I’m not sure if I like the idea of the “real time fishing.” As I usually play later at night on my down time. I’d really like to see this as you get to decide if you make the lobby/game. Just sounds like a bad idea in general. Also the final reel in with the black screen is a no go. 😬
If the whole real-world-time fishing is a thing, it's absolutely idiotic. Like you, most adults have very specific times they can slip away and play games for a bit, and it's usually after work in the evening, after kids are in bed, etc. Like who in the hell is going to wake up at 5 or 6am real time in order to fish in the morning in a video game? What about those people that work graveyards and are up all night? Are they stuck only ever fishing at night. I really can't fathom that this is truly how it works. I could understand if it's an option you enable, that's fine. But good lord, imagine having to schedule video game fishing to time in real life. Insane.

Why would they not wait for the Way of the Hunter hype to calm down, and release this when people are looking for something new to play. If they would have waited 6 months they could had used that time to properly make the game instead of all these bug patches and whatever the hell this is that they gave us. Just my opinion, may not be a big deal to the average joe looking to play bass master on the wii😂

I am re-downloading fishing planet, it's such a difficult game to get down, but atleast it looks infinitely better than this game. The lures don't even work realistically, fish go after lures they would never go after irl.. it's just a MESS.
@@wyatt_COTW you could spend $30 on Fishing Planet DLC and end up with a game way better than this with a much better variety. What sets Fishing Planet apart from the rest IMO is the games mechanics. That's not to say Fishing Planet doesn't have its own issues, it's far from a perfect game. But it blows this turd out of the water.

The world record LMB is a huuuge exception. CZcams's top fishing channels that fish public waters rarely catch 10 or even 8/9 pounders, it sometimes depends on the fishery though.
Yeah some guys catch tons of ten pounders… some guys go their whole lives without a double digit. A guy caught a 14.5 last year on the lake I live on. My best is only 6lb 8oz

The bass is not guaranteed to catch it first infact you can catch one anywhere as it took me a while but what gets me is that the popper sinks instead of being top water so I let it drop down to 2ft of depth then cuaght a diamond bass.

If you want a truly realistic fishing game, just go out and actually go fishing. I’ve fished my whole life and I can say you’ll get skunked more often than not. So disappointing. Seems to me like they threw away a perfect opportunity to really capture the fishing game market. The first fishing game to actually has offer a fully accessible, real size, open world lake is huge...but to ruin it with such poor fishing mechanic decisions and arcade style :( So sad to see. No bottom fishing (how is this not a thing???). Can't keep fish? Noodle fishing rods? Comic book POW strike notifications? Catching largemouth bass with bread? Not being able to walk/move while catching a fish? Big hands covering the entire center of the screen? Ugh.
u have to remember this game is just starting out, they most likely are gonna add bottom fishing, bow fishing, and maybe fly fishing. they most likely gonna fix the casting and feeling animations due to community dislike. TheHunter was also pretty bad at start but now it’s amazing.

I'll probably end up getting it. I've been playing CoTW for the past few years so why not. But, maybe I'm nitpicking, but the fish as seen in the water and when you're actually holding it is off. Way off. When you're reeling in the fish, the pole is bending like you got a whale on the end of your line. Then when you actually see the fish, it looks like a little baby. When you catch and hold the fish, that little baby turned into a huge fish.
Thought it a great idea when they first announced fishing... shoot a lamb, few ducks and in the evening, go fishing for a bit before jumping back to shooting game. Alas, this was not meant to be. Still, players who love just fishing, have fun.
The only complain i have so far is the missing carp fishing with rod pods, feeder rods and the ridiculous shivering of the rod when he reels in the fish, omg this looks so stupid ...

You are reeling in way too slow. You can catch these fish a lot faster. Watch the other CZcamsrs catch them....they catch those in about 15 seconds. Increase your retrieve speed.
Ugh this game looks like a massive flop from what I’ve seen so far. Sorry to be harsh but just in this video looking at the way the fish swim it’s like there’s no current at all. The rod holding animations look terrible and the fighting. Massively disappointed I thought maybe it’s not gunna be just another fishing game but it turns out it’s worst!

These lures do NOT work realistically at ALL. A trout would NEVER bite that kind of spinner bait, twitching the line with one would also just ruin the spinning on it. Nor would a trout ever be interested by a popper, only bass. Trout should be more interested by spinners and bugs, so they should add fly fishing if that doesn't exist. This game needs to heavily work on what lures work for what. Very very unprofessional game. Super disappointed that I have to stick with fishing planet.
