- I don’t usually write songs in the back of a tour bus but when I do, I come out with songs like this one. 1997 was the year we first started touring on a bus for most tours, so from then on it was always a little easier to find private time to write songs. I’d just go to the back lounge where there’s basically a couch and a side table. Lot’s of space for playing guitar and singing. The only time I had issues was when Tom was back there playing video games for hours!! Usually it was him and someone else battling it out on the latest Madden Game.
In the van days I would just pull the guitar out in the van and try to write in front of everyone and it was super awkward for me. I did manage to write “New York to Nowhere” in the van with the guys right there but that’s another story! It’s like hanging out naked with your best buds.. haha. This one still jams!

Underrated band
I found about them when playing EA Sports Supercross 2000. I was eleven but got really excited with The Next Big Thing which was the main song of the soundtrack.

I used to host a Christian radio show on community radio back from 2001 to 2009. back when i started on radio i went through a divorce and every sunday night my daughter would make her mum ring me and this little 4 yr old girl would run around her mums house singing wesponsibiwity. ironically 19 years later she just messaged me this link to one of mine and hers favourite songs. so to all of MxPx thank you for a song that has meant the world to both me and my daughter. And you guys still rock it. merry Christmas from Australia.

Literally half the sets they did for these lives shows were songs they never play live.
