    i think the reason Kyle wouldn't want to have incentivized contract based on performance (top 5s, top 10s) is that he may already feel he isnt getting the best equipment and may think that a heavily incentivized contract may work against him getting top line equipment if the season starts to not go the way everyone wants....

  • @steventweed3599
    @steventweed3599 Před 2 lety +41

    Based on team performance, JGR has not given Kyle a reason to consider creative incentive options. That part is not Kyle's fault.
    The flip side is that Kyle's attitude towards his team is piss poor at best.
    I could see Kyle winding up (merge) with Trackhouse.
    Kyle already has a feeder system but no Cup team.
    That fits Trackhouse perfectly.
    Marks nor Busch would have any initial investment to make.
    That would set Kyle up perfectly for post retirement.
    On the other hand, Kurt has really matured and stepped up as an elder statesman in every sense of the word and proved he can and will win in anything!
    He could wind up in a leadership role anywhere.

    • @markalbert9011
      @markalbert9011 Před 2 lety

      Trackhouse couldn't afford him either and a merger???? He has already stated why he wants to stay with Toyota, to be a Toyota Lifer, to have a permanent connection to Toyota after he retires like Ivan "Ironman" Stewart. (Stewart is well compensated for being a TRD spokesman nearly 2 decades after retiring. The first thing mentioned on Stewarts web page is his 30 year relationship with Toyota.) Kyle also hopes to share a truck with his son Brexton when he turns 16. Any deal to move away from Toyota will almost certainly require his Truck to change manufactures. Not an impossibility but it certainly complicates Kyles expressed long range plans.
      Then you have to ask "Why on earth would Justin Marks want to PARTNER with someone as notoriously difficult as Kyle Busch?" I don't really see an upside for Marks. The potential of disrupting his new and astonishingly successful team is HUGE!!! I can see just a bit of potential for conflict with Ross Chastain and lets face it when things don't go his way Kyle is a dick. Just not a lot of upside here for Justin Marks. He already has a winning driver with significant fan appeal for attracting new sponsors.
      If Kyle Leaves JGR it will be for an establish championship caliber team (Ross ain't winning a championship this year, just ask Denny). Kyles top two priority's are Championship #3 and 17 more victories to pass Dale Earnhardt on the all time winners list. I suspect sharing a truck with his son is a VERY, VERY distant 3'rd on his priorities list.

I wasn't a fan of yours growing up, but now I realize it's because I never gave you a fair shake, never actually listened to you or your takes. Now with the podcast I'm finding out your a really great guy. Anyways, although Kyle has had tremendous success with JGR, I've always felt they were a bad match. Kyle is and was a wild man, he needs a team like Kaulig or heck even Trackhouse. Hendrick would work great for him now that he's calmed down a bit in his older years, but I just never felt like Joe Gibbs and KB were on the same page. Gibbs kept him because he not only performs, but performs the best of all his drivers. But Gibbs doesn't love Kyle, he loves Denny. Denny is the apple of his eye since he lost his son. I mean letting Denny create his own Cup team while still working for JGR? He'd never allow Kyle to do that. Ok rant over, I'll be honest and admit I've sipped on enough whiskey for the night. My take? Kyle goes to Hendrick.

    Hear me out. NASCAR…go ahead and sell a charter to Dale Jr. Dale, you bring in Kyle to run the car. There’s no way in hell the two of them couldn’t find enough sponsor money to cover Kyles asking price. Companies would be willing to sign their name to anything Earnhardt, especially with Kyle behind the wheel and that whole story. Yes their rivals. Yes it probably couldn’t go beyond a year without them killing each other, but, it would be good for both of them. Dale would have a car in cup with a championship driver. I am wondering if after all these contract negotiations, years of service and 2 Championships if KYLE is actually holding out for part ownership in JOE GIBBS RACING like Denny has done to further advance his career with co-ownership in 23XI RACING and like Brad has now with RFK RACING. Kyle has seen firsthand what Denny and Brad have accomplished to further their careers so I am sure Kyle is also looking to do the same to secure his future to remain in the RACING WORLD as well. JOE is getting much older and he may want KYLE to be his successor just like Jeff Gordon has become CEO for Hendricks Motorsports. I am sure he still desires to be part of JOE GIBBS RACING, but would like to see it become GIBBS-BUSCH MOTORSPORTS. Kyle has a passion for the sport and wants this team to succeed and be around for future generations to enjoy. His future remains to be unseen, but I am sure it depends wholly on owing a piece of a competitive race team that is already well established within the NASCAR Cup Series. He will definitely have an advantage and upper hand in building a successful racing team especially after he retires from his racing career in the near distance future.

    I really think SHR is a great possibility for Busch. They can afford him because Haas can sponsor him directly. The speed hasn't been there, but SHR is on the brink. Remember, Chase Briscoe is two clean passes away from having three wins this year. This isn't the status quo for SHR and Ford as a whole has struggled. NASCAR forced them to make a change to the car ahead of Daytona and made changes to inspections prior to the 2021 season that caused SHR to lose a lot of speed.
    This is where we find out how bad Ford wants to win in NASCAR. They dominated victory lanes for four years and had just one driver championship to show for it (thanks in part to the playoffs). Kyle Larson was there's for the taking, and Ford said no to Tony and Gene. Now the Chevy's and HMS are back on top. The no. 2 team this year is a Chevy team that is only two years old (if you don't count the CGR, Felix Sabates, DEI heritage). Ford has let NASCAR walk over them for two years in a row now. This is an opportunity for Ford. Kyle Busch is not only a winner, but he brings a developmental team with him. Ford's future successes in NASCAR hinge on this silly season.

    Kyle BUSCH is more than a driver. He owns the dominant Camping World Truck Series Team. KBM bought hamke chassis out. That is one of if not the best Late Model,modifieds, ect. Chassis manufacturers of all times. Kyle is grooming the GRAND NATIONAL AND SPORTSMAN (CUP/XFINITY)stars of the future. Over half of the drivers that have "made" it, cut their teeth at KBM. I have been a KYLE BUSCH (THE DRIVER) since Kurt Busch told us about him after he won his championship. Kurt gave a speech, and in it he says, "IF YOU THINK I'M GOOD, WAIT TILL YOU SEE MY LITTLE BROTHER" I wasn't a KYLE Busch the person fan until Braxton came allong and he became a great man. Does he ruffle feathers? Yes! Come on , the man is so good NASCAR has made rules to block hime from having more success than he has now... He is the only driver to win all 3 series in a weekend, and did it multiple times. After he won the BUSCH series title while also competing for the cup championship NASCAR made up the rule only allowing drivers to compete in 5 xfinity and 5 truck series races each class each year. If you compete in Cup. If they hadn't, I think KYLE BUSCH would have won a championship in multiple series in 1 year.. possibly a 3 sweep. His first championship was the greatest comeback story in NASCAR history. 17 straght years with at least 1 win in Cup. Until the recent addition of tracks we had 2 years where KYLE was the only driver that had won at every stop on the NASCAR series tour. The only race he is missing is the Daytona 500.
    KYLE is so unappreciated as a driver. He can basically when any weekend. If you are talking about favorite to wins, as long as it's not a popularity contest, KYLE BUSCH is on the list.
    I want KYLE BUSCH to leave JGR. He does his best driving when it is a challenge. Look at his performance this year even. 2 before his win on Bristol dirt, then a string of seconds that was broken at Sonoma. He could have more wins if he drove without respect. In the past he would have. He seems to be the only diver willing to stand up to NASCAR and say what he really thinks. I would love to see him at RCR. I believe that with the past that they have and the way Childress is willing to go to battle for his drivers. Kyle would thrive there and breath New life into the team. Chevy has so much power and speed, I don't see Toyota catching up anytime soon. KYLE is too stressed out this year. Another option that would be funny. Drop back to the Xfinity series and dominate it for a season to force teams to want him out of that series. A basic, make them look bad season. And take that year to spend tome with his new daughter and go racing with Braxton on Sundays. He has the facilities to build the chassis and doe everything at KBM. You know Toyota would back him. They have too much to lose if he decides to drive for Chevy. Ford isn't even in the conversation. Not enough power. Toyota would also have to throw away every comercial they have if KYLE BUSCH left. He is the corner stone of the manufacturer. He could really shake NASCAR up. That isn't a bad thing. Something needs to happen in the sport. I have a lot of friends that won't watch a race anymore. It seems to be more of a demolition derby than racing anymore. Like larson overshooting the corner and killing Ty Dillon's car. It looked like he lost his bakes but he didn't. He drove in too hard. And couldn't slow down. . I thought for sure Dillon was going to be hurt badly. Thank the Lord he wasn't.. professional racing shouldn't be 75% carnage. I am even getting where I can't stand to watch the races. With this many cautions we don't need stage racing anymore.

      Where are these 2 or 3 charters? You say it like you just run down to the store and buy them.

      I said this before and think it’s a option. Jr and Kyle buy a team or charter and have a alliance with Hendricks for cars. If Jr went to cup when probably get his stuff from Hendricks anyway.
