Huge shoutout to our brother Ryley Richardson for joining us on this adventure and doing most of the filming! His Channel: / channel
Targeting Walleye, Northern Pike, and Burbot at Wabamun Lake, Alberta on February 20, 2021.
We've never actually tried to do a video out here for some reason, but we sure are glad we made it out here to try. We've been hearing from Facebook Forums and other outdoors/fishing forums how the fishing has been affected over the past few years. Well, we gave our best crack at it this day and we weren't disappointed. Great day out there, minus a snowstorm, but the fishing was pretty consistent throughout the day.
We do realize that the method of getting our 2nd pike on top of the ice was not ideal, and the fish did absorb quite a battle and some damage during the process. This is not our intent and we do wish we had a better method planned out in that scenario. In this case a 10 inch hole could have been the difference. We had to make our decisions on the go, and we both feel we succeeded in our methods. The fish kicked off with some power and we are confident that she will go on to breed and perhaps be caught another day.
Hope you enjoy the video, and there are more coming soon!
