  • How to clean your washer and remove odor.
Affresh™ Washer Cleaner removes and prevents odor-causing residue that can occur in all brands of HE washers. While bleach only kills odor-causing bacteria leaving behind the detergent residue, Affresh™ Washer Cleaner uses surfactant chemistry to remove the root problem. Affresh™ cleaner is a formulated, slow-dissolve, foaming tablet that gets under residue, breaks it up, and washes it away leaving the washer smelling fresh and clean. Simply place one tablet in the wash basket (without clothes) and run a Normal Cycle (hot option) or Clean Washer Cycle. Affresh™ brand is environmentally friendly, safe on septic tanks, and safe for all washer components. Package includes three tablets.

The best and cheapest way is to use 1 cup of bicarbonate of soda or baking powder on the hottest cycle followed by 2 cups of white vinegar in the rinse once a year .

@@Joemil271 i don't know how people can believe such a thing. Your rubber seals resist to oxigen bleach, liquid bleach with sodium hypoclorite, stain removals, powerful heavy duty detergents that are full of caustic soda, brightening agents, toxic fabric softeners etc. How won't those rubber seals resist to vinegar?
I own an 11 years old washer that i clean twice a year with 1 litre of vinegar on the hottest cycle and it has no problems. I bet it could survive 11 more years.

@@noname__7 vinegar is a strong acid. Detergents, etc are not acidic. Occasionally using it probably is fine. But I wouldn’t do it too often. I used to use bleach regularly and it rotted the machine. Technician said the same thing to my aunt about her washer

Or run a cycle of hot water and bleach. I have done that for years and never had smells or mildew.

Yo guys i know how to get a machine a big cleaner than what's basically oxi with 1 added ingredient pressed into a tablet
Try dishwasher tablets as they don't damage the machine at all
Use 1 for a machine that isn't too bad
Use 2 for a really smelly machine
    Use 3 for serious dirt
Use 4 if it's so bad you want to throw it out
A used machine should be run with 2 dishwasher tablets to get it clean before putting it into service in the home

i use vinegar and baking soda all the time to take odors out of my towels and in addition, i run bleach due to economic reasons which main component is KILLING ODOR AND BACTERIA but not detergent residue and i read can be substituted for affresh to clean washer on the cleaning cycle and its not even 4 months old. So tell me why it IS NAUSEATINGLY STINKY??? I have whirlpool 4024 stack thats xtra small as my entrance is so narrow, WHICH MAKES IT EVEN MORE EXPENSIVE THAN BIGGER MODEL. My machine STINKS HORRENDOUSLY!!! WHY is my 1st question???
2nd question, my dad thrEW out manual and paperwork on registering etc. which i had no clue one was suppose to do that? How can i get a manual and copy of all paperwork or new paperwork to register ?
3rd question. my clothes even on delicate cycle are coming out knotted up terribly and then AFTER SUBSTANTIAL TIME SPENT ON UNKNOTTING THEM ALL SOME ARE SO stretched out to where some clothes ARE RUINED.... they are not wearable...
4th. why does the washer drain so fast after just starting to wash hence emptying the very expensive soap leaving clothes still dirty.
5th. how to be able to stop cycle for soaking for long durations w/out draining on me. both with lid open or closed one WAY does allow a longer soaking time i cant remember which one
but inevitably, still drains on me. I THSNK YOU FOR TIME
    please respond. Ty
