  • I actually did this song last year for an online memorial service for a brother in Christ's dad who passed away. My mom happened upon the video on CZcams through another channel and reminded me that I should post that here. The song seemed very appropriate for the circumstance; but really is appropriate for every person in all walks of life each and every day. It may seem hard because we can't see God doing the leading; but I think of the disciples with Jesus Christ, God in the flesh and that they didn't follow Him so perfectly either, even when God was right there with them. Whether in shady green pastures or if sorrow befall you and Satan oppose you, may you trust in the Lord and follow His leading.
    Lyrics:
    In shady, green pastures, so rich and so sweet,
    God leads His dear children along;
    Where the water’s cool flow bathes the weary one’s feet,
    God leads His dear children along.
    [Refrain]
    Some through the waters, some through the flood,
    Some through the fire, but all through the blood;
    Some through great sorrow, but God gives a song,
    In the night season and all the day long.
    Sometimes on the mount where the sun shines so bright,
    God leads His dear children along;
    Sometimes in the valley, in darkest of night,
    God leads His dear children along.
    Though sorrows befall us and evils oppose,
    God leads His dear children along;
    Through grace we can conquer, defeat all our foes,
    God leads His dear children along.
    Away from the mire, and away from the clay,
    God leads His dear children along;
    Away up in glory, eternity’s day,
    God leads His dear children along.

    “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.” ~Psalm‬ ‭23:1-6‬
    This was very beautifully sung. God bless this ministry!

    Oh Stephen, thank you so much for singing this! I enjoy the smooth and mellow sound of it, no doubt about it, but the words, the words! Coping with many challenges and yet, knowing that God is in charge is such a help to me. Knowing He will never leave nor forsake me...and that living for Him, I may bring Him joy! Thank you so much, it's like you sang it just and only for my own heart. God bless you and TheNCrew!

    Well done! I loved the song, though I never heard it before. The visual effects of shading the parts that aren't active was a good touch. I hope that you got off to your family's trip to the South. Many blessings, a Merry Christmas!

    A little low and a little slow. Try it with the guitar. A little faster can be more of a happy peppy song😊
