Great video,Charlie. My kind of riding⊠solo at my own pace and no pressure from the âgroupâ. Spectacular scenery and nearly deserted roads. Perfect. Cheers and safe riding, Dan âïžđđšđŠ
Thank you Dan, glad you enjoyed it đ
Some fantastic biking roads up and down the mountains . Shame about the drone laws but you did manage to capture some great scenery. It just makes you feel like jumping on your bike and getting out there. Thanks for taking us with you on your adventures. As usual Ride Safe đ
See some body has nicked the antlers of the bronze deer đŠ again đź.
Great video.
Keep up the good work.
@TimmyTookaLook does it usually have antlers?? đ±
Usually, little ickle ones looks cute.
There's a big stone Bear on that road as well bit further up then right on a dirt road. đ
Fantastic Charlie weather looks lovely not like back in some parts of Blighty.đȘ
Pottering along makes for a much better video, and the sound of Roger matches the ambience. I used to deliberately lose friends on tours just so that I could ride along and enjoy the scenery, there is something serene about riding alone in that sort of environment.
I absolutely agree. đ
"Crime scene tent'". That made me howl, Charlie! Like Jay said" horrible scenery everywhere you look".
It's what I thought the second I saw it! ( The tent!)
What a lovely ride ! awesome sceneries, great sunny day! and friends...what else ?
Exactly that! đ
Awesome video Charlie! The most amazing thing is the perfect example you shared about riding in a group. Go at your own pace! Well done! đđ
Glad you enjoyed it đ
Just watched the first vid on your trip on the ferryđ
The map at the end showing the route was very clever :).đđ.
It's something new I tried, using my Garmin fitness watch and setting it to cycle. đ
Fantastic video, stunning scenery Charlie
Glad you enjoyed it đ
I have been quite smitten by the loox of the Triumph Rocket. Oldie but goldie. đ€
Jon loves it! đ
Fantastic video as always. A duff knee is preventing me doing any longer runs this year. So living vicariously through your lens. đđœ
Then I shall try my best to take you on some fun journeys. đ
@@restdayriderThank you. đ
You girl, brilliant views. Stay safe.
Thank you đ
Hope you have a great time on your new 450, itâs a logical step and I really enjoyed your logic and passion as you pondered your purchase of Roger. Iâm sure the new kid on the block will give you sparkles. Iâll miss Roger though, that simple old school character. Iâm just at the Roger stage having come back after long break, 600 mile Himi for 3k, but Iâve no doubt that the itch for horses will bite later as it did for you đ. My partner arrived home and announced out of the blue she was taking her CBT and we plan to tour France next year on her newâ 2008 125 that Iâm sorting for her. So please donât run us over as you fly by.
I do still massively have respect for Roger, and he's still here. đ The new ride 'Bella' is the natural progression. đ
Absolutely fantastic riding and great camera and editing very cool. Thank you for sharing, loved it, what no rainđ
AHH the rain came in a few days. đ€Ł
Wow Charlie, fantastic riding, I know exactly where you are my self and my wife lived ther for, 7 months of the year for 15 yearâs, we lived near a place called Puentenanca, in a smaller village called Sarceda, only 45 inhabitants, we toured around almost every day on our yam virago 750, sunny morn out we would go, knew many cafes and small restaurants, eventually becoming friendly with the owners, I was a member of club mc piston motorcycle club in Santander and help with translation on their many yearly rallyâs fantastic memories, thanks for the journey, NW biker dude alias Bay Bimbler
I bet that's an amazing place to call home. đ
Absolutely beautiful, that is awesome. Would have loved to have seen you do it on the MT.
Charlie would have definitely enjoyed the roads more. But Roger does his own thingâŠ..heâs a bit tired now though and needs some TLC
Absolutely, I'll just have to go back! đ
What a great bike the Himalayan is. You must have been totally exhausted though. That is one hell of a long twisty ride requiring total concentration all the way. I rode through the lower Pyrenees mountains in southern France and was knackered of hours of that!
It was a loooong day, but so worth it! 135 twisty miles! đ
What a spectacular ride Charlie, it doesn't get much better than thatđIts a whole different world over there, I picked the perfect day to watch, its blowing a hoolie and raining here in ScotlandđBelieve it or not we actually had a beautiful day here yesterday so I made the most of it with 102 miles on my e bikeđOnly 14C but perfect for cyclingđ
Hope watching this warmed you up a little! đ
@@restdayrider It warmed the cockles of my heartđ
Great, brought back memories of doing father & son trip their last year. Encouraged us to plan more this year, Switzerland next week. Quite right to go at your own pace. Enjoy.
Have a fabulous trip! đ
What a day & what a great video. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it đ
Some great scenery Charlie, I think I recognize the first section of road by MCM Triumph vlog, do like the wiggle line Hi-lights
Thank you đ
Fantastic footage as always and looks like you all had lots of fun.
Absolutely we did! đ
Brilliant, 621 great road.
Lovely video - yep just go at your own pace, see the scenery and enjoy the ride. I love a bit of camping but after a day on the bike I prefer a real bed in a B&B or hotel. To combine biking and camping is just too knackering for me. I admire you all đȘđ
Luckily I like camping đ Having space definitely makes a difference, and I think 2 weeks is my maximum before needing a bed!
Wow, Charlie that ride is amazing. What beautiful scenery and gorgeous roads. Thank you for your content. Looking forward to part three
Thank you đ
Great watching from New Zealand. Amazing roads and scenery looking forward to the next installment. đ
Thank you đ
Great to see Faithful Roger doing hes stuff Charlie đđ»đ
Thank you for another beautiful video, love the campsite.
Glad you enjoyed it đ
Just fab. Top effort with the editing too. A feast for the eyes and ears. Youâre spoiling us.
Thank you, it's really nice that it's appreciated. đ
Looks amazing⊠Iâm currently solo in the alps and loving it!
Seriously inspirational video. A great watch and superb scenery.
Glad you enjoyed it! đ
fab vid charlie
I bet you can't wait for the next tour on your new bike
I'm definitely looking forward to it đ
I like the fact that you let the boys going ahead for you to enjoy the moment to ride at your pace/ability, I always feel the pressure to match the others. I'm living in the middle of the coastal of spain . Province of Alicante.
Thank you. đ
Beautiful, the best cycling/Moto biking l've ever had has been in that region, thinking about moving there.
An excellent video Charlie. Brilliant scenery and magnificent views and your camp site has really set the scene.
Thank you so much for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it đ
I'm really loving these episodes, stunning scenery, etc, but couldn't agree more re riding your own way. Stay safe and enjoy the rest of the trip Charlie x
Thank you Lynda. đ
I used to ride like a lunatic on high powered bikes, a few of us would go hooning off. We would think that we were miles ahead of the others, stop, get off the bikes and light up while we waited. The others would roll up 30 seconds later. It taught me a lesson. I now ride a smaller bike. Lol.
Great video! Outstanding adventure!
Glad you enjoyed it! đ
A another wonderful vlog Charlie can't wait for part 3â€â€
Yay, thank you!
Wow, beautiful weather, great sceneryđïžđ
It was! đ
Wow. What a beautiful place to ride. Great campsite. Id love that.
Well done you for sending the boys ahead. Definitely a place to enjoy riding through and seeing the scenery not whizzing fast. Take care. Enjoy xx
Itâs good for everyone to ride at their own pace and at the ability of the bike and rider. Then everyone can enjoy themselves đ
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. đ
Great footage Charlie, glad the weather is good. Being wrapped up in hot gear in hot sunâŠâŠkeep the fluids going in albâŠ..Camđ
Thank Cam. đ
Brilliant vid and stunning scenery, weather looked great and empty roads, that kind of trip is what good memories are made of, just back from Croatia and the coastal road from split to Dubrovnik looks a good one, anyway really look forward to watching the next episode of your trip, cheers Mitch đ
Thanks Mitch! đ
A great video! I love the photography, the maps, and the music accompanied by your engaging commentary.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. đ
Thank you for bringing us along for that beautiful scenery, quite breathtaking.... remain safe and love from Wroughton đđđđ
Thanks Julian. đ
Lovely video, great scenery. Sadly, due to disability & long term health issues, my days of European tours are over. Itâs just Blighty now & even thatâs not always possible as I canât camp anymore. So now itâs long day trips mainly.
Doesnât mean I canât live vicariously though!
Absolutely, I will try to keep the journeys coming for you. đ
@@restdayrider Thanks. I appreciate it!
Hi Charlie & guys another cracking video for sure
Thank you đ
Wonderful
So glad you took a nice long tour with Roger, probably for the last time for a journey like this. Roger bimbles and bumbles along really nicely. However, it's underpowered by comparison to your new 450MT. But regardless of the lack of power, Roger proved himself to be a reliable bike.
Absolutely, he taught me to ride. đ
Nice one Charlie, that looks like an epic place to ride, no wonder you were shattered đđ
Literally exhausted concentrating so much!
What a great video Charlie, amazing views and roads. You do this so good, and it is fun to hear and see from Jay as well. Looking forward to se the rest of this trip! đđ
Thank you very much, I'm glad you liked it. đ
Lovely Charlie, thank you. Watch out for ants when you put your helmet on the ground đź
That's valid, I had a tick on the NC500 and haven't learnt! đ€Ł
Hi Charlie and friends great video I was there in May this year stunning place to be on a bike took photos with the friendly deer and bear looking forward to the next episode
It's fabulous isn't it. đ
Great video charlie and yes its best to ride at your own pace and meet up along the way its more enjoyable then đ look forward to the next video đ
Thank you đ
Great riding as you say Charlie, some of those drop off were impressive. I'm fairly confident they get brown bears in that region. At least with your facillities just over the way at the camp site, you don't have to do what bears do in the woods đ I like the way you go at your own pace, too many ride outs in groups suffer with people not wanting to drop off the back and they then lose a lot of enjoyment from the riding and taking in the wonderful scenery. Thanks as always for going to the trouble to take us along ATB Big Dave Scotland
Thanks Dave, glad you enjoyed it. I know there was a lot of riding in the one, but the road was too good to leave out. đ
Looks fantastic †I have a really old GoPro and took it out and filmed while I road around central London in the early hours on sunny Sunday morning. I was amazed how much I missed because I was concentrating on riding đ so I bet you are pleased because you can look back and see the real beauty of where you were riding.
Very much so, and especially the parts with the drops and heights as I don't dare look at the time! đ€Ł
Breath taking scenery, wow! We think alike when it comes to group rides. I prefer to be in the back and go at my own pace. Like you said, everyone enjoys their ride that way!
Those cows were in the way, lolll
Really nice picture of the group with the bronze lama(?) statue.
I love the little video of the Relive app.! It gives a great perspective of what you guys rode !
Hope you slept well that night.
Take care!
I was so exhausted I slept insanely well! đ
Nice vlog, beautiful sceneries, winding roads and a lovely lady. What else does one need!! I'm currently in France on holiday with my bike and tent. Doing roughly the same. Take care Charlie, drive safely!
Thank you, I bet you're having a fabulous time in France, I do like it there I may have to go back soon!
Yes, love France too. Don't forget to watch soccer tonight, England-Holland! I'm now on a camping with a big screen đ. Take care, ride safely!!â@@restdayrider
Nice one
Brilliant roads in the Picos.. Done the same road myself exactly a week ago on a Classic 350 ! Looking forward to seeing it again the 450MT... đ Great vid.. đ
Bet that was fun on the 350 single. đ
Some lovely views! Also love your attitude with how you want to ride. I did exactly that recently on a trip with my old man and some of his friends, they've been riding decades and I've been only riding on big bikes since 2018. Riding a Pan euro through the Yorkshire Moors was a challenge for a relatively new rider, I can assure you!
Love the content and I hope to catch you on the road somewhere soon!
Thank you đ luckily, like you, I don't mind riding by myself even in different counties. đ
Great to see you enjoying the Picos. I have been several times now and still enjoy the wonderful scenery.
Hope you are enjoying the new bike. In a few years' time, you will be buying something larger and a bit quicker again. đ
Thank you, I am very much enjoying the CFMOTO đ
Off to the Picos in around 10 days time. Been a few times before, but those roads never getting boring. Great vid... thanks for sharing! đ
Have an amazing trip! I hope the 621 is less stop start for you! đ
@@restdayrider Every time I've ridden the 621 its stop-start... constant repairs and improvements. Still fantastic though! And so many other superb roads... đ. And by the way, yes it is bear country! I stay at the Hotel del Oso... The Bear Hotel... a few miles up the road from Potes!
@theheroblob5036 if I go back I shall have to venture into the bear release program area to the west of the Picos !!
@@restdayrider I'm sure you'll go back. How cool would it be to actually see one of the Picos brown bears... but not too close, mind!
Fantastic that was.
Glad you enjoyed it! đ
The worst thing about this episode is that; It's only 30 minutes and 25 seconds long!
lovely stuff Charlie!
Thank you.
Hahahaha! I'll try harder. đ€Ł
Awesome ride again Charlie No riding for soon Hurricane here in Texas not to far from my area lots of high winds & rain.
Oh no! Batten down the hatches and stay safe!
What a smashing video! Amazing pro footage đł. And I love that you go at your own pace. It's so important to make it your ride. I have tent envy though. Only have a cheap Decathlon that I haven't tried yet đ
Thank you! I do recommend investing in a bigger tent if you camp a lot. đ
Great ride , evocative spanish guitar ( great choice ) and if you didn't know the red & white poles along the road act as a guide to where the edges of the road is in snow drift conditions , non scorchio !
I only noticed those when editing, I didn't at the time!
Balmy 19° and sunny, huh. I was there in May ,14° and damp. Great riding though, you were enjoying it.đ
Wow
I am relay enjoying these views as I will be honest i blew through this rough area last Monday as it was raining and i wanted to get on towards Lisbon. I did not get to see much of the scenery and once i got towards Madrid i got hit with heat in the high 30s. I am currently working my way back to the ferry along the coast of northern Spain. once i get back to Glasgow i am defiantly gong to need a new chain and sprocket set for my Himalayan.
Wow that's a trip and a half! Mine needs new headstock bearings now!
@@restdayrider Well it took me 3 days to get to Lisbon so i did not push it to hard. The sprockets are what i can see at the minute once she is on the lift i dread to think what else will need done đžđžđž
Good Ol Roger! Wish I was out there on my new Himmy, but failed Mod 1 today (2nd time) so Iâll have to wait a little longer. Consoled myself by buying a new helmet đ
Ooooh don't worry, if it's any help I bailed on my first mod 1 and failed on the second go on the speed trap. You've got this and it will happen! đ
@@restdayrider đ
It was good to see you riding on your own. One of my pet hates is CZcams videos of a nose to tail train of British bikers in Europe. With mobile phones thereâs no reason to all stick together between places. Well done pointing out that the Picos are a no fly zone for drones, as are all the other Spanish national parks. Itâs a law that is regularly broken by British CZcamsrs. Iâve given up trying to count how many motorcaravan CZcams video content creatures are totally oblivious of the no fly zones in both Spain and France.
Thanks David, glad you enjoyed the vlog, I do try to keep things legal, fun and real! đ
Wow. You're bundle of joy. Maybe them bikes are part of a group and want to stick together. I take it by your attitude you are a solo traveller... đ
Yep, it is illegal to fly drones in any Spanish NP. There are supposed to be large fines if caught. I don't know about France. I would imagine if prohibited in an area of France you would be more likely to be caught as France has a lot more busy bodies than Spain and the French don't like people who break rules.
We did it early in the year and got covered in White dust, plenty more roads in Spain that surpass the 621!
Looks like a good trip great footage and a sensible way to ride no pressure if everyone knows the destination. What Comms do you use is it cardo 4x.đđ
Hi, thank you. Yes we use Cardo. đ
nice area.
Did you do the Ruta del Cares from Poncebos to Cain de Valdeon? It's a famous and spectacular trail.
I must admit I couldn't ride these glorious roads on such a low powered bike as the Himalayan, but I think you now have a faster CF Moto 450?
There was a trail, not sure of it's name!
Iâve missed your videoâs Charlie, where have you been?
Travelling! But there have been a few videos this month, at least 4 !
Excellent vlog. Stunning scenery. So⊠what is the nickname for the Wolf Walker? đ€
Just change one letter in the walker. đ
@@restdayrider đđ. Do ya know what, I kinda guessed that but didnât wanna say đđđ
đ
Love the video, would like to go there later in the year, did you have to change the headlights to dip to the other side of the road?
As the Himmy headlight is like a warm hug rather than a light, I didn't. đ
@@restdayrider Thanks, last time I went over to Europe big trucks would blast me with 20 searchlights and blind me. Good luck with the new bike.
how do you get your mesh connection recorded on your video??
I use a DJI mic transmitter in each helmet and a receiver on the go pro on mine. đ
Thanks
I think riding the RE is more tiring than a modern bike with more HP. Just my opinion. More torque/ power better suspension and brakes
It absolutely is! I've been saying that you have to really RIDE the Himmy , not just be taken along for the ride. It is exhausting!
B roll mania
Alrighty then! đ
So you've bought the 450 MT to cure your inferior complex when out with the boys..., yes it's been a common theme about you holding back the big-boys.
At least it has been to me. No, bad criticism intended on your behalf here, just my honest observations being expressed!
Fantastic area that I knew nothing of until 2023..., in the mean time, i've seen a couple videos from here and now yours, looks like i'm missing something. Wow, what can I say now, other than roll-on Part 3!
I've definitely outgrown the Himmy, and I'm thankful to the Big Boys for sticking by me on my journey. đ
@@restdayrider yes indeed, but we all have to start somewhere, und you were lucky to have started with the right lads around you.
I'm loving watching your progression. Ride safe and stay vigilant.
It's pronounced Po-tez, not Pots!đź
Ah, but then how do you have Potes (Pots) and Panes (Pans) đ€Ł
If you saw a squirrel it will have been red. Iâve never seen a grey squirrel in Europe.
Awe wish I'd seen it closer now!
As say the Lads are wind up merchants, it was probably one of Jay's rolled up socks, that had escaped! Or pulled through the tree on a string.
But then again, it might have been a real Squirrel.
Only Jay will know.
Hahahaha! I definitely saw a squirrel, but not close enough to see it's colour, I'm hoping for a red squirrel rather than old socks for sure!
Thereâs nothing worse that using flamenco music in a Celtic country, get informed before you travel to Spain, weâre not all the same.
My vlog, my choice. đ
Sometimes pays to ride slowly? It be a nightmare giving it the beans? And coming across those cows đ! Nice video â€x
Thank you đ
Great video charlie . fantastic views of the mountains , always best to ride at your own pace ,
Thank you.đ
