In the words of Will Smith, “Parents just don’t understand”. Sometimes we don’t. We don’t have all the answers and sometimes we don’t KNOW the right words to say. IMO, I feel Erica did her best in that moment. She gave mom answers. As a mom of a bi-racial daughter, there was MUCH that I did not understand concerning the things my daughter was going through. She was picked on for being b-racial and so much more. I did the best I could to make sure she knew that she was LOVED and she is BEAUTIFUL.
