  • While visiting California I was spending the day in Malibu and I couldn't have asked for better weather. I attended a car show in the morning and around lunch time I was at Nobu when a stunning LaFerrari showed up finished in the triple yellow paint. The LaFerrari was heavily specced out with every carbon fiber option you could order along with a yellow leather wrapped steering wheel, yellow headliner on the interior, and so many more bits in yellow I have never seen ordered on another LaFerrari. Accompanying the LaFerrari was a Ferrari FF and Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe with the rest of the LaFerrari owner's family. Malibu never disappoints!!

Well, that really says it all. Old rich guy and a valet, featuring a $4MM car in the Nobu parking lot. It's amazing when you really start to see that this is the life of a hypercar. But then again - even back to the '60s and earlier - the fastest road cars were always in the hands of movie stars and the social elite. The older I get, the more value I see in putting time in behind the wheel of race cars instead of spending this kind of money on a road car. Most GT3 cars cost around $500k. The "race car for the road" thing doesn't interest me as much as it used to.

You said it very well. Thankfully there are still a handful of owners of these cars that really drive them and push them to the limits as they were built for. Unfortunately it is a very rare sight as most of these cars are spotted at high end restaurants, hotels, etc and not at the race track.

how do you trust valet with this car...

I don't know, even at the most elite places with valet minor accidents still happen. I know he gave them a huge tip when he got out of the car and was there the weekend before in something not as expensive as the LaFerrari which probably built his trust in them to take care of it.

No but I know it’s super fancy. Don’t know if regular folk like me can get a reservation lol.

Dumb. Love the car, but leave it home. Take the Prius to Nobu, then you don’t have to stupidly tip $20 to valet park it. (I was a valet manager for 22 years). Take the Laf for drives, take the Prius to (overrated, overpriced) Nobu.
