Notice that he has written Hindu in Green and Muslim in Orange at the end note. Talks about pluralism. Keep making such great videos.
So true. You beat me to that. It's a shame that we have been coloured so communal that we even notice that in the 21st century.
@@ishpreetdang0 Thats fine. Religions have their sacred colours. What went wrong was we have been conditioned to use them as an emblem for social divide.
@@srivathsamarella7505 Now, THAT is an excellent understanding of Nuance.
I'm from Pakistan and a Muslim.
And an Indian Hindu (whom I met online and who eventually became one of the most important persons in my life) introduced this CZcams channel to me. (she has a great choice and always suggests quality stuff).
Through her I came to know a lot about India, Indians and Hindus.
Thank you for making such great videos and thanks to her for introducing this channel to me.
Love and respect from Pakistan.
Sometimes you just love how youtube algorithm works... you cannot find them, These "gems" just appear.
You have more knowledge on Music than tanisk bagchi.
Bro this is not good comparison. You can't compare him with chutiya bagchi. Tanisk bagchi is such a shameless guy that he said in an interview that he was bringing back the melody of 90's which today's generation have forgotten. Bhai uske birth certificate pe likha hoga, he is born to ruin music industry.
Ab kya kar sakte hai bro aajkal ghodo ki race mein gadhe bhi daudne lage hai😂
@@ishpreetdang0 I also bet you can write far better lyrics that badshah, honey singh, Sajid ,wajid and many more.
@@shrutikpatil7364 haha you bet! Although, being a sound engineer I know that it is hard to make catchy beats like those bastards.
It is not everyday that Cinema Beyond Entertainment uploads a video, but when they do, I gain 2 brain cells per minute!
Beautifully explained sir
Where are u sir. I miss the golden period of youtube when you guys were used to come on fanfest.
That is why he is mad at Masakali 2.0
His music are specifically made for a movie with specifical motifs and themes that the movie offers. And people are using his work cluelessly everywhere and worst, without his permission.
Tanishq Bagchi is the worst offender among them all. Never does anything original and always destroys the original.
Rahman has been a culprit of this as well, eg thottal poomalarum from movie New. So he holds no moral ground to go beserk for Masakali 2.0 🤣
@@ruvanivose padagotti was released 1964, new 2 movie was released 2007 around 40 years later, tamil cinema itself changed...so it was ok cos the artist was probably dead (due respect) anyway
Uva R u must be just born; google in his interview he said he doesnt want to remake that song but due to forced by the film’s director he did and he did a remake without destroying the original song
Kudos to you for using the original tamil audio.
N R Yeah. I thought that he be will using the dubbed shit like everyone else. But, later realised it’s Vinit Masram
this is a class about music, not dialogue, so as he said at last part, this movie and this video doesn't need language for understand; because it Mani Ratnam & AR Rahman
@@rahultej2248 Does it matter if he uses dubbed or original when he's analyzing only the music?
It's been 29years and Still we Feel Goosebumps everytime we hear this... ARR is something else
I saw this movie in the theatres … suffered from persistent pilomotor reflex syndrome 😌 loved every breath I took. Felt amazing 😇
Ar rahman is a time machine , he was and still is way ahead of time . Any good music suddenly rings bells in yours ears as "must be ar rahman" is the biggest compliment per se . Thank you " Mozart of the east".
The colours you choose to write hindu - Muslim tells us your love for creating a contrast.
I really wanted to know Rahman's feeling while composing this album. Thanks for this brilliant analysis!!
something about you annoys me,
something about you feels like you are a know-it-all,
something about you gives me the impression that you are neither a critic nor an artist,
something about you tells me you are scared to take the leap and be vulnerable with yourself to create.
All this says something about me more than anything it says about you. Bcos I don't know you, but I think I know me.
Thanks for the video! Keep creating❤️
Exactly how I feel. Thanks a lot for expressing these!
This video really shows the level of effort that you had to take. Man, I envy you! (in a right way of course) Keep enlightening us! I wish you Godspeed!
@You Tube commenter, I think the maker of the video also knows about himself, that's why he's making the video which probably is the best he does
People may know Rahman Sir as a genius music director.. But keep in mind his BGM are equally impressive... Roja, Bombay, Rdb, Tamasha, Water,Highway are simply a work of art and perhaps many more.. Salute to the legend that is Rahman Sir.
One thing I noticed about BOMBAY's music is how ARR used Gujarati folk song "HEY JEERE" as background music when Manisha Koirala lands in Bombay. This music captures very well the essence of Bombay of 90s. That piece of music is heavenly. I have been trying to find audio version of that piece of music since ages but to no avail.
People like you exist. Thank goodness. Please inform me here when you get it. ❤️🌻
Being a Bangladeshi cine buff I always wanted to watch Bombay or legend Mani's terrorism Trilogy on wide screen! But we can't, cinema doesn’t have any boundary, after someone made a cinema, it become people cinema. If someone can make it properly it become timeless.... Respect from Bangladesh! I learned a lot from your videos... Hope someday I Wil meet you in person!
At the end of the video
1. 13:01 Introduces a music segment to start conclusion
2. 13:20 Appreciate rehman sirs work by adding leitmotif
3. 13:25 and 13:30 repeats the leitmotif by comparing with stalwarts
4. 13:35 Takes the audience to crescendo with important message to read.
Genius
Awesome video! Thank you for making this and dissecting the amazing background score of Bombay. Just to elaborate upon the ingenuity of Rehman. He uses different Ragas for different effects.
The flute theme is in Ananda Bhairavi
The song Tu Hi Re with it's charanam is in Charukesi
The song Kehna Hi Kya is in Kirwani
Each of these ragas express a certain bhava and Rahman knew how to use those to full advantage!
Interesting how you used orange as the font color for 'Muslim' and Green as the font color for 'Hindu'. Loved that.
Seriously you have a magical voice..I loved to listen you continuously for an hour n hour and want to learn more n more from you.
Very detailed.
Absence of music where there was no conflict left WAS EPIC OBSERVATION.
Please do make more videos on ARR.
I want know what other things that I missed in those incredible music pieces.
I can not express enough how grateful I am to have found this channel!
That was one of the best 14 mins I’ve ever spent on CZcams. So informative and instilling a feeling of nostalgia same time. Bombay was amazing musically.
You have the knowledge, that even today’s professional musicians do not have. Kudos to your research and knowledge bro. 👏🏻👏🏻
Having said that A R Rahman sir is the best film composer we have ever had. In the whole world. There is not a single doubt about it.
Not taking credit away from ARR, but have you ever heard of a man called Ilaiyaraaja?
@@shreyamathur824 Sadma, Cheeni Kum, Paa in Bollywood, but so many in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam & Kannada. In fact, ARR was a keyboard assistant to Ilaiyaraaja. czcams.com/video/jzAPf9ThKSA/video.html - This is for just his BGMs.
The essay is valid for Dil Se, Lagaan, Tamasha, Yuva, Rockstar, and many other gems from Rahman. Brilliant stuff Vinit. Clearly, you give us stuff that we didn’t know we needed in our lives.
@@introvert1232lol if u ask 10 people they will say 10 different album to be the best of ar Rahman
U need to watch IRUVAR by Mani ratnam. Craftwise it's the best film made in the country and one of the finest cinema in the world. The acting by mohanlal is one of the best performance by an Indian lead actor
@@yatharthb6314 don't know. It would be great if he did a video on it
You are right , what a performance by mohan lal one must see his minute performance
6:47 That pause... before you said "stalking"... that PAUSE!
@@agilanraaj8337 Stalking is inappropriate. But the Indian cinema, especially Bollywood, hasn't refrained from using it for decades. The fact that even a Mani Ratnam film wasn't exempted from this is a pity! That pause wasn't unintended ;)
@@sanchitaghosh6289 How do u know it's stalking, in the first place? Nowadays ppl are using the word 'stalking' for everything as they wish. They are not aware of the meaning of the word. If getting to know a girl is stalking, then everyone will be single forever. Girls be like " He must have the guts to come and talk to me." but then they dont want them to look at them in public or "follow" them??? Like what???? Are boys suppose to read your mind to get to know you, and to know if u like him back or not???? I dont get it...In that movie, that guy was trying to get to know her. Whenever she came across him, she didn't even say "don't follow me" or showed any sign of being uncomfortable with his presence. What does that suppose to mean? Especially when there's no much of a technology developments to access and get to know about a person..How else should he tried to confess his love??? The main reason she tried to avoid him was bcs the difference in religion and she definitely knew the consequences. Not bcs she thought he was stalking her. Oh Come on ! Mani sir has nvr had the intention to teach negative things to his audience. He just shows the reality in his movies. If that looks like he's trying to promote stalking culture to YOU, then the problem is with you, not the movie or the Creator. Ppl talked about this thing for Dil Se too.. I just can't understand their thought process. Just because it happened to us and we personally went through something like it, that doesn't mean we should look at things with a suspicious and negative mind... Don't get confused with GETTING TO KNOW SOMEONE and STALKING !!!
विनीत भाऊंनी पुरवली हौस, जणू भर दुष्काळात पाडला पाउस - awesome work as always brother 😁😁
I am a huge fan of ARR but never ever thought about the amount of thinking and design going into the background score. One more thing to listen sharp and analyze from ARR movies.
Loved how you actually used the original Tamizh version for Bombay rather than the dubbed version. Thank you! Hopefully waiting to see you do an analysis of a Kamal Hassan film or a Tamizh film in general.
Aah, finally a video essay. Been waiting for this for so long!
Absolutely incredible content ! Thank you so making such videos !

finally you have remembered that you have a youtube channel ..... nice to see you
Thank you so much man for this video.
I was hankering for a video on how AR Rahman creates music since when I really started to like his songs but I couldn't find any.
I also wish if you could make a video on just the mind-blowing creativeness of the musician through his so many brilliant tunes he had created over his career and how he incorporates music, lyrics and instrumentation in his songs when everything else we hear from other artists are just vocals and exaggerated tunes .
Keep making videos man. I really appreciate your work.
I really missed your content bro..
So glad to see you back 🙏😊
This video was much needed for people to know that how great AR Rahman is.

Oh my, this type of video after so long. I've been following this channel for years just for these educational videos that makes us appreciate cinema from another level. I started watching this channel some four years back and it made me enjoy movies a hell lot more then later these also helped me in my film appreciation classes.
So, to the creator - you've help me understand more than my college professor.

This was so good. Thankyou, Vinit.
By far the best dissection of such a complex scoring process, in a very simplistic manner, explaining the thought process, as well as technical aspects so beautifully. I became a big fan watching this very first video from your channel.
