This is so cool, nice to see Valerie so protective of her son and the interviewer did a great job getting him to talk. I think Eddie and Val did a great job raising him, especially being a son of such a legend. Sad that we lost Eddie.
I think Valerie and Eddie have done a good job in raising their son. He seems an intelligent, sensible and confident boy
Beyond for what there Careers in tailed both deserve parents of the century award 👏...
It's really sweet to see how much he admired his father. Says a lot.
RIP Eddie
What a great interviewer to give so much attention to the young Wolfgang, son of the immortal Legend EVH
GOAT...THE EARTH IS 400 MILLION YEARS OLD...IM GREATFULL TO HAVE LIVED AND WITNESSED VAN HALEN.
More like 4.5 billion. Just a tad off.
ITS 4.5 billion years old...AND WERE SO DAMN LUCKY to be alive with this awesome band.
@Watching You Those cavemen had no idea what they were missing!
Valerie looks stunning ...wow
yeah she really does
Yep
God bless the Van Halen family. Valerie looked amazing here. She gets more beautiful every day.
She always has.
u seen her lately ??
@@joejohnston2035 - Frankly, I don't think she's ever gotten over Eddie and food is her weakness. Booze and drugs were his. She stayed with him and tried for years. Growing up with a drunk, who smoked constantly and was on drugs is not fun, I've been there. Trust me, unless Wolfie has had LOTS of therapy, that was a classic child of an alcoholic/druggie and Wolfie has food isues.
Coolest name ever, Wolfgang.
This is a great interview!! I love that you did not only make this interview about Valerie, and that you got Wolfgang to be a part of it as well.
Wolfgang was quite mature for his age.
wow seems like a well adjusted talented child....
I think he interviewed a young Wolfie quite well, Some interviewers don’t know how.
THANKS DJR !!! YOU ROCK !!!
What a cute interview .. She's a MAMA BEAR.. :) Watching out for her baby :) RIP EDDIE!
Remembering good times; great interview, Eric Blair- way to relate, connect, be accessible, show interest, respect. Thank you for sharing.
I'm so sorry for EV loss. He was one beautiful and talented human being. That smile of his when he woukd be playing his guitar. Nobody played like that.. God bless his soul.
Didn't he! Loved that " what's next" smile.
Kind of an impish grin. He was one cool kitty cat. Love Ed..R.I.P.
I walked past her outside the Staples Center when Van Halen played there in 2004. Saw Wolf come out on stage and play with his dad that night.
Wolfe looks like both of his parents .
I just commented the exact same thing... I see both parents in his face
his parents look alike. they look like triplets.
I wonder why 🤔
That’s usually how it works dumbass
EXCELLENT interview!!!!! Everything an interview should be!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
THANKS ROSE REPORTER !!! YOU ROCK !!!
blairingoutshow I appreciate it thank you!
My heart is broken. RIP I will always love you. Rock on Eddie rock on 🤘🎸🎸🎸❤️
That was cool. It’s sad seeing Wolfie glow when talking about his Dad.
@Chet Carson he's about 12 in this video ya douchebag.
@Chet Carson There's the misogyny coming from you again...
@@johnlocke6410 ...douchebag indeed! You said it!
@Chet Carson are you working the truckstop glory hole again tonight? Maybe I'll come see you.
@Chet Carson I'm NOT a "boy" let alone an effing "MALE", you dumbass. YOU'RE the fruitcake, misogynist!
“I sat next to you during the Diver Down tour” 😱
“Lots of luck with your career, because you’re gonna have a good one”
This interview is a.w.e.s.o.m.e. 😎👍 Great window into a decades-ago connection and the shape of things to come for young Wolfgang, for decades. And of course, sorry for his & Valerie’s loss... I think we’re all still broken up over Eddie’s passing.
DEAR VALERIE & WOLFGANG I AM SO SORRY 4 UR LOSS 😢 I WILL KEEP THE PRAYERS GOING 4 U GUYS 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
VB is a super nice person...great personality!!
Fascinating to watch this old footage…..Fascinating to watch Wolf down the years evolve into this solid creative musical force doing so much of it for himself and cutting his own path.❤
Yup BALANCE... is a masterpiece
so good!! great interview!
I remember seeing her on the 1984 tour she was having a Cigarette and waved at us fans from the side of the stage so cool and still look Gorgeous
GOD BLESS THE FAMILY...HE TRULY ADORES AND ADMIRES HIS DAD.... EDDIE WAS BLESSED WITH A TALENTED SON IM SURE HE WAS VERY PROUD OF HIM.....THIS TRULY HURTS💔🎸🙏🏻
For a first time......did great...a natural
Kids a winner 👍
Valerie has a lot of energy and a quick thinker. She makes life happen instead of watching it pass her. Gets back up as needed. Very good.
As others have said - cool that you focused so much on Wolfgang and let Valerie be the mom in the background. Her and Eddie raised a fine son - so great to see the success he's had so far with Mammoth. No comment would be complete without a RIP Eddie. Ed would be so proud to see Wolfie these days.
This is so cute, they come across as a typical mom and son and Wolfe's references to his Dad and Uncle Alex are adorable.
few years later and Wolf figures out the Roth years were best
We are all very lucky to be witnessing Wolfgang carrying on the torch and legacy of his father...he is an immensely talented young man !
You can tell he is her entire world. Great mom and great kid
So sweet.
omg !!!my favorite is balance too wolfie!!!!!
Well grounded kid back then it seems, definitely a well grounded man today.
i luv it 💚❤💛
ERIC!!! TELL us real quick about sitting next to her on the diver down show...HOW WAS THAT SHOW?? WHAT CITY??...oh right, ar the forum.. DiverDown is hands down my favorite vh album...✌
Aww this was cute💜 and loves his dad
Balance was good album. It was more of a 90s survival as the hair bands were going away.
Wolfgang is now in the spot lights! mammothWVH!! Distance! What a fine young man he turned out to be! Looking forward to hearing more music his style! Hard Rock will still pump my speakers if Wolfgang got anything to do with it!! Thanks Wolfgang! You Rock man!
✌😎🎸🎶💖
Hey Wolfe Balance is my Favorite also.Sorry about your Dad he was my Favorite I miss him very much.
Yes David, totally surprised Valerie is my age. Not that Im an old crown yet, but she definetly looks no more than 40. Stunning.
I also feel Eddie and Valerie never really ever quit being in love with each other. Married to other ppl or not. I feel the entertainment business is a very hard struggle if your married. Your never really "alone". I think their split was more for sanity for their son.
Their split was because he could not deal with whatever happened to him as a kid. Alcoholics/drug addicts are drowning their pain. They aren't doing it because it's fun waking up every morning with the shakes, cold sweats, drinking a 6 pack to feel "normal." Yes, I believe they were soulmates - but just being soulmates doesn't guarantee happiness.
I am surprised he married so quickly after they divorced. Considering how much he cheated with women so much. Didn’t seem like he would want to be married again, unless he was not drawing the girls in his last years
@@pookiepookie8669
Absolutely they loved one another.. Up and till Ed’s last breath… He died with Wolf holding one hand and Valerie holding the other.. The way it was meant to be.. As he told her he always loved her and she him..Like you said soulmates…. Always
@@judithryle2113
Ed didn’t marry quickly.. They had been apart for sometime before the divorce like about 10 yrs..They still were very involved off n on over that time… Even after he remarried he still cheated on her too..Shoulda knew that was coming.. Ed always cheated 😅 js
Ya Valerie seems like a very cool person. She is obviously so proud of her son. Great mother. Young Wolfgang is such a nice young man and what a fantastic person and mucias
Didn’t finish. He turned out to be great person and musician
@@sg1770 hes A GREAT KID!! ✌
What a sweet boy, he likes just his dad. Valerie has done a fabulous job raising him.
His dad may be a little guy but his shoes are huge.
Good thing Valerie doesn't hang out with Wolfgang anymore. After all, its by the Gender.
A man of many words
Val is so pretty the way she is protective of wolfie from the press here is adorable .
Touched by Wolfie's song and loss .
Wish I had love like that in my family
Little Wolfie with his mommy. How cool.
I'm guessing they named him Wolfgang after Mozart since his father was actually a piano prodigy which a lot of people don't know.
You're right. Just heart that the other day.
Terrible name though
@@judithryle2113 Not really. Look at what Elon Musk and Grimes named their kid.
Interesting that he said "Balance" was his favorite Van Halen album. Michael Anthony said the same thing.
It's cool to see Wolf has always been so level headed
Valerie is such the mom. It's so cool.
That tour was a gong show.
Even at age 13, Wolfgang had a good old head on his shoulders!
Wolfgang has good taste. Balance is definitely one of Van Halen's best albums musically and commercially speaking.
Ahhhh, Wolfie was so cute there.
I was seeing his father's resemblance a little as he talked
Bun E Carlos of Cheap Trick is one of my favorite drummers.
No one cares
@@thefonzkiss You might think nobody cares- how do you know for sure.
The interviewer sounds like Eddie Murphy in trading places… " It was the Duke's it was the Duke's it was the Dukes "
Wolfie looks like a total combination of both parents. Maybe a little more like Valerie, but I definitely see Eddie in there too.
WOLF....Arrrrr.....Modest young chap......Must have been quite something to realize your Dad re defined the way guitar is played.......Wolf's gone on to do well in his own right.
Wolfgang is a decent kid, plays a good bass and knows his shit. Didn’t like him playing with VH but it fit. He had the genes and the name so it’s all cool.
I'm honored to share the same birth date as Val. And still beyond sad about eddie, 🙏
can feel wolfs pain here.. his parents are splitting here.
Val was definitely a helicopter Mom❤️❤️
Valerie and Eddie,I think look like they could be brother and sister.Which one does Wolfgang look like?BOTH.
Wolfie was cool way back then.
hes totally cool as hell now...i follow him on twitter and ig.
Wolfe looks just like his mother. There is no mistaking she is his real mom and not the milk lady’s!
LOL
Ouch! Points off for saying "metals not cool"
"Off to never never land" for whoever said that!
Poor boy. His dad was loosing it at the Time.
His uncle best drummer
He looks just like his mom imo.
Seeing Wolfgang with his mother, I think he looks like her. Then I see him with his father, and think he looks like him. lol
her son...or daughter?
tripjet999 Thats a compliment and thats her son.
tripjet999 idiot.
tripjet999 😂😂😂
I can’t tell if wolf is nervous here or just stuck up
oh hes both...i follow his twitter...GREAT KID BUT HE KNOWS WHO HE IS.
I've never seen him act arrogant ever.
Also, Valerie Bertenelli is wicked as well. Valerie is an icon of show business and why is that? Yes she is pretty and she seems to have done a great job raising her son Wolfgang Van Halen. But she has been known to attend the Kabbalah Center and she wears a red string on her wrist which signifies allegiance to the devil. Here is an excerpt from her book Losing It: And Gaining My Life Back One Pound At A Time by Valerie Bertinelli on pages 157-158: Thankfully, I was able to stay at home for my next project, Murder of Innocence. Although shot locally, it took me as far away from myself as I’d ever been. The character I played, Laurie Wade, was a newlywed whose childhood traumas trigger a series of psychotic breaks that lead her to shoot at schoolchildren. She then commits suicide. Though the project let me work with director Tom McLoughlin again, I didn’t for one minute like climbing into the skin of this woman. I had the feeling that the ghost of Laurie Wade didn’t like it either. One day Tom and I were walking down a tree-lined street in an residential neighborhood, going over a scene in which Laurie is in a manic state when suddenly we heard an ear-splitting squawk that I swear to God sounded like someone saying “Get off!” Both of us looked up and saw two giant ravens sailing toward each other, like two planes on a collision course. We didn’t see them hit, but suddenly one bird fell from the sky hitting tree branches on its way down and landing with a thud at my feet. I looked down and saw blood dripping from its mouth. I looked at Tom and said, “I don’t want to be this woman anymore.” As the weeks progressed I broke down into hives and rashes. They had dermatologists visit the set. Nothing worked. Something about that part got under my skin and triggered a reaction. That’s why I couldn’t wait for the movie to end. I wanted Laurie to leave me alone. Now, isn’t that sick? Hollywood is sick! Valerie married Eddie on 4/11/81. 111 days later MTV debuts. All the rock and roll people who loved Eddie and all the TV fans who loved Valerie “came together” on April 11th when they married. Just in time for MTV which debuted a few months later. Music and Television merges and Eddie and Valerie helped it a long. MTV went on to be a socialistic enterprise to destroy culture. See the 11’s? Married on the 11th? 111 days later MTV debuts…
NWO is knocking on the door and the world rolls over and gives it to them even though it will kill them all. The dumbing down of the world. Gematria - it's all connected.
I don’t know why she put so many personal things in her first book. She had to know her son would read all about his dads treatment of her and him screwing around so much. Eddie was not a good role model at all
Val and Eddie did a fantastick job raising Wolfie he is a very well mannered young man.
But i have noticed in this interview she has to keep butting in and put her opinion in i understand here wolf is very young but in interviews from the past with Eddie she was always interrupting and almost taking the interviews over .
Which is very rude.
Sorry just my opinion.
She always talked over Eddie. I think she was worried he would say something to embarass her.
Valerie seemed irritated with the interview and that focus was more on her son.
I didn't see that AT ALL. She is all about her kid and was very proud of him.
Rita Turner ... Shut up trouble maker, that was not going on.
No way, she was nervous for him since it was his first outing being interviewed. She adores him.
Nope.
Musicians aren't hero's!!!
She's not friendly
She was friendly. She certainly wasn’t mean or standoffish.
Valerie is just protective of her son. As any mama bear would be. Wolfie held his own in this interview. My heart and prayers for the family, over their loss of Eddie.
When I was a teenager in the 70s I thought Valerie Bertinelli was gorgeous, but I guess my idea of what beauty is changed over the years because now I think she's kind of weird looking.
She was beautiful...she still is she just aged thats all .
@@patsnation1278 I agree, she is still beautiful. I just meant that MY idea of what I'm attracted to in a woman has changed since I was a teen.
Yea she's still Georgous
She aged very well & naturally.
