Good job to PVL, for once, this rookie draft will be a good first step towards democratizing the recruitment and drafting process. This will give the bottom, less popular and less dominant teams a fair chance to improve their lineup without necessarily breaking the bank to sign up blue chip recruits. This will eventually lead to a more exciting tournament because in the long run, the teams' potential to win the championship will be more equitable - anybody can win and anything can happen. Also. this will potentially drum up more interest in the league across the board - more interest from players, from companies, advertisers, and from the fans, and will generate more revenue that hopefully will help fuel the national team budget. Hopefully, the PVL can sustain this practice in the years to come.
Off topic - there's an ongoing 22nd Asian Women's U20 tournament in China right now, with 12 teams participating. Wonder why the Philippines did not participate in this after they joined the U18 tournament.
