How to Inject Your Semaglutide or Tirzepatide for Your Weight Loss Journey | Integrated Aesthetics

New weight loss medications such as Semaglutide and Tirzepatide can be intimidating to give yourself at first. In this video, learn how to inject your weight loss medication yourself with the help of Integrated Aesthetics’ nurse injector, Alise.
How to inject at home:
1. Gather supplies: Pre-filled syringe, alcohol wipe, gauze.
2. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and warm water for 30 seconds to minimize risk of infection.
3. Clean the injection area with the alcohol wipe, let air dry. Do not blow on or swipe at cleaned area, doing so can reintroduce bacteria back onto the injection site.
4. Pinch a large area of skin, insert needle, push the plunger fully to inject the medication.
5. Once syringe is removed from skin, wipe away blood, if any, with gauze, and apply small bandage if needed.
6. Carefully cap used syringe and place it back inside the bag provided or sharps container if you have one available.
7. Do NOT throw used needles into regular trash can, return used syringes to clinic for proper
disposal.
8. Remember to set a regular day and time for your injections. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible; if it is almost time for your next dose, skip current dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule.
Do NOT double dose!

Fellow nurse here, of over 36 years. Recapping a syringe is something new, it was NEVER recommended when I was in practice. If it had to be done, a scooping method was used…never using two hands. Also, using an alcohol swab to clean the skin is wonderful but your technique is off….start in the center and wipe circular from center to the outside. Maybe I’m old school but it made me cringe 😮
