About The Museum of Classic Chicago Television:
The MCCTv (FuzzyMemoriesTV) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose primary mission is the preservation and display of off-air, early home videotape recordings (70s to early 80s, mostly) recorded off of TV (in Chicago or other cities now too); things which would likely be lost if not sought out and preserved digitally. If you have any old 1970s videotapes recorded off of TV please email: tapes@fuzzy.tv Even though (mostly) short clips are displayed here, we preserve the entire broadcasts in our archives - the complete programs with breaks (or however much is present on the tape), for historical preservation. For information on how to help in our mission, to donate or lend tapes to be converted to digital, please e-mail tapes@fuzzy.tv Thank you for your help! - Zábava
what a time capsule! Love it!
I just ordered a Mr. Microphone.
"Hey good lookin, we'll be back to pick you up later." 😂
Fun fact: Studio 108 is now a Top 40 radio station as Z107.7
Used to watch Wrestling At The Chase on KPLR 11 with my Uncle Earl (RIP) every time I would visit family in East St Louis.
I love a good 50's monster movie! 🍿🥤
I remember this movie. I'm 53 and I saw it on a Saturday silly monster show. Thanks for this!
Born in StL! Cool to see something from KPLR 11 in the page
Thanks Fuzzy as always. Judy Strangis is the niece of legendary performer Spike Jones.
Her brother Sam was involved in the production of various television series including Batman, Room 222, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
3:27 WOW ....Mean Mary Jean I have not thought of her in YEARS. She was very popular to Mopar fans back then. I myself had a 70 Dodge Dart GT 340. Wish I had it now.
Judy Strangis :) Yummy and you gotta love those short jean shorts!
I,m in Detroit, have the Video of this and use to watch this on Creature Feature back in the early mid 1980s and on Sir Grave Ghastly.
Reminds me of Karel Capek's War with the Newts. Taken out of their ecosystem, they start exploding land to shrink the continents we live on.
Ahh yes... Good ol KPLR 11 in St. Louis
Mr. Microphone.....well that is all we had back then for karaoke.....as far as the crab monster call Godzilla then we have fresh cooked carb legs. Love it. 🦀
Where I grew up we had a local station that would run old movies like this on weekends sponsored by a Aluminum Siding company. They would hawk their siding about every 30 minutes during the movie with numbers to call.
Jim Walter homes would do the same with TV movies and radio shows
I remember those! It was a company called Leadco. I think there are clips of their commercials on CZcams.
I wanna boogie down at the No Name Disco
It's the Professor!
Hey Fuzzy, greatly appreciate your media preservation work as always. Just a question: I’m wondering if you have any late 70s-early 80s cable TV material in your collection(s)? I’d especially be interested in any possible Nickelodeon footage from that period.
I’m heading to Mid-city Chrysler Plymouth
Me too I got my eye on the slant 6 Aspen with 3 on a tree , AM radio and plaid interior.
Craaaab people, craaaab people!
Is that girl with the pigtails, the same one that played Dina girl on Electra woman and Dina girl?
Yes it was Judy Strangis who also was a regular on Room 222 ( per Fuzzy's description).
Yep thats her.
I had to look her up because it was so long ago ....she did LOTS of TV. I found a podcast with a interview of her from a few years back. Its episode 49 (2013) from Comic Book Central Podcast. Worth the listen , I enjoyed it.
Those are some pretty excellent commercials.
I agree - a nice assortment of local ads. That and the fact it was a b-movie made me want to share it even though it wasn't complete. :-)
3:30 DYNA GIRL!!
I thought, on that "Hot City Disco" promo, I saw a performance by Tina Turner in the period between her divorce from Ike, and her massive comeback in '84 with the #1 "What's Love Got To Do With It."
03:58 is that Cameron Mitchell?
JESUS CHRIST!!!! $2.79 for a Steak Dinner, we were at a Restaurant in Oregon Ohio not far from Toledo, just a cup of coffee cost $2.69. And you know what also, food tasted better back than also, been to many restaurants with my brother and we had noticed the food doesn,t taste that good and rich like it once did.
Is that DYNA GIRL ? 3:29
I'm not crazy about that clown on the ride with those kids at 20:42.
1:56 Ugh, still doing that backwards crap? Look, I don't know how long it takes just to update your website but just put this on the Internet Archive, pleeeease?🤦Thank you.🙄
Pity there's no KPLR-TV sign-off after this.
Fuzzy: You are in the Chicago area, did "Hot City Disco" ever air on Chicago TV? If so, what channel?
