  • On the 29th April 1996, Le Anh Tuan is kidnapped from his home in the Melbourne suburb of Glen Waverley by three men. While an undercover operative is driving the victim's mother to pay the $400,000 ransom demanded by the kidnappers, things go horribly wrong. The subsequent homicide investigations are one of the most complex and largest to be undertaken by police in Victoria.
People are fascinated, have a morbid curiosity and are drawn to stories of murder. Investigators will take you to the scenes of infamous and bizarre murders and into the enthralling investigations that follow. Footage that has never been seen outside of the courtroom will give viewers first hand knowledge of the case. All of this is done so as to unfold the drama minute by minute - just as it unfolded for the participants themselves when the victim was murdered. In some cases, viewers will come face to face with the murder him/herself.

There is a 2014 Australian movie called "John Doe Vigilante" starring Jamie Bamber that speaks of the insanity of the mild justice doled out in Australia. The movie is quite violent but it's not gratuitous, as it was earned by the evil acts of human garbage. This is about a man who's sick and tired of that garbage being recycled back into the population to reinfect it again and again. The ending shows how the creator's and director wanted to not only tell a story, but INSPIRE a change. And yeah, I'd be waiting outside the prison on release date, what would happen next I'll keep to myself, but can promise the garbage would be taken to the curb and burned. Most of us don't have butler's, or authority, to do that for us.

Well done to the Police in Victoria, England, Hong Kong, Vietnam and America on their hard work...but sheesh he kills a young man and gets life but life in Australia means 20 odd years...life should mean just that...that man known as "the executioner" will be out in a few years

Yes, that "got life" stuff is quite misleading in the UK, Australia, and Canada. Sentences for crimes in Australia, for serious crimes, are laughable. If it continues this way, one day, not long into the future, Australia will be the paradise for criminals of all kinds, as it was once their prison. The fucked up justice system there gives Australia a bad name.

"the executioner" was executed by a firing squad in Vietnam over drug trafficking. It is the "Phhuc" who'd be released in '24.

    ☹️😭
Hopefully the police force really learned from this, on how important it is, to NOT be seen when they're staking out the men waiting to pick up the ransom money!
This is exactly the reason why many people especially Asians, don't want to get police involved, when it comes to kidnappings.
    Truly sad.

Two things ... I guess you could say that Phuc really 'phucked' up on this crime. And it's sad that more "democratic" countries don't have the "judicial system" that Vietnam has … the judiciary system is set up care more for the rights of the perpetrator(s) than those of the many victims their families and friends! The firing squad was a fitting end for 'the Executioner'. A lot of lives would be spared down the road as 99.9% leopard never change their spots!

How fast time flies. As a teenager in the 90s chinese triads, Hong Kong Street gangs and our very own 5T were prevalent. You couldn't go by a day without hearing about them. Now so quiet. Definitely changed tact and went low key. With of course the exception of Roger Rogerson and McNamara murdering the Asian uni student who was apparently a runner for the triads... but aside from that, not much is known these days?

My father wanted to make a documentary about a woman that is super powerful in the Hong Kong underworld. I advised him strongly against it every time he mentioned it lol.
This was about 5 years ago and I think he basically had to retire for medical reasons, left Hong Kong and didn’t get around to it. Even him telling me about that lady made me want to throw my SIM card in the ocean and go get my name changed lol, I was like I’m sorry but I really don’t want to know anything about this project Dad! I know he never completed the documentary mostly because he’s still alive lol.
