Prince is a literal entire life journey of music and yes he dressed to the extreme & could still your girl in her clothes lol. Also i think with just a little research you can find out who created what in Prince songs. 99% of Prince's work was literally done by Prince. Prince created his first two albums entirely by himself & he almost created his entire Purple Rain album by himself. You can find countless legendary musicians & engineers that state these facts, the receipts are on youtube lol. Watching Prince live is a MUST. Thieves in the temple is from a Prince movie called "Graffitti Bridge" These are also clips from the movie. I just cant compare MJ & Prince, MJ had an entire team creating his work and music. He was collaborative artist. Prince was literally walking music who wasn't obsessed with billboards & being buddy buddy with the elites. Prince could be in ANYBODIES band in ANY role & be elite at it. Prince even has created instrumental meditation music & is the best lyrcist ever. He's the best in the world to me🤗

Prince played all the instruments and performed all the vocals on this track. Please stop saying that Prince wrote some of his music … he pretty much wrote ALL his on music! Over a 1000 songs released and many more 1000’s unreleased in his vault!
You could put Prince in a studio on his own for 24 hours and he would come out with a hit! He wrote, arranged, engineered and produced his own music. He didn’t need session musicians or a band in the studio, he could do it all. Arguably he didn’t even need a recording engineer, as he could mic up everything himself, engineer and mix it too!
Absolutely one of his best songs. Such creativity. In this song, Prince accuses his lover of lying to him about their relationship. The thieves represent the deceit. The vocals are emotional, and accuse the subject of rejecting Prince and lying to him. The "temple" in the title recalls the ever-present spirituality in many of Prince's songs. It is brooding, spiritual and talks of lies, rejection and soul-searching.
Can we just mention that high kick in high heels? Perfectly balanced, graceful landing. Weightless. Prince had the sexiest, most graceful moves. The effortless split. His dancing is impeccable.
And those cut out pants are just sexy!! You are young guys, so you’ll never understand!
People trying to compare Michael Jackson to Prince … just stop it! Prince was the most sensual performer ever! MJ more choreographed. MJ more palatable to the masses. Prince more of a rebel and badass. MJ wanted to sell more records and be the biggest star. Prince just wanted to be an artist and released music that was from his heart and less concerned with how many records he sold. Prince was an exception to everyone. Handsome, versatile, talented. Not every artist is the whole package ….He was.
The vibe of the video is similar to MJ but the reason for that is not that Prince was copying, it’s because the video is showing the set from Princes movie Graffiti Bridge. And the song is from the album and movie.
You need to listen again to decide whether it’s playlist worthy. With Princes music being so eclectic, sometimes you have to listen to songs a few time to ‘get them’. Over the years it has happened to me many times. I would hear a new song or album and not click with it straight away yet after a few listens it would become my favourite thing. Your brain is mistrustful of new experiences … that’s just science! Prince always challenged listeners and always brought something new with every project. A true artist in every sense of the word.

Thieves in the Temple is part of the Graffiti Bridge movie soundtrack. It is a top ten single - charted at 6. Prince was not afraid to wear what he wanted to wear. I can't wait until you get to the LoveSexy PRINCE album cover. (Hahahaha-Cover your eyes) Alphabet Street is a BANGER!

This came out in 1990. It's pretty much a sequel to Purple Rain directed by Prince himself. From my understanding it didn't do too well. But I thought it was pretty good. Though i'm not gonna lie it helps that prince looks really fine. The soundtrack also features Morris Day and the time, Mavis Staples, Tevin Campbell & George Clinton of the funk group Parliament Funkadelic. If you've never heard of Parliament mo
Funkadelic, check out they're song Flashlight.

You guys should watch in chronological order. You will see how he progressed as a musicians and was dominant on the music scene. Him and Madonna couldn’t be stopped between 84-94.

They're having the 40th anniversary celebration for Prince and Purple this weekend in Minneapolis. Morris Day, who was in the beginning of the video, was getting in the back of the limo. He is performing. 15 yr old Guitar phenom Taj Farrant is a special guest performer and is opening for him on the 22nd. Taj is incredible to say the least. It's going to be a great show.

You should watch he extended version of this video at least 3 minutes longer. Prince did not play thew Harmonica or any instrument that used his mouth. The thieves stole his love interest. This is from 1990 and the movie Graffiti Bridge.

Graffiti Bridge was a follow up to Purple Rain. Morris Day and Prince both own rival clubs. They get into a competition about who can write the best song and the winner takes the others club. The temple is his reference to his club which is called Glam Slam in the movie, and became a chain of clubs with one in Minneapolis, one in Miami, one in LA, and one in Yokohama Japan. The Thieves would be Morris Day and his crew...just as they were in Purple Rain.
As far as that outfit, when I look at it, I just see him reviving his look from Dirty mind 1980 and Controversy 1981 where he wore bikini briefs on stage with garters and leg warmers and high heel boots. Take a look at Sexuality official video. This Thieves in the Temple outfit is a 1990 version of what he is wearing in that video just in all black without the trench coat.

Prince writes all his music. But there are small amounts of writing that he co-wrote with band members but of course using Prince’s own concept.

Good song off of the Graffiti Bridge album. This was also a follow up movie Prince made to Purple Rain, which was not very good. Prince made three movies - Purple Rain, Graffiti Bridhe and Under the Cherry Moon. Purple Rain was obviously the huge movie & album. Graffiti Bridge has incredible music but the movie isn't very good. Under the Cherry Moon is campy but good and has is an incredible album - "Mountains", "Kiss", "Anotherloverholeinyourhead" etc. The song is about a lover that lies to him about their relationship. She is a thief of his heart (temple). Prince wrote and played all of the instruments on this song. There are 16 songs on this album, this was the biggest hit from it. Overall, this album did not do well. This movie brings back KID (Prince character from Purple Rain) who now owns his own club. It brings back his rival, Morris Day. They make a bet about who writes the better song and his club is on the line.

I believe the temple is used as a metaphor for the woman in the video and their relationship falling apart because of these gentlemen she left him for.

Yeah...This is another one-man-band Prince classic written and produced by the man himself. As for the "Thieves In the Temple" title it's a nod to the Biblical reference of Jesus going after thieves/merchants and driving the money changers out of temple. In Prince's case, the "thieves" have taken his love (girl) away. Prince's pen was something else.

Yikes, this is when Prince was starting to lose some of the magic, to me at least. But don't worry there were still dozens of masterpieces before this one. And maybe two of his biggest masterpieces & Hits still to come. (One of which was "Most Beautiful Girl," which the boys have already done. And the other one, is a major banger! It's got a one word title and both the video and the song are classic! )
re. Theives, the song was alright. Pretty good. but I recall the video being a little cringey IMO. So I'll just jump to the end, to see if it was playlist worthy!

Is this really Prince, or is it his doppelganger??? Something doesn't look right or even sound right about him in this video. He kind of looks like Prince, but not really, and he kind of sounds like Prince, but not really. Not even his moves don't seem right either. Something really seems fishy. I've never heard of this song before

lol No REAL Prince fan has these thoughts in their head lol Prince was a true gemini he had many different sides to him musically, he was not musically linear. Bambi is A Prince Metal classic that sounds totally different from When Doves Cry which is a pop/rock classic which sounds totally different from "Gett off" which is a Prince Hip Hop Classic. I can go on with this. Prince changed every year, his look, his sound, his instruments. Prince even has instrumental jazz albums, progressive rock albums, meditation music. Once a person studies his catalog they'll find out very quickly he wasn't an linear artist like Madonna, Michael Jackson, etc.
