Ten seconds into the episode and I instantly recognized this couple. They were featured on Wives with Knives (Investigation Discovery) , the episode is called “Born This Way”.
Terry had a very tough life and overcame many obstacles, including parental rejection. I pray she’s now living her life instead of just “surviving” abuse and maltreatment.
That sounds like a show someone gets stabbed on. Let me go see if I can find it.

Terry does not feel loveable and this mismatch proves the point. It's a self-fulfilng prophesy. To go through a gender reassignment had to have involved a lot of soul-searching and becoming reacquainted with herself and hopefully discussions with loved ones and professionals about the realities of gender relations in the real world as she stepped back into public life as a woman with hopes of success in life, work and love. The pitfalls can be many. She is still young, she can have a fulfilled life once she can see that she has settled for far less than she probably hoped for. Someone who may have been nice to hear in the surface. And not to minimize it, it's not that much different than taking "geographic cure" or finding other distractions. I speak from my own debacles. The rule still holds: "no matter where I go, there I am." I hope she did some "inside work" and moved on. As for him, he obviously does not see his part as any part of the problem. I have far more hope for her. Good riddance
