    All the people that work at the geothermal plant sign confidentiality agreements... what does that tell you ! they'll never tell you the truth. !

    • @avgjoe-cz7cb
      @avgjoe-cz7cb Před 5 lety

      Well, that's pure bullshit as stated. Yes, we do have to sign a confidentially agreement. Simply, in my view, certain nut jobs want to twist the truth into a hateful, liberal NIMBY summery. We sign a con-statement to protect the patents regarding Did not this video simply ex[plain the difference between HGPA and PGV? Seems like you're looking for excuses and perhaps a paycheck or handout. I've never ever worked for a more responsible Company in my life and to add, I've been around. I tell the truth. If I thought PGV was pulling the wool over your eyes, I would have left a long time ago. I have a consensus too you know. Paycheck be damned. Also, HGPA as stated, not PGV, started the downfall/decline of Geothermal by not knowing root causes of aerial pollution during the experimental times. Constellation Energy and Ormat, formed as a venture to produce power, has nothing to do with those old days. So, quit whining.

    Interesting to see the Geothermal players here. Especially Mike Kaleikini of PGV. Mike must be holding lots of Ormat stock. Watching him now, 2018, w Leilani Estates & PGV virtually gone.

    Who could have foreseen fracking a volcano was a bad idea?

  • @cndvd
    @cndvd Před 6 lety +1

    The 60K gallons of Pentane evacuated must be for Fracking to penetrate the earth once drilled 1 or 2 miles or more to "find" the steam. I wonder what other chemicals are used and dumped into the area through "steam" .

    Madame Pele made sure she put a stop.to any further pgv-geothermal development starting in May. Unfortunately, she also wiped out 1/3 of lower Puna and many once scenic and beautiful locations.

    Wow. Common sense says don’t build an industrial complex in earthquake, volcanoes, and tsunami prone areas...but that being said....anytime any of us turn on a light (we use resources of some sort)...I think (this is only my humble opinion) that if they decide to keep PGV up....there needs to be open disclosure to ALL paying customers with daily tours of the plant....I, personally think solar is the way to go in the long run...but initial set up for a durable solar system is out of most people’s budgets..even “clean solar” has batteries that need to be rebuilt...but having and maintaining an electrical grid where we are is not without challenges..if everyone had their own portable system, the community would be more resilient. Do we still remember what happened to the nuclear facility in Japan? I know geothermal is not the same...but....they still had to move some dangerous stuff out of the facility a couple months ago in a big hurry....all the legal loopholes that the investors expensive attorneys seem to find also are not in the locals best interest either....

    Hawaii sits in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The islands are bathed in sunlight. Why doesn't Hawaii harness solar energy for it's power needs. I would think that solar would be the way to go for it's power needs,more so than the mainland

      Glenda Balangitao ... It means it wasn't supposed to leak out but they were allowed to leak out 40 gallons a day into the magma chamber and the fract area and no one can tell for sure how much they really allowed to leak out of this supposedly closed system... There's no way they could have connected the system to retain the closure with a certainty

      There are several types of geothermal plants. Here is an outline of each one, the last one being the one that uses Pentane which is used because it has a lower boiling temp than water and that is what they use to drive the turbines instead of the hot water. czcams.com/video/XVpDefBNxiU/video.htmlm28s

    Corruption and Capitalism from Native Hawaiians and Multinationals abound . Now land subsidence or deflation of the East Rift Zone are not being reported by USGS. It has been observed by layman that land in the zone has dropped more than 30in even Muana Loa has dropped 1in. Ask the questions about slump and tsunami dangers for the south east of the big island. Prayers for the people.

      Jack Belk .... Get on your computer and study up... Every major geothermal plant on the planet that has drilled into earthquake zones and volcanoes has failed... Look into Basel Switzerland or look into Reykjavik Iceland

  • @elizabethleevaldez2437

    I don't think Hawaiian had any say so. Other's decided the way too live. Like all the Indian's that had too flee and obey Americans rules. Now Mexican are getting the same heat.
