Love it! My favorite 1-2-5’s That I raced back in the day : 1979 RM125, 1981 RM125, 1983 YZ125 ❤️❤️, 1985 KX125 and the 1986 CR125❤️❤️❤️. All wonderful bikes! I was super disappointed with the 1980 RM125... my ‘82 RM was ok.... my 86 KX felt like a pig....and my 1987 KX was good, the 1988 KX just felt so big and wide.... I think that 83 YZ was my favorite bike, I had the most success on it. Would love to have one again👍

I absolutely fell in love with the I Love Toy Trains Christmas Greeting. Quality is top notch, the music gets you singing along right away. great detail and TM has been buying new up to date props for the newest layouts. so much attention to detail. I watched it twice and I really loved it. Would be great to get it on one of the popular Roku channels which are usually free movies but have commericials. You would need your 800 # at the end. I am really impressed. nice work guys and girls. I would Target mid channels, history channel, discovery etc.

Nice charge thru the pack. I have to giggle at the comment before mine. ( "...those old bikes were fast for their time but heavy....). Hmmm...the '85 YZ 125 was not considered to be fast in stock form but it was very light and nimble as evidenced by this rider carving up big bores one right after another. I rode one and I absolutely thought it had the best rear shock I've ever felt. Even better than the highly touted Full Floater Suzooks. And, I was about 20 lbs too heavy for the stock spring! (now I'm 40lbs too heavy, egads!). I'm wondering if the rider had unhooked the B.A.S.S system on this one. I know I might be the only person on earth who thought the system worked as designed, but I was blown away! Just goes to show you everyone has their preference when it comes to set up.

+jeff sharron yeah I forgot to turn my gas on at the time my float needle was sticking and had to keep the gas off until I launched from the line or it would load up. I take pride in maintaining and racing the worst years of bikes LOL.
I did disconnect the bass system because is was doing more harm than good its all about fun

@JP Sarron , the funny thing about that comment about them being fast but heavy is they were lighter than the new ones. My 83 YZ125 weighs 198lbs. A 2019 weighs 209lbs.

I just recently picked up an '85 YZ125 and I'm in the process of doing a full resto.. it's coming along nicely, and although a few parts have been difficult to locate, I have just about everything I need, or have a source for it anyway.. after seeing you rip up the track on yours, I'm looking very much forward to getting out on mine once it's finished! I found myself cheering for you as you started to really come on and were passing other bikes with relative ease! It looks like a very well handling bike for its age, and seems to rip right along albeit all the stories I've heard of it being the slowest 125 ever made.. I guess we'll see once I get mine out in the track!
I have one question tho.. I seen a comment about the bass system on this bike.. I'm assuming it refers to the cable coming off the rear shock reservoir going to the brake pedal.... my question is, what does it do, and what is the advantage to disconnecting it??
Thanks for the great vid, and where is that bike now?? Lol

I never thought them 84-85 yz125's were all that bad like they were made out to be. They were very torquey for a 125 made great trail bikes and were very stable unlike the head shaking hondas were back then. A good rider makes a lot of difference too. Great riding!

@dji zzah , you don't have a clue what you are saying. 85 was the slowest YZ125 ever. And as for the weight, a 2019 YZ125 weighs 208lbs. My 1983 YZ125 weighs 198lbs. Sure new bikes got aluminum frames, disc brakes, and they lowered the seat for all you midgets. But they weigh about the same. And I'm not a midget. So I think the swat should have stayed where it was.

I know this is ancient but I gotta hand it to this rider as these 84-85 yz125s we're dog slow stock, w wrist shattering soft and bottom happy forks, a yamahoppy shock , and that huge bulbous intrusive gas tank that feels like the ergos we're designed for the jolly green giant and you nailed it and actually ride the 🚲 rather than the bike riding you, takes great skill to handle this ole beast tiddler

@@codykorzenowski6888 the 1985 yz250s were monster engines at the time....and the yz250 in 1995 produced around 35hp some day upwards of 38 but the yz125 in 85 were no where near tht number,....a modern yz125 in 2024 puts out just around 35hp ....the 1985 yz125 would proudly put down somewhere in the low to mid 20s on the same dyno.........ask a mechanic from the day , they will tell u the hp numbers back then were often fudged and rounded up....extremely rounded up....any many took measurements from the crank, which is always more than the rear wheel after drag and friction from tires, chain sprockets, gears reduce the overall power once the rubber meets the dirt.....
