Unfortunately, our internet was abit slow to begin with but from 2:25 the stream is fine, just in time for us to explain the mission and army lists. We do apologise and moving forward we will do all we can to improve on this.
No apology necessary for technical issues beyond your control. Glad for the heads up that it's not the whole video though, looking forward to the rest :)
I love that you post and pin this. I can look it up and learn that it's not my internet doing it.
I got to say I love that they have commentators during the movement phase talking about metas and strategies. It’s extremely refreshing for a battle report where the movement phase is the most boring phase to watch.
Thanks for the great battle report. As many said here, love the quality of the commentary.
I will enjoy this, ive just started 2 T'au armies, My first is a passion army and will be all kroot, I've also started buying up a load of suits to do a Retaliation cadre too, just need to pick a colour scheme
Make the kin proud, Jake!!
As a note can I just say I really love your channel, one of my goals for this year is to have one of my lists featured on your show ! Please keep up the amazing work, you make the kin so proud
Much Love
From VT Jake x
Thanks so much for the kind words Jake, it really means a lot to me and I absolutely cannot wait for the glorious day where we get to share your victory with the Kin!
Rock and stone - Votann Matt
Love the commentary during the movement phase. What a battle.
Is there a way you can add the army lists to the description after the stream?
Nice to find a new channel to watch! Tau is my favorite army and the one im collecting so its nice to see them on the tabletop!
Two favorite armies, should be a good one to watch
What a game!
I just played my first game ever and screwed up my Hekaton placement. Isn’t Jake’s first Hekaton movement like 8 inches too far with the 90 degree pivot? Or walk me through the movement because I don’t understand how to rotate units.
Edit: Probably just talked out the deployment
Not sure if it's been mentioned but fusion blasters are only 12" these days😭
The thing about Vespid, is that people are writing them off because their deepstrike rule is inferior to other options.
I see it alot like "They can't jump at the end of my opponents turn like my Commander can, or Necrons can, or whatever else" so they completely discard them based on that without looking what else they can do.
Based on their points, imagine Space Marine scouts that can Deep Strike with 2 Shot AP2 guns. "Oh no, their 'jump back into reserves rule' isn't super efficient, Marines would KILL for that gun profile on throwaway objective grabbers..
40:06 as a note big guns doesn’t activate in overwatch not that it mattered ultimately
Why? Specifically big guns never tire says is in your shooting phase?
Overwatch doesn't actually make it your shooting phase, so you can't use other rules or Strats that say 'in your shooting phase'
Tau aren't fish! They have hooves!
Seems a bit glitchy at first but all sorted by army list time. Maybe it's my connection
No you are right our internet was bit slow this morning but once we hit army lists it should be all fine from there ill leave a timestamp now for when it is ok.
Hey idk if it has been addressed in the commentary but these points don’t make sense to me. Are you using MFM for everything except crisis and enhancements ?
Hello @VaguardTactics - could you clarify the Scorched Earth burning mechanic? I played it the other day and the way we read it is that you have to get to your next command phase to finish burning an objective. At first we assumed it was end of game too since that is common, but we read it several times and didn't see an "end of game" caveat. Do tournaments play it where it works at end of game too? I'm just really confused with GW's writing since it seems silly that you couldn't burn at the end of the game. Thanks for the great game! I'm loving these Tau battle reports.
How can you sticky the objectives without the warriors being out?
they stated at the beginning of the video their special mission rule was stick objectives
Great battle report and great to see Mike run the Tau again, although it was great to see Steve use them in the last game.
If Mike did want to run a competitive list what would his list look like ? What does he think of the 3 crisis loadouts ? I like the sunforge for its niche role, the fireknifes seem very underwhelming and the starscythe look interesting because they are cheap but outside retaliation cadre they seem outshone by other units, eg. breacherfish, pathfinders.
In Mont'ka I'm looking at Missilesides to replace the Fireknife role. Nothing can replace the efficiency of CIBs but thats not necessarily a bad thing for the game.
Ya the cibs were bad for the game. I do miss the 6man teams but happens
Nailed the pronunciation Kris
Load ‘em up Kris!
Love the intro
Not a member 😢here
Why did you play tau with mixed points from pre-codex and the new codex?
Codex points are over 6months old and not remotely valid for existing units. For new units there is no precedent so defaulting to what is in codex is only fair.
This T'au force made me realise i want to redo my T'au battelsuit army, but iam going with a theme this time...Super Robot Wars theme.
Will it be good...probably not, but i get to use Optimus Prime alongside the RX-0079 and the Megazord.
in french the pronunciation is Cardruh. Not carduh. Car like sour, druh like ugh.
“Cod-ray” in the US military. 😅
What’s the blue colour on the votann, looks cool
sad to see most of Mike's strats ruined by bad rolls. would love to see some of the combos working!
also expected him to put more into the home objective in the bottom of turn 4 and not charged the stealth suits?
that was quite the ending though! pretty wild stuff all the way through, thanks for the match!
The person telling you that you're pronouncing cadre incorrectly is themselves wrong. Yes, it's a french word, but the letters 're' in french are pronounced with the 'r'. Card-ruh with a very soft r is the correct pronunciation, but car-duh is completely wrong.
i just wanted to watch the game not hear random commentary about dante and 3" bullcrap. Would have rather listened to the players talk about why they're moving what where... this is a TACTICS focuses channel right?
already wrong.. 4 enhancements? you can only have 3.
and starflare ignition returns you back to reserves, doesnt state you can return them your next turn (where some do and allow you
to redeploy in your first turn) so starflare wouldnt be able to since it does state you can next turn. (example that works - allerus custodian ability states you can your next turn)
also mike should be on 2 cp on votann 2nd turn since he used cp to move crisis with strat in turn 1 after shooting
also you moved the enforcer unit 10" move with torchstar gambit when he has 8" and that over rules the units speed of 10".
the grymnr who overcharged and failed hazardous. he doesn't take 3 damage he is instantly dead, he isn't a monster or vehicle. (update: only towards infantry, characters still take 3 damage)
Dont characters also only take 3 wounds if they fail hazardous?
@@ExtraCarnex yes you are correct. that one is for infantry only.
Hi!
Just a response to your corrections!
There are only 3 enhancements on the Tau List. No Puretide Neurochip
The Tau had 3cp due to discarding a card not 2 as you suggest.
You are correct with the enforcer and I hope it did not impact the viewing experience (who knows why they didn't just give it the same movement as it's unit!)
You're also correct on the ignition system and I'm glad I didn't use it that way!
You've already spotted that hazardous is 3 mortals on any character.
Thanks for watching but it's worth double checking before your comment in case you're both wrong and come across badly.
'Already wrong' is no way to give feedback.
