it's weird bc the remaster does better when it comes to graphics and animations but the lighting and particle effects are better in the original
Could probably just be rendering errors, they’re most likely going to be fixed when the game comes out.

It seems to be further in than the first trailer, but idk if it's 100% how the finished product will look or not
I think it's just more that when lighting engines become more sophisticated, they actually become more naturalistic and the hard lines and extreme contrasts in shadow and colour start to fade.

The lighting/unique feeling of the environment is what made me feel arcadia is alive
I prefer the original, it looks much more colourful and just looks better in my opinion

My biggest issue is the original game was very stylized and looked like everyone was painted in. The remasters just look like someone took the blur tool and smudged it all and then changed the lighting so everything is pale. The beautiful painting-like style is what I enjoyed about the original game, now it just looks a bit weird. The only visible improvement for me is the facial animations. The faces themselves kinda look off but I'll accept it. (Minus Max who has a different jaw shape and eye shape entirely..) What I don't really accept is what I previously stated. Personally I don't find it a graphic improvement that Max's hair for example looks more like real hair. The original hair model was unique and, again, looked painted. This remaster looks too much like they want to make it look like every other game nowadays. True Colors looked better than this.

I agree with this. True Colors had a mix of painted and realistic style to it. This remaster, however, they are trying to make it too realistic to the point it looks kinda weird.
What I don't get is why they felt the need to alter facial features too instead of just upgrading the textures. Slightly different nose shape, mouth shape, Max's freckles are barely visible now, just... Why?
i know... that's one of the things bothering me the most. chloe and max don't even look like themselves, they look like someone tried to draw them from memory or smth.

I don't know if I agree. I don't like the more pale skin, but the facial expressions/animations are definitely better
@@richardcarter8751 the facial expressions/animations themselves were definitely improved and that’s nice because that was the fandom’s biggest complaint before. But why should the facial features be changed as well?

1:51 two things I have issues with - Victoria's phone. Max said that if it rings, it is real. On the original, Victoria's phone will not light up until a second later. But on the remastered, the phone already lighten up. Was it because the game's FPS or maybe the developers overseen this. Also, I don't think the polaroid lens has that big of a shards of glass when you drop it. The original did it good, to be honest. But hey, at least they finally fixed the lip-sync problem after 7 years.
I also noticed this too! Hopefully the footage is from an older build and it will be fixed in the game's release 🤞

Another issue:
If Max's time-rewinding ability lands her in the same place she rewinded time in (I.E. In this bathroom), how in the name of Fantasy did she end up back in that classroom?
1:04 Nathan's eyebrows movement are amazing in the remaster. There's so much more expression in this version !
I hate to say it but the original simply looks better imo... I hate how the remastered characters' faces actually look structurally different now.
i feel like a remaster would be cooler if they didn't change the character models much (except adding redness and tears etc when needed), since it makes them not fit the handpainted atmosphere of the game. it would be better if they added new features to the game, for example, a way for us to look through the camera and take our own shots throughout the game, along with the enhanced animations. maybe even adding more to the lighting and focusing of the shots. i feel that they spent an unnecessary amount of time trying to make the character models look more enhanced when they didn't even need to.
I think the character models really needed a fresh new look because they are going to be most of the time on screen
The camera option should totally be there :o I've thought ever since I first played it that a photo mode through Max's camera would be so fun. Even the mobile port has a photo mode (not through camera but still cool) so why not?
@@PKryik oh wow i didnt even know of the photo mode in mobile. if they made that, they can definitely make a good quality photo mode for other platforms. i wish they would've :(
I definitely perfer the original. They nailed the art style with the paint like textures and color. The new one might do some things better but it feels too cold. Not my cup of tea.

No, but there is this red spot in the corner of Max's eyes that looks bloodshot and I just know it's going to distract me the whole game.

I don't really like the new look for the characters -- somehow it looks off to me. 0:05 for example, why is Max's skin so pale and lifeless compared to the original? Also the lighting looks so off. The remaster looks so lifeless, without the artistic intent of the original. why is the lighting so bright in the bathroom instead of dramatically lit?

The remaster does the facial expressions/emotions and lipsyncing 20x better than the original. I agree on painted style a little, I think the hair texture doesn't really fit with the rest of the game, but that's my only complaint. If they just made the hair do that slight bounce/wave thing in the remaster, but it still being "clay" looking, I think that would have been better suited for the style of game :)
Everything else looks great! (The camera breaking looked unrealistic in the remaster though, hope they fix that for the final product.)
Except for the weird glass vomit from the camera, I love everything about the remaster. The community def seems split down the middle from the reactions ive seen
I think some are blinded by nostalgia.
@@alexwilliams2276 THANK YOU!! this is the exactly what ive been thinking, ive been seeing so many people saying "why does chloe look like that" or "why do their eyes look moist" and i genuinely dont see any problems with their new models, like obviously the original is great and they look painted in the original but the remaster itself still looks painted just more polished and i dont see a problem with it.. everything looks so crisp and and even more beautiful now
I don't really like Max remastered face. She has less character and is less "Max" if it makes sense. Maybe it's because of nostalgia idk. But Nathan looks better in my opinion in remastered version. Less like psychopathic villain, more like scared teenager.
@@alexf225 i completely agree, max does look a lot more pale and really weird in some scenes, and her freckles pop out more in the original. i think max looks better in the original but the remaster max is also okay
I wish they could’ve kept more of the vibrance and lighting of the original with this new redone facial movement and expression.
I will always remember Life Is Strange 1, actually because of the natural environments. The trees n bushes had such a unique look I’ve never seen again. 2 had the excellent varied endings
I really prefer the original. I admit that part of that might be for sentimental reasons. It's how I played it for the first time and it will always remain special to me. I definitely feel Max is cuter in the original
Why is the bathroom so bright? The new lightning lowkey broke the "tense" atmosphere.

The original had more saturation and warmer colors - while the remaster is more detailed but darker contrast.
Here's my opinion : I think the remaster looks great with the expressions! But I think they remodelt Nathan a lot , tbh he looks uglier and the light sometimes is too much , but I can't wait to play it and i'm still looking forward to this.

The body animations are the same.
But the facial expression are not the same.
I like that detail of Maxine's tears, She knows who Chloe is deep inside of her heart.
Some of the lighting of the color hair are a little weird, but well.
The gameplay is a copy-paste of LiS1, it dissapoints me because i expected something a little more "alive", since they managed to improve on facial animations.
That camera part looks like a graphical buggy because there's some white glasses coming out after the camera broke?
I kinda scared but well, i keep My hopes on this.
The animations of this wonderful movie are solid.
I expected the animations being like True Colors but whatever, at least the facial expressions are good.

Aesthetically, the OG looks better. Better lighting and the character models aren't as uncanny. The remaster just looks kind of dull.
Disappointing. Just... disappointing. Multiple times I found myself thinking the remaster was the one above, when it's the original which is above.
Even the old facial mocap animations are better in some instances. I really hope they delay it once more, or that modders can polish it for PC
Same here, other then the tears on max and hair movement i honestly couldint tell much difference other then the lighting is different (not even better, just different) kind of dissapointed honestly.

distant shots, cinematic shots, lighting and color look much better in the original. while the upclose like face shots and lip movement is better in the remastered
I like the details of the new version, but the not the smoothed out faces. I like the old faces better.
Max and Chloe's faces look totally different now.
just combine the face expressions/graphics and the lighting of the original one..

They took all the artistic styles from remastered edition like saturated colors and extra particle effects. For me the best combo are the new face models + everything from original games.

I like that the facial animations and exprecions are so much better in the remake, generally graphics-wise it is tons better and the animations are also more fluent, yeah the colors do look a bit dull, like, kinda pale , that´s something they could´ve done better BUT , I personally like the remastere version more tbh

I prefer the original when it comes to lighting, and don't see this a full price worth. The it's not even close to the newer games
It's a remaster, not a remake, tho.
Also in terms of the lighting I would wager that most of the lighting in the original was baked in and done through the art rather than through a lighting engine. It's quite possible that the remaster is using the lighting engine much more and therefore the lighting is becoming more naturalistic.

The eyes alone...Chloe showing fear, Nathan showing rage, and Max actually looks terrified. It's everything I hoped it would be.

I more love the graphic style in the first version. I think the characters lost their face personnality in this new version....
i love the details add on, you can see Max tear after she walking up, but the the color it a bit dull to the original, also the skin tone

The remaster version is too dark. I appreciate they give more emotions to the characters but it just felt so wrong. Especially to Max because it feels like we're playing as her twin or her doppelganger in remaster. Also, it still has glitches and bugs.

i was hoping that the emotions would be better but from what i’ve seen sometimes the original looks better? i can see how it’s more clean i’m just a little disappointed. it’s still a great game and i love it but i don’t think it’s really worth buying again, imo

i preordered it the first time it was released separately, however after they announced the delay i had to preorder it again because it told me i didn’t own it, when in fact i had already bought it once

That always the problem with Rematered games. In fact, it truly better quality. Face and textures look more realistic.
But this improvements have a cost : the global Design is change because most of remastered just focus on some improvements without correct or adapt the global aspect of the environnement. And because of that you get a game that have better graphics but look worse because not all aspecs look the same. In this case it looks that character are more realistic but the environnement look bad, like it was designed for another game.
But luckily it's not as bad as GTA Trilogy xD

The Remastered version with all the new detailed faces is slightly creepy to me. Sticking with the original. It is just my opinion but I don't care for lip syncing.

Yo Creo que era inesesario hacer un remasted ya de por si se veian bien ambos juegos pero aca Hicieron la gran gta trilogy No hicieron mucho cambio parece que le agregaron algo luminacion Desde que jugué life is strange me enamore de la saga pero desde que ví que iban a sacar el remaster se me hizo inesesario de toda manera ya que aún el juego se caracteriza por su animación y más cuando ví el gameplay no note mucha diferencia hasta me atrevería a decir que pudo aver Sido mejor darlo gratis como un DLC o regalarlo a quien compró las versiones deluxe hasta la cara chloe nada parecida la cagaron horrible
I don't like this game. It has many flaws, and yet there is something so comforting about the atmosphere in this game. I can't help but have a soft spot for it
