Dr. Choi and Dr. Manning are forced into a patient's family drama when they reveal that she is brain dead from a fall and the parents blame their pot smoking son as a bad influence. Dr. Rhodes continues to struggle both with his personal life and in the operating room, causing Dr. Latham to try and reconcile the tension between him and Dr. Bekkar. Also, Dr. Charles and Dr. Reese deal with a patient whose apparent psychotic behavior manifests through claims that there is something inside him.

If he was so involved in his delusions and hallucinations that he killed someone, I think that indicates more of a need for treatment, not less. Locking him up is now even worse, because he'll end up with even more issues than he currently has.

Welcome to the American prison system. Privatised,overcrowded prisons that get the justice system to put more people in prison so they can make more money.
But justice needs to be served. He killed an innocent person. It doesn’t matter if he is mentally ill, it never justifies taking someone else’s life. Some people either can’t be fixed or don’t deserve to be fixed.

His life is at risk, and so are the lives of the staff, who aren't trained in spotting escalation of symptoms and could very easily do or say the wrong thing to trigger another psychotic eppisode.

Yeah but wanting killers out and zero responsibility for them is not noble. I’m french and a tragedy happened not a long time ago in my country, a former convict shot and burned his wife alive, that’s something that some people are not held accountable for just because some doctors say so but because they’re mentally ill doesn’t mean they’re irresponsible and not evil.
@@flokevfrombx6222 It's not about having zero responsibility. It's about treating their illness. He's a doctor, that's what he does. Treating a mentally ill person like a mentally ill person, does not absolve them of responsibility. Sticking mentally ill people in prison with no treatment at all, risks their lives and the lives of other inmates and prison staff.
Also, evil is a relative term. If someone has a psychotic break, experiences terrifying hallucinations, why does that make them evil? Am I evil for being mentally ill? If someone who is mentally impaired is fully responsible for their actions when their brain goes off the rails, which isoutof their control, then where is the line drawn?
A child is deemed to not be responsible because their brains aren't developed to the point of understanding required for responsibility. That could be considered as impairment. Just like mental illness. Should children be treated like adults? Are they automatically evil if they do something wrong?
Treating mental illness is not absolving people of responsibility. It's making them safer for both themselves and the people around them.

That is literally what happened lmao
Charles was walking away in disgust from the other doctors because they are too dumb to see that the only reason the priest got stabbed was because the crazy homeless guy never got the treatment he needed. And if the idiot cop hadn't decided to fondle his gun and the other idiot doctors hadn't let the sedative wear off Charles would have been able to deescalate the situation and wouldn't almost have gotten killed by the monumental incompetence of the horde of imbeciles that surround him.
I love Doctor Charles so much, he just wants to help people no matter the risk to himself.

As a Veterinary Nurse who was once asked to briefly hold down a dog whilst he had his hip ball razored off (which took a lot of physical force - hence the Vet needing me to keep the dog still on the table) I didn't put on any PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Because I knew that when the hip ball would finally come off it would go shooting in my direction, I was mostly concerned with trying to dodge that whilst holding down the dog (which I thankfully managed to do!)
But halfway through the next surgery the Vet starts laughing and says to the other Vet Nurse, "look at her face!"
I was just like, "what? What's wrong with it?!" and the vet goes, "you have blood on it... and I think a bit of bone..."
I went straight over to the mirror and went, "yep. That's bone. Ew."
Fortunately stuff like that doesn't really bother people who are already working with blood and guts and all that gory stuff anyway! I just wiped the blood and bone off and got back to my job😜
(It would have been funny to see that Dr's reaction if that blood from the artery had gone straight into his mouth/on his face 😂)
