@@mandokir So what are some of your suggestions then professor? Maybe give the guy some resources that are more natural so he can utilize them, instead of just being a jerk off.
I really like this kind of video it's the best way to learn a language. Much better than just grammar drills.
They are both important. This kind of exercice is more enjoyable.
If you do grammar drills and then listen to something like this it helps doubly. You can do either but both works better
i agree! listening and watching media and just quickly going onto jisho for any unknown words that feel important is a great practice

Yeah, it's like a miracle. Yesterday, you're like, maybe I'm wasting my time, and then bam, I'm able to follow at the same rate I can hear, and I can hear distinct words. I hear many words I don't even know, but I'm still better than before, because I can distill the word and think about it more exactly. So, cool.

People will always be more comfortable in their home countries. Sometimes a person needs to leave their country in order to grow and discover the good aspects of their country's culture and language. (I've been living in Japan for 20 years and still love my home country)
Thank you so much for this video and conversation. I love it on so many levels. First, I am happy that I understand most of what you say. Thank you for the kanji and occasional supporting English subtitles. In addition, I literally applauded for an extended time when Mayumi san expressed that she had finally liberated herself as an individual. While I am a Westerner from an open society, we also have considerable constraints and I have been through a lot in my life as a result, as almost everyone else has. Even so, I am aware that the boundaries in Japan are even more restrictive so I am happy for Mayumi san as well as for you, Miku san, that you make open mindedness and open heartedness a part of contemporary life in Japan. If and when you choose to have children, I am confident that they will grow up to make a better Japan and a better world because of your initiatives and choices. You are both great teachers in every sense of the word "Teacher." Finally, what I also much appreciated about your conversation is the insight it gives into contemporary Japanese social issues, as opposed to limiting to an idealized or touristic image of Japan. Thank you again, and best of luck moving forward.

Miku, this seems to be the perfect panacea for my Japanese! It’s a natural conversation with simple words and spoken pretty slowly, allowing for low level learners like me to study without much assistance. This is simply wonderful. More of such please. By the way, Mayumi is so pretty 😊.

We find a Japanese person and have conversations about these topics: our country and its condition, people, behaviour, life; our plans for work/study/travel/moving to a new country. There is so little content like this out there, but it helps us know how you REALLY speak. Good choice!

Behavioral conformity within Japanese culture allows Japanese people, a sense of certainty and an ease of social interaction. The individual in Japanese culture
is experienced as a part of a whole. In Western Cultures, such as the USA and Australia,
the individual is less of a part of the whole but more of an individual in their own right.
More self reliant or autonomous. This was a great and interesting discussion.
I think many Japanese people are afraid not that their English won't sound native but that people won't understand them. It depends how strong their accent is. I have had several language partners and it's true that I sometimes can't understand their accent. (I have the same problem with Japanese though - which is why you need to be able to rephrase things again using different words, which takes a good intermediate level)
For accents, I think you need to understand all kinds of accents because too many nations speak english with their own accents. Not just the British or the American.
@@petaabay3984 I was referring to people understanding a Japanese accent. It’s notoriously hard to understand 😂 but it depends on the person.

Why did she referred Portugal??' I didnt understand too much but did she went to Portugal or something? i am interested because I am from Portugal so i got curious
From what I understood,she was saying that wen she was abroad studying English , every one in her class was from a different country and spoke a certain brand of english that was influenced by their native language, for example people from Portugal spoke with a particular pronunciation and used words that were characteristic of their language , even while speaking English.
