blame for all the misery they go through, im not pleased by it, but it’s stupid and an excuse to pretend a country they’re 80+ times larger than is the root of their issues

For millions of tons of highly valuable rare earth minerals to keep leaving the Congo for a mere pittance every year, the endless proxy wars there must never stop. This is because every industrialized country in the east and the west which depends on these minerals to further develop their economies has a vested interest in perpetuating Congo's incessant instability.
Who doesn't know that instability in Congo breeds instability across the entire region? Who doesn't know that instability across the entire region provides fertile ground for widespread division, corruption and greed? And widespread division, corruption and greed is the mortal enemy of good governance, unity and strength. And in the absense of good governance, unity and strength, poverty, impotence, irrelevance, theft and plunder prevails.

The problem in Eastern Congo is primarily an internal problem, it has been influenced by external players yes, but mostly by ineffective governance from a capital so distant without a single road connecting it to the region.
There are more than 120 groups fighting in Congo, most of whom are paid mercenaries, there have been groups fighting in Congo for as long as anyone alive can remember (mai mai etc).
What really created the current problem in Congo is Mobutu's acceptance of the defeated soldiers of the Rwanda army (former government) and interahamwe militia with their weapons supported by France to regroup, train and settle Congo, the big majority did return to Rwanda but the killers remained. Anybody could employ these people to do whatever and they did, ravaging the communities and securing mines was far more lucrative and easier than their stated objective of fighting their way back to the Rwanda government. The French used them, Belgians, Americans, South Africans, Individual businessmen, Congo generals, Congo governors, President Kabila used them and today Tshisekedi is using them, he calls them Wazalendo.

LDKabila came with Rwandese and Ugandan armies knowing very well they had their own agenda against the then called Zaire. Let me jump a little bit! The war against the M-23 was won by the collaboration between Colonel Mamadu Ndala under the supervision of Tanzania/Monusco in 2012. How could Kinshasa goes in the back to sign an agreement with a vanquished group after? Yes, everyone knows the war is from Rwanda and Uganda -- consider many declaration by general Muhooza, son of Museveni on the subject matter -- but if the president has a wage of 2 millions US$ per month, more than 60% of the national budget go to the Presidency, the Primature and the Congress, how to found the war?

The world isn’t ignoring the conflict, it’s fueling it. As you described, the outside world takes advantage of the conflict, probably primarily for control over the abundant naturally resources.
I believe the conflict could be ended by ending resource extraction until peace is achieved. This would flip the incentive structure for the warring parties. This would itself require external help, of course-to feed people while work stops-but your question was about external help.
Obviously the bloodthirsty, money worshipping capitalist powers would never provide this kind of help, but maybe China would have the will and capacity.

The main reason the west doesnt help out is that there sick of being blamed for all of Africa's short comings. If America or Europe were to put troops on the ground within short time the narrative would be turned around into being about colonialism. At some point you just have to let others find there own way to a peaceful resolution. The Russians tend to play both sides or whatever angle that helps them bleed the continent of its valuable mineral resources. The Chinese see Africa from a business stand point as such they lend large amounts of cash, build infrastructure, educational programs (chinese language) At the same time expect lucrative mineral extraction deals, mineral deposits or strategic locations for military bases are always given as collateral when borrowing money. The Americans and Europeans (except France) have chosen to be content with the use of diplomacy to get what they desire from Africa. The western approach is by no means some universal moral high ground. It comes from years of being told that African issues are for Africans to figure out. Its the same reason the west has given up on trying to help Haiti by putting troops on the ground so instead they send cash. For this exact reason U.N has asked Kenya to step in, the Kenyans see it as a quagmire that will do more damage to there reputation then help the Haitians in the end.

The west are not Africans, so to them it doesn't matter who or how many dies, all they care about is the money that they'll make as long as the country is unstable. It's really sad to think that there are people in the Congo who have never experienced peace and tranquility. Really sad.
