Thanks for the great video. I had pepper jelly before and have been looking for an easy recipe. This will be the one. You might want to try cowboy candy if you like peppers. Its pickled jalapenos in a sweet brine.

This was such a treat. I know I should have made something like this ahead of time, but I ran to my local HEB to get some eggs and some sort of pepper jam or pepper sauce to put a twist on a traditional eggs benni. And I found out even down here hardly anybody uses peppers. I'm not kidding you some lovely young woman looked me dead in my eyes and told me in front of God and everybody that she puts ketchup on her tacos 😢💔. Soon as I figure out which of the 3 eggs benni recipes I like the best and have a long nap I'm gonna make a BIG BATCH of this delicious lookin preserve(?). Man I wish I had some of that ready to go rn.

Oolala, it's coming out beautifully. I don't remember her adding the salt to the recipe, so, I did this when I added the sugar. This can be done with the water bath method bc it has VINEGAR in it.

Every time, I go to any place selling canning goods, I buy. Pectin lasts for years. I especially like purchasing in the winter. Used to be sales, but, now, it's grab it in preparation for any time of year's preserving. I preserve all year long, usually, tropicals, such as pineapples, and holidays, such as cranberries during the winter months.

You didn't add a rack in the bottom of the dutch oven. I learned the hard way the first time I water bathed. They broke. Weven a towel will do if no rack.

Its not jelly.. Its jam... its probably still wonderful, however Jelly only uses the juice, not the purèed peppers. We all know this, if we ever purchases Smuckers Concord grape jelly, vs strawberry jam. Plus it will be like a clear gelatine.

@@jonihughey1352 You can use anything, but, bell peppers. Go for the hotter types for the contrast between heat and sweet.

@@athanasia1485 Bummer! I just bought six nice big red bell peppers. The recipe I had called for sweet peppers -- that's what I thought bell peppers were!

  • @francesvandenbergh3118

This looks the same as making Cowboy Candy...the only difference I see is the size of the Jalapenos...cutting them in slices or as you did in the Food Processor..and of course the Pectin.
