- This is a video of a Troll game I played on the map Rivers Wild on Command and Conquer Red Alert Remastered.
Rules
No tanks or Artillery
No Destroyers / Cruisers
No base crawling into enemy bases

I tried using Ranger's only but on a mega map! Man that was a tough game!! I ended up losing but I put up a hell of a fight with just Rangers.
Got to love Green saying "Defence!!" thinking he's doing a great job defending against you, he just doesn't realise you're trolling and if using regular Tanks he'd be a dead man! hahaha
What surprises me is how most player just forget the importance of map control, which Zack does perfectly
Mad lad. I've always wanted to see this. Rangers have decent hp but their short range gun is what really makes them a bad unit.
Yes they are definitely not good when used against tanks.

Really fun to watch! I guess it is quite frustrating if somebody launches this tactic, and you cannot do anything about it. Although I think green should have build some airstrips and then destroy your ore refineries.
I think the big mistake they made is not expanding their bases to different parts of the map. I got too much map control so had the economy to produce masses of rangers.

Thanks glad you enjoyed it. The map with the fast growing ore is not a bug it was actually designed that way. I remember playing a map like it on Command and Conquer Retaliation on the ps1.
At last the episode I’ve been waiting for, I’ve been meaning to ask for Rangers (they used to be v effective for scouting and anti-infantry when I played the OG). You built a tank but I won’t tell anyone 😅
lol didn't notice that had to watch the replay. Mis-click at least it got destroyed by the tesla.

The rules for the next troll game (5th July) I will be posting is:
Soviets
No tanks / missile launchers
No base crawling into enemy bases.
It means the only types of attack can be by air or by infantry. However the game will probably not be like you are expecting.

If you are open to advice, I’d say start posting some polls with questions on the types of games to show etc. more engagement there will lead to better a better algorithm, more visibility and a great way to interact with your subs outside of the comments section.

Good job, well, I tried Ranger only before, good thing is Ranger can do tank battle, APC can't (APC is more like Artillery, need to toward target to attack), but APC can take more damage, also can crush infantry.
With lots Rangers can do serious damage, if need to against AI will need right map, I tried 7 Hard AI with only Ranger before, but need right map.
troll games are very entertaining, thanks. Good to see the others took it with grace, they'll learn (or should learn) from this experience. Should not be frustrating for others, if they scouted better and/or saw what happened in their first encounter then they'd know something like this was coming and countered with something suitable, such as their own base crawl or something earlier on to stop your map control. Once someone is boxed in and starved of ore it's a game of attrition which the one with ore will most likely win unless some equally non-tank strategy is used such as an APC with some Tanya's, they could've reeked havoc on your base behind the initial turret line, I think I saw one of your videos when this kind of counter was employed and worked pretty well, fight fire with fire.
yes i think the big mistake of theirs was not expanding to the other ore patches sooner. I was able to take control of most of the map and they were very restricted in the ore they could access.

The Rangers didn't seem too bad at taking down harvs. I didn't expect their guns to do much
Yes they didn't seem too bad against harvesters or building. They do get wrecked in tanks battles though.
omg ur opponents were so passive! lol or or you're just so good your opponents seem really bad
In my next troll video lets just say my opponents are not so passive.
Swarms of rangers seemed terrible against tanks but great at base diving buildings. I wonder if you could have dived greens power plants at the back of his base early on?
Yeah rangers are terrible against tanks it makes it very hard. They do seem to do better against building if you can dive them but if the player uses base defences rangers aren't so good.

They both needed to expand out from their bases early on to take control of other ore patches.
