    I've watched so many videos, and you are absolutely my favorite. I love the tone of your voice. (Some people have really irritating voices), and thank you for the time and effort you are putting into your videos. I highly enjoy every one, and hope some day I will be as talented as you.

    Lovely Meredith and again very well explained, demonstrated and filmed. I particularly like the yellow and orange monogram “L”, I especially liked the modern design - the three offset tight coils on either side of the descender were a lovely touch. I have struggled with monograms and found that investing in heavier weight cardstock and cutting my own quilling strips really helped. I know that wouldn’t be for everyone but it worked better for me. Thank you for sharing another excellent video Meredith. 😘 ❤

      Thank you! As I mentioned in the video, heavier strips are traditionally used for this technique, but I wanted to make sure everyone knew they could use what they had and it could still work.

    re washing tape sticking: 2 helps = 1) stick the tape onto your clothes a time or two to remove some of the stickiness before placing it on the paper. 2) use a low setting heat gun / hair dryer on the tape a few seconds before pulling the tape off the paper: comes off easier/less chance of damaging the crafted project

      These are precut paper strips used for quilling. I have links to what I use in the description box for each video. They are often companies based in the US but I believe they ship internationally.

    Thank you for the video! I have a question. On the blue L, the curly pieces on the outside, do they just lay on top of each other? The ones that overlap. Or do you slit the paper and slide them over each other? I hope that makes sense.

    • @ThePaperyCraftery
      @ThePaperyCraftery  Před rokem

      It does make sense and it's a great question 🙂 As far as the scrolls outside of the letter itself, I cut the scrolls where they meet another so it looks like they are just crossing but they are actually separate pieces. I hope that helps!

    Are you using your doubled up paper for your outline only or for the entire project?

    • @ThePaperyCraftery
      @ThePaperyCraftery  Před rokem +1

      Great question and I apologize that I missed that point! I only used the double-thick paper for the outline. And with a heavier paper, you would not need to double up at all.

    Does the tacky glue dry ‘tacky’ ? I use art glitter but find at times it seems a little watery. I’m very, very new to quilling so despite my age I’m a complete novice.😊
    I can only dream that I could create something as beautiful as this. 😊

    • @ThePaperyCraftery
      @ThePaperyCraftery  Před rokem +1

      Tacky Glue does fry completely. It’s “tacky” because it is a thicker glue and it can hold things together even before it dries. I don’t use it for all quilling, usually just for 3D shapes, but I’ll always mention it when I use it in my projects.

    I tried the double fold for a thicker boarder but my paper is warped and wavy. Looks terrible. I used a precut strip pack. Too cheap?

    • @anamarijahalaburic2569
      @anamarijahalaburic2569 Před rokem +1

      That might be the reason. Either that or you used too much glue. By your description it seems that your paper was wet due to too much glue🙂. Try it again but with less glue, thinner line but making sure every inch of the strip is touched with it. Do you have a needle nose glue bottle?

    • @ThePaperyCraftery
      @ThePaperyCraftery  Před rokem +2

      This is exactly what I came here to say in my reply! There are some precut strips that are an extremely light weight. I like to use Quilled Creations for this technique because they make a nice medium weight that works really well for double-thick. And like Anamarija wrote, a very, very thin line of glue all the way along the length of the strip is key.

    What weight paper is best to use for a beginner 😮

    • @ThePaperyCraftery
      @ThePaperyCraftery  Před rokem

      I like a paper that’s got a bit of weight to it for beginners but not as heavy as card stock. I usually recommend the paper from Quilled Creations because I think their strips make very consistent coils that are easy to shape 🙂

      Hmmm, I'm guessing your comment is about the moment when I take away the template to show the embossed lines underneath? Just to clear up any confusion, I do mention in the video how the lines are tricky to pick up on camera because they are just indents on the backing board. I know it's not ideal, but that's just the nature of this technique. Sorry for the frustration. If I'm misunderstanding, feel free to reach out and I'll explain anything else I can 🙂
