Hey Michu, as a doctor i am addressing this matter here on hearing about the question you raised that why fragrance is bad for our skin . The thing is products containing fragrance(skincare/makeup) leads to contact dermatitis which is a delayed reaction (occurs 10-20 years later). So what happens is if you apply the same product 10-15 or 20 years later, it will start sensitizing your skin, and our skin becomes allergic to other ingredients in that same product or OTHER FRAGRANCE FREE products too. Hope this helps.

Edit: Nowadays, big brands (pharmacy/drugstore/high-end) need to hear that fragrance is not our friend and has no place in skincare or makeup.
However, the products which your dermat told you might be to treat your skin concern for a short span of time, and may not even be needed for the long term use.
So it means i m using a product with fragrance for a long time then after 10 yrs or more ..Contact dermatitis hoga or u r trying to say that once we stop using it and after a while of we use it again then dermatitis hoga ??
