The Lajoie family is a generational NASCAR family, just like the Allison’s, the Petty’s, the Woods, the Elliot’s, and the Earnhardt’s, and many others. To me, greatness is established by your accomplishments, your character, and the legacy you leave behind. Kenny, I think that everyone knew what you meant when you said it. I appreciate that you stand by your words.

Randy was and Corey is a very good stock car driver, but neither of them have ever achieved "greatness" at the highest level of stock car racing. I like and respect them both as men and race drivers, but greatness is rare by definition.

You're spot on Kenny. I knew what you meant when you posted the video about the last blood lines weeks ago. Randy was never good, and Corey isn't either. Doesn't make them bad people or bad drivers (Randy raced in the cup series and so does Corey), but just cause you race in cup doesn’t mean you are great. You’re good no doubt; have to be to get a chance in that series. But there is a BIG difference between good and great.

In 44 Cup races, Randy has one single top 5. Give me a break when comparing himself to the likes of Bill Elliott. In 249 Cup races, Corey has 4 top 5's. Chase Elliott has 98 Top 5's in 299 races. Silly to think the word "great" be applied to their performance when we are discussing the big league Cup results.

You're absolutely right in one aspect. Most people don't have the self-awareness and honesty to admit who and/or what they really are. The Lajoie's aren't on the same level as the Pettys, Earnhardt's, Elliott's, Wallace's, Labonte's, Allison's, Flock's, Parsons. They are on the level of the Bodines, Green's and Sauter's. I'm not going to say that Chase is the "last" of the great bloodlines, because he could have a kid. Also, Kelly Earnhardt Miller has a son coming up. Not to mention Kyle Busch, Kyle Larson, Kevin Harvick have started a new generation of great bloodlines and have kids that are well on their way to keeping the great bloodlines going.

Chase has won a championship in cup and xfinity giving him greatness that’s what you all are missing here

You have to win at least 25 races to be a great driver!

I think if you put Corey in that Hendricks #9 car from the moment he got into cup he would of done just as well or BETTER then Chase. Corey is over achieving with so so equipment and Chase has been Underacheviving in top notch equipment. But I see your point . If Randy would of won a a few cup Championships then he would be in the BLOOD LINE CLUB. He was good but not great. HEY WALLACE!!!

You didn't say it to insult anyone so If he took it to heart it's his problem. It's that simple. All you can do is say sorry If I hurt your feelings.

First of all, no one in NASCAR had “beef” with someone back then, unless you shared a steak.
Had issues or a problem possibly…

I agree with you. I like Corey, but he is not a top driver. We need the field fillers, but hard to compate them with people competing for a championship. My favorite drivers in the day were you and Schrader. Still, I would not say either of you were the at the driver level of Rusty or Dale. Although I would place both of you above Corey at this point. His rookie teammate stays a few places above him. Bloodlines like Elliot or Earnhardt are rare and special, Even Blaney's championship is not like the days when a champion was the best driver that year. Maybe Busch or Harvick will have another driver carry on their bloodlines one day.
