Hi I'm Tati Westbrook, thank you for watching, please be sure to check out my collection of makeup review videos where you'll find my best beauty tips, tricks and favorites on everything from top luxury cosmetics to my favorite drugstore makeup. Whether you're looking for a new product review, tutorial, beauty tip, haul or perhaps even a giveaway, I hope you enjoy watching.
One time I saw a tweet that said: "girls who wash their makeup off at night even while blacked out could get away with murder." and I felt that.
facts
đ
I am suprised everytime, when I get home, wake up, and I have done full on facial rutine. But I have no recollection of it đ
Guilty as charged! Ahahahah I dont even remember how, but I do!
Agree! That is the easiest anti aging tool so to speak
I would love to see you do a full skincare routine for day to day and your âextraâ skincare day! I struggle with understanding whatâs a necessary product and whatâs not and what order to use products in! It gets overwhelming shopping for products because so much is out there.
You should check out Skincare by Hyram here on YT! He goes super in depth with skincare products and keeps things pretty simple (in my opinion).
I agree!
Yes! Iâve been waiting for the Tati skincare video for ages!!
Hailee Perry
yes please
Valerie Keyser Iâll look him up! Thanks!
âI canât remember the last time I didnât wash my face at nightâ my depression could NEVER
Abby Kiehlbauch maybe ur depressed cz u donât even wash ur face before going to bed
@@ireeenii1423 I hope you're joking
Iren Arushanian just from that I can tell youâve never had to deal with depression
Ok but like same đ
I mean maybe it sounds crazy but doing a nice nighttime routine makes me feel a little bit better .. you know self care and stuff lol
To anyone getting this: PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS AROUND YOUR PETS! Dogs/Cats have sensitive hearing and this device makes ultrasonic vibrations that really hurt their ears and freak them out! If you usd this please do it far away from your pet or let them outside maybe to play in the yard. We want clear skin but donât want our fur babies to suffer for it!
Austin Jordan thank you for the heads up I have a puppy.
Thank you! I have three pups and a kitten, wouldn't want them to get hurt
That can apply to music, to phones, to appliances... so what are you really sayin here?
Paula Ć paniÄ that if your dog is being bothered by any ultrasonic frequencies you should try to stop that
If it bothers my dog when I do something, she gets up and walks into another room, where she happily goes back to her nap.
Esthetician here! I use this tool all the time and it really is great for loosening build up in the pores however it may not totally remove the blackheads on its own. During treatments, I usually use this tool and then finish up with manual extractions. I would not recommend manual extractions at home. Additionally, be careful with how much pressure you are applying, you don't want to be pressing too hard as it can damage the skin. I would also recommend always working in an upward direction on the face.
Using the other side of the device to penetrate products into the skin is a game-changer and I would highly recommend using it that way as often as you would like to help serums, moisturizers, hydrating masks, etc get deeper into the skin!
Thank you!! This was super helpful đ
Rachel Harrell everyone please listen to her and donât overuse this tool on your face on the extract side.
How often would you recommend using this device? And in your professional opinion, do you think the pore vacuum suction device is a hit for blackheads?
Thanks !
Thank you for this!
Sorry to ask for like free advice but do you think a product like this works better in conjunction with like a chemical exfoliant?
Not at the same time! But like using this to start that process of getting the top layer of the gunk and then following it up with a chemical exfoliating toner and penetrating it deep into the skin to help?
I have dry skin and suffer from a lot of dry skin build up that causes whiteheads and Iâm hoping that combo will work since I just bought a product like this.
Thanks for any help! And stay safe! đ
I think that it is important to mention the difference between blackheads and sebum/sebaceous filaments, too.
What is the difference? I have no idea haha... Would love to know though!
I agree , But on dermaflash web site they are actually using the word "blackheads "
Jamie are both black in color?
@@slothsgonewild7359 blackheads are made up of dirt, bacteria and a build up of dead skin causing the pore to appear larger, whereas sebaceous filaments are just the natural oils coming through the skin (which you should have). So having a device like this can make your skin produce even more oil if overused (due to stripping the skin too much)
slothsgonewild blackheads are usually deeper and sebaceous filaments are usually surface and form very fast.
Also my esthetician told me that the 30 dollar ultrasonic pore extractors work just as well! Just a heads up for people! I just ordered one!
Watched half this video, bought a 40$ one on amazon and now I'm back and I can't wait to wash my face đ€Ł
Bustle did an article where they have listed a $30 pore extractor ....i ordered it on Amazon too!
@@devannyagustin3307 I have to admit after trying it a few times, I like my handheld/ tech free one better lol. I couldn't seem to get the pressure right.
Can you please drop a link here for me đ Thank you!
I think this tool would actually be removing sebaceous filaments and not blackheads. Blackheads are deeply embedded to the skin, while sebaceous filaments are "easier" to "remove". Quotation marks because you can actually remove them permanently đ€
nana7fan thatâs what I thought
Agreed, you can remove the sebaceous filaments with oil cleansing which is probably better than using this device
Eren Riestra what oil is good for oil cleansing?
Lindsay G Laura Mercier has a great one.
Tati's voice is so meditative, even though I don't know her she feels like a friend!
i wouldnât trust that lmao
meditative is the word! meditating is a verb
vegan queen lol thx đ
GUYS she sings like a precious, little bird. Her voice will charm the birds from the trees... Iâm serious!
"feels like a friend" lol
TATI DO A JEWELRY COLLECTION, I always love seeing what rings youâre wearing!!!! that would be so lit
carissa202 yes !!! Great suggestion
carissa202 yes yes I have asked that before as well!
Iâve found a lot of the jewelry she wears on Nordstrom. She wears a lot of David Yurmam and similarly priced brands (hint: all her jewelry is in the thousands and tens of thousands... so be ready for that lol)
Also, another thing is most her clothes are Nordstrom too.. so if sheâs wearing like in this video a green jacket just green jacket on Nordstrom. Most the time Iâve easily found what sheâs wearing on Nordstrom
If she ever brings out a Christmas collection, she could release jewellery then. I would also buy a Tati Christmas bauble for the tree - I know that sounds weird but she has flawless taste and I think it would be cute.
I love that when Iâm interested in a product, but hesitant to buy it, I can always count on Tati for trying it first
So true!
Im just now realizing that I haven't tried any new make up products since you stopped posting videos and I miss it, I miss getting your video notificationsđ„ș Your well being is the most important thing though, so I truly hope you're doing good and you're happy â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž Sending lots of love â€ïž â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
This seems a little misleading since blackheads typically almost always have to be extracted. I consider this device more for removing sebaceous filaments, which most people think are blackheads and they are not, rather than true blackheads.
EDIT:
* I also want to note that Iâm not saying Tati or her review is misleading! Iâm just noting that a lot of companies market devices like this for blackheads when really they are more for removing dirt and grime from sebaceous filaments. I feel like a lot of people are going to be upset if they buy this and their blackheads are still there. đł idk! Just do some research everyone before spending a lot of money on these kind of devices for an issue that most likely wonât be resolved! đ
And there's tons of the same device for 20 dollars on AliExpress and all that sites, and they pretty much the same thing...
Exactly!
Yessssssssss!!
Totally agree
YES đđ»
Pores donât open or close. Most important thing to do is to actually moisturize before extraction because what you need is to soften the âgunkâ for easier extraction.
And guess what is a big culprit for dark looking pores?? Self tanners! Youâre just darkening up the top layer of sebum sitting all pretty in every pore.
Jenny Jenny Good point ! Or points rather .
Jenny Jenny, people put self tanner on their face??
Jordyn Radziewicz All of the time ! Most people know how important exfoliating the skin is before-hand . I donât do it because I embrace my pale skin . One less chore to deal with .
Jordyn Radziewicz oh yeah.... thereâs quite a few companies that market self tanning products just for the face.
So if I use a self tanner for the face and I exfoliate often would that still have a lasting effect on my pores? If I use pore strips for blackheads would that remove the dark color from my pores?
As an esthetician, I think things like this that are available to the public are great! Home care is crucial for keeping your skin looking good, fighting aging, and boosting results of a good facial treatment. Now a lot of skincare tools have a lot of science behind them and require some extra knowledge and sometimes training to be used properly and get the best results, so a lot of times people are wasting money on something that they don't understand how to use or how it works. While this can be something great for home care, it's important to really learn how to use it properly, and its even better when you get regular treatments at the spa that you cannot do to yourself at home, like peels, micro current, galvanic, Microderm, etc. This video demonstrated a really good use of the product and Tati truly understood why its a beneficial device!
That doesnât look like itâs cleaning pores. Itâs just scraping off the top layer of oil or moisture.
Thats exactly what im saying, in all the videos people post about it, its just taking off the serum they put on prior to the "extraction"
You should exfoliate first, than moisturize second. On my device there are steps in order: 1 Peeling, 2 Nutrition, 3 Ion. The order is in for something. đ
I was thinking the same thing. Why spend $100 dollars?
Ultrasonic scrubbers are actually really great to clear out pores but when done with a PROFESSIONAL grade scrubber from a trained pro
look up videos of people using a BT Micro! It's an ultrasonic skin scrubber similar to this made for professionals, I use it in my spa and it works amazing. Definitely something you should get done by a professional for the best results, and because there is a specific protocol we're taught to get the most out of the tool. Usually 'keeping the skin damp' is a desincrustation solution that is made to loosen up all the sebum & gunk in the pores. But if you look it up you can see that there's a ton that comes out, especially around the nose/t-zone area!
Things I would like to hear more from you, Tati:
- your cleaning routine and tips - in more detail than today. Because during the quarantine I realized how much better my skin is lately because I am not applying so much makeup. That brings me to an assumption that I am not cleaning my skin correctly in normal situation and I should step up my game.
- steamer - what to look for when you are getting one
MyBlackSheep Hi! You should definitely follow Hyram on CZcams heâs a skincare specialist and his videos are so instructive, especially on cleansing the skin ! (Double cleansing is key)
Your also not as stressed out, getting more sleep, and you have time to drink more water
Luckyyy. My skin has been the worse itâs ever been with quarantine
Double cleanse for sure. You want a good oil cleanser or cleansing balm followed by your normal gel/foam cleanser.
She has videos on her skin care routine!
This is a good tool. As a licensed esthetician it worries me when tools like this are available for anyone to buy as they can damage the face. You do not want to apply a lot of pressure or hold it in one spot for too long. Itâs great for weekly use but itâs not going to replace the one your esthetician uses. The professional grade one works a lot better! I have this tool myself and itâs the best.
Happy to see fellow Estis voicing their opinions on this! Happy Cleansing! đ„°
Lizzy Simmons, Is getting a Hydra Facial similiar to what this tool does? I have had 3 hydra facials within the last 2 years.
@lizzysimmons what are your recommendations for finding a good esthetician? I don't even know where to start!
Andrea Lynn try looking up massage places or spas near you that mention estheticianâs!
I'm 140 hrs from graduating my esthetics program and i always skip watching these kinds of videos because seeing it done poorly makes me so upset lol
Esthetician here, I use this during my facial but not for blackhead removal that is done manually! Please donât do dermaplaning on yourself, leave that to a professional! No disrespect to Tati I love you
Another esti here and I couldnât agree more!!!
I am a licensed esthetician and do use something super similar to this in my treatment room! As always, these days you can get almost anything to do at home so I still recommend you have a professional do this, but also if you do embark on this by yourself please please do your research to prevent damaging the skin!

Shelby Park I use clean and clear morning burst and night time. They sell in a pack. I use it everyday and my face has cleared up. For a exfoliator I use the grape fruit clean and clear. Olay day time moisturizer and night time with firming cream. My skin is so soft and looks clear. I love a full face of makeup too. Elf also has good moisturizers.
@@jennlopez9228 I feel like clean and clear has a lot of good products for sure! However, I feel like some of their stuff is a hit or a miss. I would also love some other awesome product recommendations from other brands and lesser known brands as well!
Go with the ordinary... inexpensive and very good... well at least the niacinimde serum and AHA/BHA mask is
Clean and Clear uses a lot of cheap ingredients in their skincare. CeraVe and Cetaphil are much better choices and they don't have fragrance.

As an esthetician, we use that tool and during school while we were learning the sonic blade device, I saw MANY girls leave with bruised faces and broken capillaries and were left with permanent damage. A device like this needs proper training before using.
Danielle Lou she bugged me so much when she recommended doing this stuff at home and even dermaplaning!!! Like we are licensed professionals for a reason!!
Exactly how I feel when people color and cut their own hair....
@@skybluekittty lmao I read that as in "when people of color cut their own hair" I was so confused. XD
Is it better to use this tool than the blackhead extractor? Or are they both damaging to the skin?
Estrella Nowak They both cause a risk at damaging the skin
I have this tool and I LOVEEEEEEE it. More people need to try it. Iâve struggled my entire life with oily skin and this has made a huge difference đ€
Tati: âThis is a gross grungy videoâ

Me too!!
The show Dr Pimple Popper is popular for a reason. Seeing a blackhead removed is oddly satisfying .
Enilsa Brown & Josepha Reina are the queens of beautiful blackhead extractions!!!
I would like to see this used on a person with more blackheads
Same like maybe her husband!
The channel Beauty Insider just posted a video the other day with someone using it that has more blackheads, she also used a magnifier so you can really see up close!
I miss your videos, but I hope youâre doing well Tati. Sending you love and positively đ
We used these ultrasonic exfoliating devices in beauty school and I'm honesty obsessed. I wouldn't recommend using it more than once or twice a week as you don't want to overexfoliate the skin but definitely these are a great purchase.
This product is actually removing the natural oils from your skin which will in turn make your skin more oily. Blackheads have to be extracted.
I was thinking of getting a blackhead device but I didnât know which one would work and Iâm so excited you made this video đ„°
They sale it at sephora and they are having their sale

I think she is sheltering in place with her family or near her family. Donât think she moved.
minkett1966 No she said on Instagram (before Covid) that she was moving to Seattle. Which is disappointing because her background just doesnât do her justice anymore
@@Theadhdentrepreneur Oh? I really think otherwise, i like the new background, it's more chill and zen, the all white was nice but also sometimes hard to relate to. Nevertheless i love watching Tati. I think she wants to be closer to her family in Seattle, that's probably one of the biggest reasons, she is trying for a baby (i think she still is) so the core support she needs is closer. I take from what she said before she still will film in her studio in LA after the COVID situation.
Sheâs moving back and forth

Sebaceous filaments are natural and a necessity. Sometimes they can oxidize and turn to a darker color. It is when the pore stretches that it because a blackhead. By seeing an esthetician 1x per month, it can help improve the oxidized sebaceous filaments without causing harm to the skin.

Skincare is 1 of the only thing I actually splurge in. Omg your skin is looking flawless in the closeups/no-makeup shots Tati! YESS AND YES would love to see a review on all your fav - most effective - skincare tools and your skincare routine please!
I have one of these, but I find of you overuse it, it makes my skin even oilier as the skin starts to produce more oil if you remove it so much.
yeah because it doesn't remove blackheads, it removes the sebaceous filaments which are just the natural oils coming through your pores (whereas blackheads are made of dirt, bacteria, etc.) so the more you use it, the more you strip the skin of natural oils which causes it to make extra oil.
Ohh thank u
These give me life! As a professional esthetician this is by far my favorite tool. I havenât even watched this video yet Iâm just so excited.
Blackheads and my cystic acne are my biggest skin issues. Thankfully my eczema is only on my body and not my face and neck. I just don't have a lot of money, so this share was really cool and educational. I can't wait to do more research on this product thanks Tati
Iâm with one of the previous commenters, I havenât bought any new makeup since youâve been gone. I love your honest reviews and details. We miss you Tati.
I literally was just thinking this earlier when I was putting makeup on and realizing everything I purchased was due to Tati!
I'm never this early!! I need this product very badly! It's the worst continuous problem with my skin and little, to nothing, does the job!
Thank you, Tati, we love you! Hope all is well with you and your family! đđđ
Hi Tati!!! Please do an affordable skincare routine!!! And thank you for your videos!! They are the warmth of my day!
I havenât tried this, but I do know blackheads canât be removed this way. They have to be extracted, but the guck you see is your sebaceous filaments. Which isnât something you should be getting rid of. They look similar to back heads but there smaller and less dark. You can look them up online. Thereâs ways to make them less noticeable, but you using this is breaking your capillaries unfortunately
Abby Iâm so glad you left this comment...I was hoping someone who knew what they were talking about would say exactly what you said, so thxâșïž
I was looking for this comment! I only recently got into skincare and properly learning about my skin and I used to spend hours picking at my nose. Only to find that those black spots are necessary for your skin!!
Mrs Dubya of course!
Amelia Redshaw same here! It was only in recent months that I really invested time in researching about skincare.
Yes exactly and ending up removing them just makes thing worse in the long run :/
The steam trick I always use:
Get a bowl, bet some boiling water, some fine essential oil.
Put everything together, hang over it, put a towel over your head and done.
Great if you've caught a cold too, with a little eucalyptus oil the steam clears your respiratory system!

âIf youâre someone that picks at your face, youâll really like thisâ. SOLD!!
As an esthetician, I would say this would be a great tool to use to keep pores from getting too clogged & getting rid of sebaceous filaments. Blackheads have to be extracted manually. As far as the dermaflash dermaplaning tool, the reason it is much more expensive when done by a professional is because we are able to get more layers of the skin off which makes the skin much softer and healthier. You should have that treatment done once a month at most. Professionals also use a different kind of razor which prevents ingrown hairs & have different techniques for the dermaplaning to be most beneficial
Chloe Hanke đŻđŻ
I completely agree!!! Tati this is a great tool just make sure not to press to hard while using it. As far as dermaplaning goes, I am not a huge fan of the at home tools. Estheticians are trained and have certifications specifically for this service so we not only know how to properly do this without damaging the skin, but we also are able to use a tool that doesn't have any of the protective notches to exfoliate the skin on a much deeper level. In terms of getting a facial once a month regardless of what treatment you get it is so important because we are able to use tools techniques and products that are professional grade only. So while you are doing all the right things at home it is still important to come in monthly to get even more benefits than you would at home. :)
Yess!! Am I the only one a little insulted that she kept insinuating doing at home treatments instead of seeing a licensed professional?? Like really
She said grab a snack then freaked đ€Ł little does she know, thereâs people who eat snacks while watching videos by Dr. pimple popper đ€·đ»ââïžđ€Ł

AnimeRose lol. I totally understand.
Honestly stuff like this just destroys your pores
Exfoliation w chemical exfoliants work much better for diminishing blackheads
Shelby Yaaaasssssss. I feel like the âgunkâ she sees it just either her serum, makeup spots she missed, sebum(oil) or a combo of any of those
No amount of chemical exfoliants help my plugged pores. Once a week or week and a half helped my pores clear out so the chemical exfoliation can actually do its job better.
Tati, can you do a video on your all time favorite fragrances?? đ
I almost bought this the other day... We must be on the same wave length during quarantine lol. Love that you did this video!
Yesssss share all the tricks, all the tools, and all the tips!!!! I would love to know!

I do have it and everything else. I work at Nordstrom as a beauty stylist and get to test these out beforehand and this tool is even more effective than the big expensive one we have at work for facial appointments at our store events. Kate Somervilleâs derma quench is also great for an at home facial.
Tati I would looove to see a drug store skin care routine. Iâve been so interested in a good skin care products recently. Would love to have your input on affordable products that work, and donât cause acne!
I definitely believe the genetics when it comes to skin. My family has clear skin so I've been thankful for that. I'm trying to do better with skincare mainly for preventive reasons because I don't have a daily skincare routine. This product looks very interesting.

they do expand and contract though
hability đ€Ł

Theyâre not going to be as effective as the ones in the salon or spa. I recommend seeing an esthetician. I promise it is well worth the trip, and it does cost something, but you can be assured that someone is taking care of your skin.
Mel Thompson loves the Dermapore and recommended it too. I just bought it at Sephora with my discount!

Donât skip a day. Every time Iâm really sick and I donât force myself out of bed to wash my face, thereâs always issues. Donât skip a day!!!
I have this and love it! I bought it to prepare my skin for my sonâs wedding and it makes a difference! The wedding was postponed due to covid, so now I have even more time to get my skin ready lol!
Pores are not muscle they do not open and close. Steams can cause break outs don't over do it. Water in general softens the caps on the black head or white heads and allow it to be easily removed.
Yesss Iâve had one of these since ~2011 from Bliss (before it was in target & Kohlâs, so unsure if they still make it) just donât push or pull to hard. Thanks for doing a video on this! Would love a full video of skin tools you enjoy or are trying out đ
Hi, Tati. Hope you are safe and staying healthy â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
A closeup that is not a close up at all.i expected if was going to be gross, at least use a macro so we can see how the dirt goes out, if you put som sort of cream on the video looks the same đ€·
Yes please share a skin care/pamper routine!! You are flawless!!
Yes, please share all your skincare secrets. The more the merrier đ„°
Tati:Calls out a crappy routine with just using micelear water and moisturizer
Me: does it everyday....thats why i dont look like tati
Me too girl đ
Me too đđŒââïž
I know! That's literally me
Youâre so genuine. I love it.
lmao
I love skincare tools and routines!! please share more of your secrets and fav skincare products!!
I would love to see a day/night skincare routine. Especially now, Iâm not wearing any makeup and focusing mostly on skincare. Iâd love to see what you use and why. Thanks!
Some constructive criticism about a mistake most people mistake just because of not being fully educated on how your skin works. Your pores do not âopenâ or âcloseâ.
I learned this watching the youtuber Skincare by Hyram
Did she actually remove her blackheads or my missing something?
I didn't see any "gross" footage at all. Not sure what all the warnings were for.
Probably because she uses it regularly. My esti has something similar and it pulls crap out like crazy.
I wonder too. She said close up, but it wasn't close...
Let's see what Dr Pimple Popper has to say about this device...
Im so glad you reviewed this! I've been contemplating buying for probably a year. I think it's time. Thanks as always Tati!
Ugh.... i LOVE picking my skin, Tati. Why you do this to me??!! Now I have absolutely rationalized the price and necessity of this tool, because.... well, the results of my at-home blackhead surgical procedures isnât exactly scar-free. So, Iâm sold. I am actually just wishing it could arrive in its package FASTER. I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE ALL THE GUNNNKKKKK!! â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
