Got to love NS roundabouts! Built for the future where everything will be smaller but used a 1950 dollar budget to construct. There are worse than that yet.
@gmctech 41 seconds ago I drive through this roundabout every day and the plow trucks have a hard enough time navigating it let alone your beast! Antigonish has the WORST and tighest roundabouts I've ever seen! An absolute fail on the idiot engineers whom designed these here! Buddy, locals driving their pulp trucks have a near impossible time rolling through downtown Anti-go-nowhere but you with all your wheels made it seems easy. Thanks for rolling through our town and showing everyone how the big-dogs roll. Again, super props for your skills and the team work by all in this video!
As always, a great video! Lots of credit to you and the crew. Driving thru some tough spots, round a bouts, thru small towns and construction. Trying to keep the 4 wheelers out of the way the whole time.
through the middle of antogonish? crazy!! maybe there was a construction area somewhere to avoid. cape breton to quebec city. gotta love that highway from edmunston to rivierre du loup (northern new brunswick to hwy 20 quebec). it's been under construction for 40 years
Lol I stopped asking why a long time ago. I just follow what they tell me! Yeah it will be nice when that highway to Rivière du loup is finished. They add pieces every year. Probably another 5-10 years 🤣
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 at least 10 years, i drove fredericton to montreal for 35 years, it used to be 2 lane all the way from fredericton to rivierre du loup, some wicked hills north of edmundston as well

Don't you just love roundabouts? At least yours are fairly large; here in the pacific northwest, I drag an Xl 170, and half the time, I am cutting the middle of it if it is all concrete or across the grass or trying to figure out how to get around the fixture they built in the center
Great movie! Hey, I’m always curious about how good your engine braking (no jakes) reduce your speed, comparing heavy vs. empty, and then high vs. low RPM. Can you throw us some light on that, please? Great channel, Sir.
Aren’t you the guy who commented on my videos being boring 😑 With the new engines if you can stay under 2000 rpm they will hold you back pretty good. Obviously the heavier you are the more reduced gear you need to be in. It’s always easier to speed up than slow down so I’ll choose a low gear to start and play with the jake setting to get the correct engine braking for the hill. If I’m a little too fast I’ll throw the manual override for the engine fan and you’ll find the fan will actually hold you back considerably.
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 this is interesting I had noticed that the fan does put a significant load on the engine but I hadn't thought about using it for braking assistance
No steering on this one. There are 2 pivot points so it pulls like 3 trailers. It’s all up to the guy holding the steering wheel upfront and the escorts on the radio for guidance.
Agreed it would be easier! We have some trailers that steer but they are more expensive to buy and operate. Check out some of my other videos and you will see.
Oke will doo , and i am also a truckdriver . And drive through europe . Not with the heavy loads , but i do drive Wide loads . If you would like too know what its like over here , let me know . And i'll try too answers youre questions
Lol. I’m from that area. It’s all new highway between the exits you got off and got back on. Over dimension didn’t appear to be an issue that trip. As a retired driver, I enjoy your videos. Keep ‘em coming.
I know NS gave permits a hard time about the weight. That’s the only reason I needed the deck extension. Some engineer figured out that if we have 6’ bigger wheel base the bridges won’t fall down 🤷🏼♂️
Doug u sure are a smooth Truck Driver.!!!

Doug! You forgot to drive through New Brunswick! You better go back!

Holey MOLEY! Right through downtown Antigonish!?! Wait, what? I get nervous driving my Crown Vic through there!! Amazing skill! Well done, Sir!
I don’t make the permit routes, I just follow em!

Thank you for the nice comments 😊
Cape Breton to Montreal, great set of videos.
Thank you sir! 😊
That trailer is a pretty good load by itself
85,000lbs empty
I was impressed that gantry crane was capable of lifting 126000 lbs 😮
Pretty country. bet good fishing up there.
WOW. Super encore. HOURRA.
I am in New Brunswick and I saw very little of it.

Everything is calculated for a standard size truck. Not much thought for oversize. But if it was easy everyone would be doing it! 😝
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 Maybe you need some Australian road designers over there here we build them big for 3 and 4 trailer road trains
No doubt your roads are better then ours! Our engineers don’t know how to build bridges they are all crumbling.
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 I don't know about being better just a little more though put into turning circles and bridge clearances
So, I bet you're thinking "why am I in this little town?" and all the residents are asking "why is that huge load in our little town?"
Really I’m not a nice person. I take pleasure in blocking up small towns and delaying people 🤣 that’s why I’m there
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 You're doing a wonderful job of it too. LOL Great driving as always.
They even folded and rolled the tarps for you.
They helped me roll them yes. Good customer. 👍

What cameras do you use and what software for editing the video and audio?
Go Pro cameras and I just use an app called Splice on my phone
Do you ever have your cameras out in a thunderstorm or lightning storm?
I havn’t had the opportunity for a nice shot yet but it’s on my list
Doo any of the axels on the trailer stear allong ? Cant see clearly

For long loads a circle is worse.
Encore une belle job de fait copin

Maybe the engineers are using you to prove to the locals that a 100’ long tractor trailer can actually make it through the roundabouts! 😂😂
