I missed out on the 84, but pre-ordered the afterlife version. I’m hoping that it’s as good as the 84. I hope they re-release the 84 bec I’n definitely gonna get it. Thank’s for the vid! Ghostbuster fan here for life. 80’s rule!
Just pre-ordered this. I remember pre-ordering the 1984 version in 2016 and a lot of people thought the price ($1,299) was outrageous. Now you would be hard pressed to find one new in box for under $4K. Don’t know if this will reach that but it’s a beauty for sure!
My problem with the Afterlife car are the spotlights in the back; they are too close together on the real car. The Blitzway will be more accurate than the actual car because I feel for whatever reason they got it wrong in the movie.
The Afterlife Ecto has four stages of weathering in the movie. Blitzway kinda went with stage 3/4 for the model. And check out their promo video on facebook-even they have a hard time getting the lights to run properly...

I really hope they announce the afterlife figures soon, I’d even be cool with just some older head sculpts of the original gang we can switch out on the 84 figures if they aren’t going to release the original cast again. Well, they can't re-release the original 84 version Blitzway ghostbusters figures in the same aspect as they already did. Each box of each figure has the words limited edition.

Great comparison & analysis. I think the only thing which annoys me on the original & it's still the same on the Afterlife prototype is the white inner wings of the brake lights. Blitzway forgot to mold the inner wings red & then just stuck a red vinyl sticker on at the last minute. Looks really tacky. You can see they've done the same with the Afterlife Ecto with just a red sticker. They don't want to spend more money on molding but for $1699 they really should fix their original error. Comparison of red/white tail light wings at 32.00 of vid. Still grabbing it though as everything else is great.
I have the 1984 version and I’m also getting the afterlife. I think the Afterlife version is really cool all rusted out with the gunner seat, it does have a lot of character but in the end I’m really glad I still have the 84 clean version. If I didn’t have one and I had to choose it would be the 84 but I can’t wait to get the afterlife version.
No not at all, it looks exactly like the day I got it. Although with that being said it has been in a glass case display since I’ve had it as well. I have not opened it except to repose the figures here and there.
Not really a question, but I gotta say for something so expensive, it's not screen accurate and it annoys me. There are TONS of tiny details about the Afterlife Ecto that you didn't mention. Like even from the original 84 mold they're still inaccurate. Like for an example, the roof rack Sniffer up top is inaccurate, or even the oversized door handles and that's just the base car. An other example of another inaccuracy of the Afterlife Ecto would be the the front passenger headlight frame is still we see it falling off when Trevor slams down the hood in the movie and you can clearly see that the winglets on the fenders are actually gone in the movie. You still see it on the car covered by rust, which is inaccurate. Those are just a few to note, there's a lot of them.
Thanks for pointing those out! Nothing will ever be perfect. I guess it’s just up to each individual if it’s worth it or not. I’m also building the 1/8 Eaglemoss Ecto and that’s not perfect eitherk.

Some say that their ecto 1 was turning yellow just after 2 years. Just curious if that is happening to yours?
