No matter what Tony got himself into or how much of a dick he was, he always did truly love Effy. He could always be himself around her and he was always there for her. They had a beautiful sibling bond, reminds me of my older brother :')

Fr? The violence isn't impactful and they make the images less impactful with the sound effects. Sure, the threat is unpleasant, but putting in those dramatic FSSHXKXOSMSNSJ when he's just being roughed up a little leads to a situation in which it's very obvious what they're trying to do and how they're failing.
one of the best ep. it was so creepy, full of suspense and it's the first ep we get to know Effy a lil better. i never get tired of this scene.

As disturbing as this scene is, there's something about seeing Tony break that satisfies the audience. Previously, he'd been shown to have a massive ego and not to truly love anyone; but this scene truly proves Michelle's point that Tony loves Effy-- more than anyone else.
Yeah, he only got true enjoyment from pushing people to their limits. As sad as it is, seeing the same happen to him was vindicating

Even though it was really harsh and unfair on effy I really feel like Tony understands its not OK to mess around with ppl like how he did with his friends and got a taste of his own medicine and learnt his own lesson

I hated Tony. These guys were psychos, but so was Tony. I didn't feel bad for him.

As fucked up as this was, it was somewhat satisfying to see someone finally break Tony. There's always a bigger fish, especially if your ego is that big

Tony had the best character arc in series 1. Sid's character development was more about growing a bit of confidence in himself but Tony's was much more about becoming a better human being. He used to be able to get away with whatever he wanted but by episode 7 it's not working anymore, he lost his friends, his girlfriend and almost loses his sister too. He starts to realise how much his actions have consequences for other people and starts to change for the better. It's quite a satisfying character arc storytelling wise, you see with Jamie in Game of Thrones or Steve in Stranger Things.
This scene is touching because it shows that the only one that Tony truly loved was Effy

Well morals aside, there’s certainly no denying that Tony became a better person following this event.
'Cause the majority of people are hypocritically delusional! They hate a character for being overly dysfunctional,but they are overly dysfunctional too...and calling revenge justice,thinking to be "more righteous" then the character they hate...to not have to admit that everyone is selfish and more or less dysfunctional...all 'cause if they should admit we are literally all the same,they could never call themselves "good" and the others "bad" and they'll have to give up on their sense of safety...you know,if you can't have a false thing like "moral higher ground",the one you percieve as a threat could never being put down by the group. So apparently a rape revenge or a rape threat revenge,to them is "right",to cause enough sufference,to someone they hate.

I really don't get why they never used Tony's character after. Maybe the actor didn't have the time in his agenda, but him not showing up in season 4 when Effy almost killed herself broke my immersion(and i know they said he was out studying when Generation 2 happened).
He at least should've done a cameo in the Fire episode in season 7.
