I just love watching you do what you do in any medium.
Love the way this turned out and appreciate seeing and hearing your thought process. Thanks.
Wow! Just when I think your drawings couldn't possible be any more beautiful because your color choices & subjects are already so wonderful, you top it! This drawing is amazingly beautiful! Thanks for teaching us !
Thank you so much Lisa for all you Inktense tutorials:) I was given a set of 24 Inktense blocks as a gift and would have struggled a lot more if not for your videos. I am used to painting with watercolour but these are different. Sending you a cyber hug :)
I've been using Inktense pencils exclusively for the last couple of weeks. Your idea of using a separate piece of paper, or sanding tool is brilliant! I think this technique is really going to help me. Thank you.
Awww the fluffy chicken is adorable!!! Love the painting . . .
I just saw your Secretary Bird on Derwent's website when I was looking into new pastel pencils! You are really an inspiration, Lisa! Lachri Fine Art has improved my skills a lot, and you make me believe that chasing my dreams isn't a ridiculous notion at all. Stay awesome! I wish you all the best.
this video made my day i've watched a bunch of you tube videos and people were reviewing them for the first time you're the first person i've watched that knew what she was talking about i learned more in the one video than 20 others i watched , the painting is gorgeous thank you so much for taking the time to make the video, i earlier today bought the 72 color set on amazon and these people were depressing me because maybe i'll have to return them and i've wanted them for so long, i'm glad i bought them now and i will subscribe to your channel and patrion if you ha e one i thought you said it in the beginning tytytytyty
What I love about your videos is that your first layer looks so bad, but you always turn it around. Its very encouraging when my first layers also look bad. love love love your inktense stuff!!
Beautiful drawing/painting the fish are cute and have beautiful colors. I love your inktense videos beautiful pieces.
once again your painting is fantastic! Intense gives such sharp colors. THX
I love that! Shoulder chicken! I also like that your speed of talking is just right for my brain and your voice makes it so much easier to hear. Enjoy every vid you post. Cant afford to be a patron any longer but wish I could. Soooooo- thank you for keeping me company as well as inspiring me.
Awesome! I bought a set of inktense because of you & can't wait to try one like this! I'm going to try the splattering for streaks of white rays on an acrylic painting, too! You inspire me to no end!! I joined your patreon after watching like 2 of your videos! Thank you so much! Now, if I can settle down & not try to learn EVERY medium at once, it'll be great!😁
Soooo excited to get a set of these pencils for mg birthday soon!! Beautiful work. Love it.
This is officially my favorite video of yours solely because of your special guest at the end. Too cute!!! Also, what have you done to me? I need to sleep and I can't stop watching your videos!!
This was enjoyable to watch, as always. Love the "fluffy chicken." Thank you!
Your fish came out so beautiful! Thanks for this tutorial, I bought these a while back but I don't know what to do with them. I hope you do more tutorials with these pencils! Thank you :)
ty so much for this tutorial...I just bought these pencils and was struggling a bit with them.
Stunning colours love 😁
Please Lachri, every artist must learn how to flick paint the hard way.
Love the bird and your art
I love pieces that I draw that I learn a lot from :D They may not always be my favorite or my best work, but they always have a special place in my heart :) This looks wonderful! Thanks for sharing ^^
I like how you do the water. I just bought Inktense yesterday and there's a page in a coloring book I'm kind of stuck on breaking these in on and it would require a water background. This tutorial will be my reference!
Lovely picture and I learned some nice techniques. Thanks! :)
I learnt so much from this. Thank you!
Thank you so much! I love fishes!
Totally agree regarding being careful with keeping the amount applied as once water is introduced it can swamp your artwork !
Yay, I just got some pencils..........love these.
Though you don't have a referent they still come out nice Lisa. Great job.
Ugggghhhh CZcams unsubscribed me again!!!! For a minute I though ok you must be on holiday for a while and had to do a search to find your channel to find how much I missed!! Love the beta fish! I need to play catch up so hope the new year is being kind to you! Happy new year and take care!
Lovely work! Thank you for sharing
Thanks :D
I agree with you it is very hard to get a sharp point with these pencils much better to do it with a liner brush. I can't wait to see who the commission is for, if it is Derwent I don't blame them for giving you the commission. These pencils are not easy to use but you seem to have it down to a fine art. I have seen other people on you tube using these pencils but they really aren't using the pencils to their best advantage. I hope Derwent send you their water colour pencils as I would love to see you use them in conjunction with each other. Once again it is very hard to get a fine point with the water colour pencils as they tend to crumble but liner brushes or derwent water brushes help create the sharp lines, that are needed and as for the intense white pencil well for creating highlights it is just wonderful. I don't know why you weren't that fussed on this painting, you have done Inktense proud
I guess having a color swatch sheet with the dry and wet would be helpful in figuring out how they would turn out.
This is Grreat !! not only to see the rough layout ( &your confident, just don't worry about it ! ) but the ongoing process & development-& the 'Artiste's eye' pulling it round, modifying as you go, re-adjusting the colour scheme as it unfolds ( & I'm not sure I like that-so lets do this,.. ) You are teaching us that we can actually improve while we 'Do it '.. just as you show it. Absolu' Love it..I learned a tremendous amount in many directions. ( As an aside, I had a swimming accident 40 yrs ago & my hearing also needs some lip-read. Your machine gunfire speech is very clear & amazingly , I get most of it, but, Is it poss to get a transcript of this Tutorial Lisa, please ? )Thankyou.
Wow. I love my ink intense pencils. Seeing this video. I want to do fish .
I love this!
Dear Lisa, would you mind doing a review on Faber Castell Albrecht Durer watercolor pencils? They should be of top quality like the polychromos and I would really love to hear your thoughts on them! Thanks much!
Loved this! Lisa, have you ever painted koi? I would love to see that! Thanks!
When you smooth out your brush strokes with a mop brush with Inktense, do you mist your substrate with an airbrush the way you do with acrylics? Or just go in with a dry mop brush? LOVE your videos!
ok lets try to guess what lisa's commission is for!
i think derwent are gonna put her drawing on their sets.
me too!
and they should :)
In her newest video they just did :)
Amazing....as usual 😍
Thanks :D
I love your art it inspires me sooooo much!!!! Keep up the great work!!!!!
Great point about making seemingly straight lines slightly curved. Motorcycle jacket designs include straight lines across the front and back. They stand out against all of the background because {Mother) Nature doesn't make straight lines.
This is awesome :D
Just purchased the 72 set on a lark and wondered how to use them. Your video is brilliant. Thank you. One question can anyone answer - do you keep a separate set of brushes from your watercolor set for the intense? My concern/question is, will the ink stain the brushes if you don't wash them out right away? Can they sit in water while you work?
WOW just WOW X
when do you plan on reviewing the Marco Renoirs? I don't want to rush, just excited tp know whether they are worth it.
i didnt know that the graphite pencil that came with it just blended away like that! ive been making so much more work for myself!
Loved the video. I have been learning to use watercolor pencil and came across the Inktense pencils. I have not used them but I am wondering if you can clarify something. Derwent calls them watercolor pencils with "ink-like" color but others say they are not watercolor and they are just solid ink. What medium would you classify them as?
I wish I could give an extra Like for the way little shoulder chicken fluffed up at that kiss 😍
Great tips. A little does go a long way. You have to be really careful not to press too hard with the pencil when you only want a wash.
Do you use designated brushes? I am a bit cautious about using my sables. Comment please. Your video inspires me to explore more with Inktense, Thank you. Derek.
I won a large set of the inktense pencils it's a shame the reds are not colorfast, they very vibrant, tfs
You are fabalous thank you
nice
I love your work with inktense I have 12 of the pencils and the 36 set of blocks do you have any advice on using white it seems very hard to work with I don't know what it's going to do until it totally dries do you have any hints helpful tips on using white by the way what ground do you think is best for working with inktense blocks
Hey I would like to buy these pencils but I dont know what kind water soluble graphite pencil to get. What brand do u use?
I use the one by faber castell :)
Mkay thank you X3
I am sorry to ask but can U tell me the name of the pencil because when I google it. I Keep finding some that don't blend out when U add water e-e
Hi Lisa! Im gonna buy the inktense pencils can you tell me the size of your synthetic hog hair liner brush?
I have a #1 and #2
Im looking for them on amazon. cant find them. can you tell me where to get them? all i see is 0 is that good?
very cool!!!! can tell my age lol. would you recommend the fabriano studio hot press for learning? my hobby lobby just started carrying. doy ou prefer the hot press with the ink tense?
I love that you did Betta, or as they are commonly known, fighting fish. I have owned many of them over the years, both males and females. These are obviously males, so my fishy brain is like "noooo they will kill each other" which is silly since it is a painting and not reality.
Desire Baker my thoughts exactly lol
Desire Baker well they could be getting ready to brawl? They are looking like they are turning into each other to start kicking butt!
Desire Baker Hi, you're right. I haven't even thought about it. Maybe the painting should be titled "quiet before the storm" or something like that ...:)
Desire Baker if she is going to paint realistic pictures then the fact that they can't be together should be reflected in the drawing and only have one male. Or a female and male together.
I just got the derwent artists set of 72. there is a layer of something on the top and i cant seem to add more layers. can someone explain?
Thanks
I have the Derwent Studio pencils (same pencils as Derwent Artist, just thinner) and I've noticed the same problem with layering. They don't have strong pigments and after a few layers the color creates a smooth shiny surface that doesn't take more layers.
The pencils on this video are different though. These are Derwent Inktense. Totally different medium.
Wax bloom,
Renkku, I think i might have found a solution. try to keep adding light layers until the colour shows and when you have enough use white to burnish it
or you can just apply a little more pressure
Thanks :) I'll try it out.
More pressure works in some cases, but it will usually start to hurt my hand after a while.
Can inktense be used with wax/oil pencils?
is tooth important for inktense?
Will inktense work at all with gel pens being they are water based?
You can use wax and oil pens or gel pens over the top of inktense as once they are dry, they are permanent and waterproof - so long as you don't put them on thickly as dry pencil initially. If there is a very thick layer of colour it's possible that it doesn't all get activated and will then bleed when a water based pen is used on top. This is what has happened when people say that Derwent lie and the colour isn't waterproof.
😘😍😍😍😍😍😍
I learned so kuch already Aboutaleb inktense pencils from you. Plessers try iT on cotton. I am a quilter. IT Goes Vera Well Gr Marry from the netherlands
