    This always has been one uncomfortable thing to think about, I was not there. I feel bad for Pete and it must have been very hard to watch the Beatles skyrocket to fame. But in my memory there was always Ringo and the Beatles were not the Beatles without him.I hope Pete went on to have a great life.

      Pete has done really well from the early Beatles compilations that have come out. He worked for the postal service for a long time, but retired quite wealthy from the Beatle albums.

    I met Pete in Austin, Texas in 2008. He and his daughter were there after he played and were selling sticks, posters ect. BUT the most interesting story of all is Jimmy Nicol who was a Beatle when they were at their height when he played for 12 dates while Ringo was in the hospital.

      He bounced back. Got married, had a family, steady civil service job. Back to drunming in 1988.Good steady living as an ex Beatles since. Massive payday in 1995 with the anthology. This all round good guy got what was long overdue.

    You can def argue the case that the beatles cost two of its members their life..George never was right after he was attacked according to his son, and we all know about John. I bet sometimes he thinks he had a lucky escape...he has still done okay for himself. top man.

    There was a rumour that's Pete mum wanted to manage him separately which was the final straw, personally if I was Pete I would hate to be trotted out every couple of years for nearly 60 of them just to talk about what happened...

    He would never have cut it with them the way Ringo did.... He was a mommas boy and I suspect Lennon and Macca hated that. He did alright for himself so end of story ..

      @Colsoloact-po9wv Před 6 lety +1

      Yh glad they cut him in for the anthology, he does deserve his place in The Beatles story, I think Macca and Ringo should meet with him to bury the hatchet before it's too late! So much water has gone under the bridge now....it's gone 60 years FGS!!!

      Colin Powell - Entertainer plenty of musicians left bands before they had success. Most of them admit their leaving was a positive step for the band. Pete is no different except he refuses to believe Ringo was a better drummer & still says he doesn’t know why he was let go.

    • @MrJamberee
      @MrJamberee Před 5 lety +1

      He sure did a lot of interviews over the years. And he will never really get over it. But he doesn't seem like he would really have been a fit with the Beatles.

  • @Michaelfranks6969
    @Michaelfranks6969 Před 3 lety +2

    Pity this when he the bus of fame left without him. Reason was he was mediocre drummer which was known to the three lads. It only exceverated when they start recording and the recorder notice this. Then as John said they were looking for a better in which they did on the perso called Ringo then suddenly fame blast-out and history made it.
    Anyway he was still blessed he earned monies easily on the baeatles anthology, not bad for a mediocre performance.

    Sorry seriously. . Had he remained the beatles drummer they would not have had that great feel ringo have them. Not to mention his lack of personality back then. Nope he's not a Beatle

    • @thekitowl
      @thekitowl Před 6 lety +5

      NICK LONGFORD yeah that about sums it up. Pete’s Atom beat was adequate for Rock & Roll but not for the original music that was to follow.

    • @thekitowl
      @thekitowl Před 4 lety +3

      StevieEthereal 66 pete’s playing has evolved over the years & he’s still average. He wasn’t one of them & didn’t even make an effort to be a Beatle . Had he been more social , changed his hairstyle & improved his drumming while he was with the band , the decision to replace him
      Would not have cropped up. What future Beatles masterpiece’s would have sounded like with Pete playing is up for debate. Just thankful those
      Songs sound as brilliant as they do.
