The Cremation of His Holiness the 9th Yongdzin Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche

In this special feature produced in collaboration with Thrangu Media, we look back on the cremation of His Holiness the 9th Yongdzin Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche. Thrangu Rinpoche, one of the most senior lamas in the Kagyu school and tutor to His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa, passed away on 4 June 2023. Official commemorations lasting for 49 days as per tradition began on the 9th after his Parinirvana was made known to the public and media. In this video, Venerable Lodro Nyima Rinpoche shares his thoughts about the cremation and reflects on the closing of a life of a great master.
