    Beautiful aerial footage of beautiful Alaska! 94 is a stunning beauty and excellent mother to her four cubs. They are the cutest babies and so fund to watch. Otis, the Grazier family, fish jumping and so many other beautiful bears. God go with them and keep them safe. Thank you.

    Does mama bear feed them during the winter months until they emerge in the spring?

    • @willard622
      @willard622  Před 2 lety

      Yes, the newborn cubs don't hibernate so they nurse from their mother. I believe it's commonly 3 months of nursing before they emerge from the den.

  • @roseprincess2155

    Is that rare for a female bear to have four cubs?

    • @willard622
      @willard622  Před 2 lety +3

      Yes, litters of two or three are common, four is rare. Katmai cubs have a 34% survival rate so 94 is undergoing an enormous task.

    • @roseprincess2155
      @roseprincess2155 Před 2 lety +1

  • @ryanh4700
    @ryanh4700 Před 2 lety

    Did you see the 4 cubs and momma at the falls or somewhere else. They (94) and her cubs disappeared from that area a couple of weeks ago. Wondered if they had gone to another part of Katmai ?

    • @willard622
      @willard622  Před 2 lety +2

      We saw them off the North Platform Boardwalk Trail not far from Brooks Lodge. Didn't capture it on video, but 94 initially waited for the area to clear out before proceeding to Brooks River. If the spot started becoming congested she might have moved to a more secluded area.
