It’s safe to say that it’s becoming increasingly difficult for Chinese people to invest in real estate in the US. At this time, Chinese investment capital has found new destinations, and a notable one is Thailand.
Some analysts believe that the supply chain of the whole Southeast Asia region is expected to be completed within five years. So it is predicted that the whole of Southeast Asia, together with India and other regions will replace China and become the new world factory.

There are some ugly parts of this. People have to keep in mind that in China, the superwealthy are not that way because they are the most talented, hardworking, innovative people who had to be good at dealing with people and the public. They have very large amounts of money because their grandfather marched with Mao or they executed some teachers in the Cultural Revolution. Even worse, some are wealthy because they would betray anyone and sacrifice their own family to help a government get power.
Now what you're seeing is them taking that wealth out of China. So that's not just less money for knockoff Gucci bags and buying their kid a pet tiger cub it can abuse to death. That's money that doesn't go to cleaning aunties and mistresses in China.
Then you get this wealthy class of 'Fuer dai' which is basically spoiled rich kids who are often human garbage, among the most vacant, ignorant and cruel people who will fuel that utterly undeserved money into Thai gang life, crime and prostitutes.
Remember, it's not like Thailand is getting the 'steve jbobs', the talents, they aren't getting rich Chinese who are good at anything, who know how to do things. They are basically useless, never had real jobs (that they needed to actually be good at) and won't be any kind of benefit outside of funneling cash among themselves, other Chinese rich kids and crime.

@@ILovePancakes24 Ok but you changed it to 'The Useless Rich' so that, of course, 'useless rich' would definition be useless from everywhere.
I'm telling you about something else which is that in Mainland China, the vast majority of rich are useless.
That is not the case in many and most nations. Sometimes 'useful' could be something you dislike but in most free nations the rich are skilled at something.
Hate Steve Jobs all we want but he had a highly skilled talent in knowing what people wanted (or what they would want) and how to make it happen, who to hire, how to keep it moving.
This can go for Heirs. Hate the Trump heirs all you want but they had to learn to sell clothes, do speeches, sell 'Trump' brands and so on.
This is 'opposite world' in Mainland China.
The CEO of Sinotool will be one of the dumbest, ignorant, rude fools you ever met, full of STDs from buying 8 mistresses, lacking all manners, a snorting low-iq and it doesn't matter because he's assigned that job by the state.
The Mayor's son isn't just 'useless' but will keep starting new businesses that are so stupid they somehow lose money so fast you'd swear a contest to 'create the most failed business' idea was launched.
Understand this again: This is the standard, the rule, the norm. This is the vast majority. This is the stronger rule the wealthier and more successful the business and high salary and the more elite the positions and higher incomes - the more incompetent, unskilled they are.
I'm reminded of a time when a Canadian county hired a Chinese 'city planner' who had a stunning resume, managing entire prefectures in China (many with rapid growth during their terms) and the Canadian city was so impressed with their CV they hired them.
Several weeks later they started suspecting the Chinese had 'impersonated' with a fake resume but all things checked out. It seemed as if they had ZERO knowledge of anything and had only proposed some of the dumbest and worst plans ever heard for the most idiotic 'thinking' etc.
      What happened?
They didn't understand that the Chinese City Planner is a total 'guan-xi' relationship position. The father was a very high ranking CCP loyalist with immense powers in the province so the kid is assigned this job.
In China, that top boss City Planner does nothing. They make no decisions at all. They exist to find a few actual smart trained people and ask them what to do (but make it like they told them) and that's it.
      Again: this is THE RULE.
I'm describing the vast majority of Mainland China. This is every 'City Planner' or something very much like it.
Actually, this reminds me that if anyone really wanted to fleece China's experts?
Hire the lower-salaried 'city planner's assistant to the parks planning division' as they actually had to grind and be skilled in order to get that mid-ranged moderately goodish job and bring the top bosses tea and suggestions.

This happened in a short time in the Philippines when online casino was still accepted in the Philippines. A lot of mainland Chinese opened online casinos in the Philippines bringing Chinese workers with them. Condo units were bought or rented left and right shooting up their prices to sky high. The regular Filipinos were squeezed out of the property market. Condo units became too expensive to rent them. Then the Wuhan virus came and online casino was banned. I remember back in the late 80's or maybe the 90's when the Japanese were buying real estate in the US and it was portrayed as a terrible thing. It turned out that they were typically buying at inflated prices. I believe that one golf course ended up losing them something like $1B. So basically it was a wealth transfer from them to the people in the US. Given the current economic conditions, Chinese buying real estate in the US or Thailand would be making the same mistake. Granted if they are buying it near military bases so they can setup spy equipment, that is another issue, but one that does not require banning them from purchasing land. I would also point out that the US constitution bans discrimination on the basis of country of origin, so it seems that Florida is going to have to prove they have some other reason for the ban. It sounds like they may be attempting to do it on the basis of the country being an enemy of the US, but that is not going to be easy given that we are not at war.

Learn from Jews history in Europe.
By the start of 19th century, Jews in Western Europe were more or less already integrated into native population. Then came the wave of Jews from Eastern Europe (because of pogrom by the Russian Empire), which were "uncultured" in the eyes of Western European people. Even their Western European Jews became exasperated because those "new" Jews took back Jewish integration to square one. In time, it would ended in Holocaust.
We are about to see the similar thing happens with Chinese of Thailand descent and "new" Chinese. Those mainland Chinese, are uncultured by Thailand (or any South East Asian) standards. It will create a new ethnic tension.

I’ve already seen and experienced quite a number of glaring examples to make me feel hating Chinese in general too, even though individually I don’t discriminate and try to keep an open mind.
It seems very basic that you respect the law, tradition and lifestyle of whichever country you visit/live in, right? Chinese don’t think that way. They want to live Chinese style in Australia, in US, in Canada, in Japan… and drag everyone else to go with them.

And yet I feel bad for the people stuck in China, imprisoned in an evil system for the crime of being born. If China didn't have such a bad reputation, then these laws wouldn't be necessary. But the people of China to a large degree buy into the propaganda their state puts out and are themselves quite xenophobic. I'm just glad it isn't my decision ultimately.

Housing should be affordable to the locals in the area and should be populated by permanent residents. The majority of the issue is with corporations buying up houses, not individuals, but individuals who own multiple houses with the intent to make money are part of the problem.
